Mrs Obama may not care to know this about me, but during the NBA players lockout in 2000, one star – I can’t even recall who – was quoted in Sports Illustrated as saying he believed the “average Amercian household” earned about $300,000 dollars. That was the moment I decided I needn’t give the NBA one more minute of my time and attention, and – 8 years and a few ill-fated Nuggets playoff quests later – I still haven’t. I’ve been too busy “clinging” to my religion and my bitterness.

Thus Spoke Zarathustra would fit notably well. However, if you consider the destination and remove the salvation aspect of the story, (maybe even played the video a little faster?) Orpheus Down Under (The Can Can song for those that insist) may also be very fitting.

While it is not nearly as poetically beautiful as your analogy of the confused monkeys, it would seem to fit almost as well.

Try again, Michelle. Check the average wages in your state, or in the United States, then check that last tax return you and Obama submitted.

Like every other young couple in the United States? Sure, every young couple with Ivy League educations and $150,000 salaries each (before their 100% raises).
