May Day, May Day: All-purpose, left-wing grievance day; West Coast port shutdowns expected; in-your-face illegal aliens in Chicago; 29 ports down; Los Angeles fizzle
1:40pm Eastern. The illegal alien march in Chicago is underway. His t-shirt says: “I’m illegal. So what?” (Full photo at the Chicago Tribune site.) Live video coverage here.
Scroll down for updates…
Illegal immigration activists and anti-war activists will lead the parades today, but May Day attracts all grievance-mongers.
Here’s another all-purpose, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink “list of demands” (I feel like I’m at Oberlin again) from the “National Immigrant Solidarity Network:”
On May Day 2008, National Immigrant Solidarity Network is calling for a multi-ethnic, decentralized, multi-topic and multi-tactic national day of mobilization to support immigrant workers rights.
1. No to anti-immigrant legislation, and the criminalization of the immigrant communities.
2. No to militarization of the border.
3. No to the immigrant detention and deportation.
4. No to the guest worker program.
5. No to employer sanction and “no match” letters.
6. Yes to a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
7. Yes to speedy family reunification.
8. Yes to civil rights and humane immigration law.
9. Yes to labor rights and living wages for all workers.
10. Yes to the education and LGBT immigrant legislation. We acknowledges that there’ll be multiple call to actions from across the country to organize May Day 2008, and each coalition will present their sets of demands. We should respects each other organizing and encourage and supports everyone’s issues:
1) Multi-ethnic, Decentralized and Multi-topic mobilization: while everyone will pledge to support immigrant workers rights at May Day 2007, local groups can choose to includes any other topics for their mobilizations: civil rights, anti-war, Katrina, labor rights, health care…., etc.
2) Decentralized Multi-Tactic May Day organizing: We will encourage everyone to organize their actions at May Day, but will let local groups to decide what they want to do at the day: march, boycott, strike, lunch action, vigil, community event, conference or congressional lobby day, etc.Understanding the connections between our individual conditions of life and the lives of people everywhere in the word allows us to come together and organize across all borders. WE NEED to link the connections between: wars in Africa, south America, Asia, Iraq, Palestine & Korea with sweatshops in Asia as well as in Los Angeles, New York; international arm sales and WTO, FTAA, NAFTA & CAFTA with AIDS, hunger, child labors and child solider; multinational corporations and economic exploitation with racism and poverty at home–then we can win the struggle.Let’s all come together, on May Day 2008, to build a new immigrant rights and civil rights movements!
Their calendar includes the “Festival of Tolerance and Unity” in Aurora, CO; a nationwide call to walk out of school to protest standardized testing; and a protest by longshoremen in San Francisco.
Good luck to the law enforcement officers across the country–especially in L.A.–who will have to contend with the attention-craving, law-ignoring ruffians and thugs turning out today for the annual p.c. powwow. They’ll need it.

Update 9:30am Eastern (hat tip – reader William Amos): I mentioned the longshoremen’s protest in the SF Bay Area. Looks like a shutdown of ports is expected all along the West Coast. Via KING5 TV in Seattle:
May Day rallies are expected to draw thousands of protestors Thursday, and on the Seattle waterfront, longshoremen may join in.
KING 5 got late word Wednesday that longshoremen up and down the West Coast may not show up for work Thursday to protest the Iraq War.
So far, the local longshoremen’s union has declined to comment about a possible walkout. In fact, a union arbitrator has warned them that such a walkout violates union contract and is illegal, but Thursday is May Day when workers traditionally celebrate the labor movement.
Three separate marches are scheduled for Thursday which could cause major traffic delays – two during the noon hour, and the biggest one is expected to shut down traffic in downtown Seattle for almost 2 hours during the evening commute.
Starting at 4 p.m., it runs from Judkins Park on the north side of I-90 and makes its way down 4th Avenue to the Seattle Center, ending at about 6:30 p.m. Metro warned bus riders to prepare for a major disruption.
An arbitrator has ordered the union that represents dockworkers at West Coast ports to tell members they must report to work on Thursday and not take the day off to protest U.S. military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. A wide enough walkout could cause a slowdown at the West Coast ports – the nation’s major gateway for cargo from the Far East.
Arbitrator John Kagel issued his decision Wednesday after holding a hearing by phone with the employers’ group, the Pacific Maritime Association, and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, according to a document outlining the ruling. The union previously asked employers to clear the way for members to skip out on the day shift to protest the war, but employers refused the request and were backed by the arbitrator last week. Despite that decision, word continued to spread on the Internet of a May 1 walkout by longshore workers and details of protests, including a march in San Francisco.
****
Update 8:30 Pacific, by See-Dubya: More about that port shutdown…the longshoremen’s union leadership was getting cold feet about shutting down the ports. ILWU officers weren’t going to bless work stoppage to protest the war:
ILWU executives had initially given their blessing to an eight-hour work stoppage during the busy day shift, which was suggested two months ago during a union caucus in San Francisco….
The union withdrew its support shortly after the Pacific Maritime Association denied the union’s request for the walkout. An arbitrator ruled last week that the union had to inform its members about the change in plans.
As a result, any work stoppage held Thursday will be initiated by the union’s rank-and-file members, not by union executives, according to Merrilees.
“In light of those developments, we hope that May 1 will come and go without disruption,” said Steve Getzug, a spokesman for the PMA, which represents the West Coast’s shippers.
Hey, don’t blame us, the union executives say. Blame… Cynthia McKinney!

Update 1:50pm Eastern. Things are heating up in Chicago. The Trib estimates about 2,000 have shown up to demand non-enforcement of our immigration laws. Many students are playing hookie to attend:
“We want to change the immigration laws. We have to support our parents,” he added. Marlene Rivera, 15, a Kelly High School freshman, boarded buses along with about 200 other students at the school.
She and others from a school club called Latinos United spent the last month preparing for the march. Standing with three friends who held Mexican flags, she said they wanted elected officials as well as the presidential candidates to know that youth supports changing immigration law.
“We want to help out and let them know that it’s just not the grown-ups, but young people too,” she said.
Elizabeth Quiroz, 14, another Kelly freshman, said many of her classmates have been born in the U.S. to undocumented parents and live with the fear their parents may be deported at any time.
“If parents get sent back to Mexico, then the kids are going to be on their own,” she said.

Yup. After I took the SAT I went out and invaded Poland. Fight da’ powa’!
To quote Bugs Bunny;
“Whata bunch of Maroons”!
Today is also National Prayer Day, so I plan on saying prayers for our soldiers and sailors in harm’s way, that they return home safe to their familes. The heck with the moonbat may day. Having been around the world, I also pray that this country stays free and liberty is maintained, seeing how other people live. I pray too, for everyone here and Michelle…even the “trolls”.
Here’s a conservative’s response:
Take the above list. Switch all “Yes” demands to “No” and all “No” demands to “Yes.” You want to reunite a family? Send those who came here illegally back home.
Deal with it or leave.
Color me crazy, but please tell me what 90% of this moonbat-spewed garbage ACTUALLY relates to the topic of May Day?
Do I think some US employers are greedy and exploit illegals to make more money for themselves? Sure.
Do I think that wars in Asia contribute to this? Hardly?
This looks, on its surface, to be an effort link these groups together into one giant mass of people, so that supporters can say “Well, we had (X number) of people show up to support our cause!”, when the reality is, if you’re dragging groups of non-related people into it, its just padding the numbers.
Where are the immigration enforcement crowds though? Are there counter protests? Where is our law enforcement, when we have a gathering where there is certain to be people who are criminals in the mix?
Lets just send these people back to where they came from.
Every reader if this blog knows the right also has a huge list of petty grievances: speaking Spanish or other non-English languages in public, posting non-American flags on ethnic restaurants, saying anything positive about Muslims or the religion of Islam, suggesting that some official act of the US government not made by a recent Democratic President is imperfect (ethnic cleansing of Indians, slavery, massacres in the Philippines, ..).
Why should anyone listen to your DEMANDs and grievances?
Keep marching – you achieve the exact opposite of what you intend to gain.
Where are the majority of Americans who support illegal immigration? It’s actually comical to hear libs spout this tripe considering the fact that 1)drivers licenses for illegals in NY was shot down, 2) the attempts to backdoor all expense paid tuition for illegals was shot down and 3) most recently the high court in Indiana upheld the voter id law. So, pray tell where are all of these Americans who support them? It most certainly isn’t the families of victims who have crossed paths with these illegals. Arizona, well that place speaks for itself…
Enforce the law, build the fence.
May Day is simply picked as the delivery vehicle due to its roots in the pagan British Isles, where it was a major Druidic holiday. For whatever reason, much of the moonbattery of the US has latched onto May Day as some sort of magic Celtic connection to … whatever. Very much akin to the way the New Age latched on to the Far Eastern quasi-Buddhist stuff. Many of the same folks, in fact.
None of which has anything to do with their political demands, of course, but since when have these people made reasoned demands from the perspective of the United States of America?
We happen to be US citizens…we can gripe all we want.
It’s the language of the land. Deal with it.
No flag is to fly above the United States flag. Period. Got it? It’s the lawwwww.
You’re an idiot.
You’re an imbecile. There is no other way to say it.
LGM – what other non-English languages are you talking about? The only other one I hear is Spanish. The only choice I am given other than English, is Spanish. I have never been asked to press 3 for French, or 4 for Italian, or 5 for German. Why should my chocies be limited?
I plan to celebrate this May Day as I have for most of the past 20 years or so….placing flowers on several doorsteps and running!!
Only this year I’m down to just one child at home to enjoy the tradition with me.
That pretty much covered my initial response to it. I hate to say it and can’t believe I’ve come to think it in the last year, but Joe McCarthy was a lot more right than he was wrong and had the right idea. May Day. Nationally in the US. Thank you gov’t schools and self-involved parents.
If we cannot put together enough support for the people who uphold the law to overcome those who wantonly break the law … we are already lost.
This site still gives me at least a little bit of hope but I fear it will still get much worse before it ever gets any better.
Looks like the seagull had his first bong hit today.
Like wow man. Groovy.
International Workers’ Day (a name used interchangeably with May Day) is a celebration of the social and economic achievements of the international labour movement. May Day commonly sees organized street demonstrations by millions of working people and their labour unions throughout Europe and most of the rest of the world — though, as noted below, rarely in the United States and Canada. Communist and anarchist organizations and their affiliated unions universally conduct street marches on this day.
Make no mistake folks, this is not about immigration, its about communism… these immigrant groups are not organized enough to pull these rallies off, the internal diseased leftist are the culprits
just my opinion…

A lesson in political dialogue: the first three are arguments.
The last two are not.
Has McCain(R-illegal) slobbered on any illegals abt this yet? I know its still early in the day, but I thought he might have gotten a jump on playing to *his* base by announcing yesterday…
- martin.musculus
After all these demands are NOT met they will be back mowing lawns on May 2nd.lgm’s post are so predictable and boring I don’t know why we respond to them anymore. But I just did,my bad.
lgm,
The day I take any advice from you is the day I’ll cease to exist…
Thank you for your critique of my comments; however, it doesn’t make what I said any less true.
docflash,
You are absolutely right about lgm…
I’ll not make any promises but I am working on getting help for my addiction. The first step is admitting that you have a problem.
#7 30 Pieces of Silver
Here in Oklahoma we passed a law punishing any employer who knowingly hires illegals. We also passed a law making English the offical language of the state.
There sure isn’t much support for them here.
Did you guys hear something?
tre, honest oversight on my part. Oklahoma definitely gets mucho kudos for doing what the federal government refuses to do.
Baloney, hearing you spew garbage every day for a reaction dignifies such a response.
Maybe. But they are true none the less. She could have improved her statement with:
Your a freakin idiot.
Other than that, she nailed it!
I don’t even know where to begin with this pile of excrement.
First off, what makes the grievances of the majority petty? Because you don’t agree with them? Or because you can’t seem to fathom the issues, and consider it as some right wing racist propaganda? Honestly, do you even read what you type?
But, for the interest that maybe, just maybe, you’ll learn something, I’ll address your ridiculous post anyway.
For starters, most people don’t have a problem with someone else speaking their native language to each other in public. If i decide to speak Japanese in public, who cares? But when it comes to official business conducted by businesses, local/state/federal government and so on, it should be in the common language of our land. Last time anyone checked, the mass majority spoke English. Is it not a requirement for naturalization, to have at least an elementary understanding of English? So what is petty about making everyone adhere to the same standard? What’s petty about people becoming part of OUR country, instead of trying to supplant their own here?
As far as injecting Muslims into the conversation, I have no problem with anyone who is Muslim. I have a problem with people who use Islam as a political tool (just like you’re doing, actually), or who use it as an excuse to participate in the wholesale slaughter of innocent people. Or is that being petty too?
That last bit about imperfect acts…seriously, I just dont know where you’re going with that statement. Do people believe Bush is perfect? Certainly not. Do people believe anyone is perfect? I would hope not. If there’s some other intrinsic point you have to make, I’m listening, but, otherwise, you’re not really making a point here.
I think the problem you have lgm, is the fact that you jump on here, comment about how “well, the right has…” or “well, republicans do XYZ…”, but you never really address the issue at hand. Do you have something to add to the discussion thats actually on topic and direct, or do you just want to complain and point fingers?
If you want to see petty, your posting is the same kind of argument style children use on the playground. When you can join the discussion as an adult, and actually add something of value (which i’ve seen others listed as trolls here do before, you should follow their example), then I would invite you to try again.
Done.
I wonder what new weapons we will get to see today as the Soviet Union celebrates Mayday with the usual military parade. Oops! Communism didn’t work out so well for them did it? Same old tired propaganda from the Marxist Liberal usual suspects. Too bad these elitist idiots never held a real job or will never understand self reliance and personal responsibility. Yep! Let “Big Daddy” government take care of you from cradle to a very early grave.

Global warming is not going away. Iraq is not going to become peaceful. Americans are not going to uproot millions of illegal immigrants. People will continue posting Italian flags on Italian restaurants and Mexican flags on Mexican Restaurants. The Spanish speaking culture in America will continue to be rich and vibrant.
George Bush will not grow a brain or a conscience. The gas tax holiday will not lower gas prices. Evolution will not cease.

For the Alert Force for the Alert Force! Klaxon! Klaxon! Klaxon! Scramble all interceptor fighters we have spotted a rouge squadron of seagulls hovering over our airspace.
Too close for missiles switching to guns!
A Happy Mayday to you too lgm!
Sir (lgm) When reading your comments I note that in your case, natural selection has done little to improve the species. You can, however, improve the species and drastically reduce your carbon footprint.
Hold your breath.
I will tell you when to stop.
Happy Law Day!

global warming is so yesterday. It’s climate change now – didn’t you get the memo?
I dont think we are either, Soap LOL

Your point is?
George Bushlgm will not grow a brain or a conscience. We clearly have something that we can build on here…
1. No to anti-immigrant legislation, and the criminalization of the immigrant communities. I am not for anti-immigrant/immigrant community legislation, just for anti-illegal alien/illegal alien community legislation, so I think we can agree here.
3. No to the immigrant detention and deportation. I only seek to detain and deport illegal aliens, not immigrants. Point of agreement #2.
4. No to the guest worker program. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
6. Yes to a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. I am all for a path to citizenship for “undocumented immigrants” (let’s not quibble over jargon). Let’s provide them with a path right back to their citizenship in their native country, and sing “God Bless America” on the flight home!
7. Yes to speedy family reunification. Amen! Let’s get ‘em all home as soon as possible.
8. Yes to civil rights and humane immigration law. I see you like the laws we have on the books already as well…
Who says you illegal alien activists are completely irrational?
now, if you would have said the Middle East, and not be such a pain in the rump, people might have agreed with this part. but, being specific to just Iraq is a cheap shot even for you.
Last time I checked it was usually considered good form for a guest to ask for things in your house.
Also I mean guests , not party crashers.
The latest census report show hispanics now at 15%. Soon enough and we will see spanish everywhere – hollywood, radio, magazines, tv – far more than we see today. Culturally and politically they will soon dominate. They will control our boprder. We will soon see an increase of border traffic not a decrease. In 10 short years America willl begin to look like a different country. Today in Hilton Head SC there are so many hispanics that Americans – business owners especially – are taking spanish lessons. Unless Americans get a backbone and provide more support for people like Ramos and Compean, suport english only, march in the streets and a greater military presence on the border we are going to lose our sovereignty.
http://agentramos.blogspot.com/
I noticed when those dingbats linked up, they left out the war in Afghanistan. Are they for the war there, but nowhere else, or did their looney leaders overlook it?
Our sovereignty isn’t tied up so much in which language we are speaking as it is in the legislation supported by this administration and all three of the potential next administrations. We are letting Mexico dictate policy to us. We are allowing them to help their citizens get into this country. We are not stopping them at the border. And we aren’t throwing them out when we catch them here.
It’d be nice if we didn’t have to learn Spanish, but I’d happily run to class if they’d just start enforcing the laws we already have on the books.
rich & vibrant? If it is so “rich and vibrant” then why is Mexico and most points south such crapholes? Oh never mind we have many “rich & vibrant” Spanish speaking culture places right here. LA(which is becoming a third world city) Miami and just about anywhere else large enclaves of this “rich & vibrant” culture collects itself. Reminds me of a card game called BS.

Here in Las Vegas, both of my professors have cancelled their classes that were scheduled for today.
I wonder if they have the flu???
Yeah, well
Las Vegas is an “unofficial” sanctuary city…
and the police can’t question status of immigration.
I understand that an illegal alien was just caught w/ a couple AK47’s here in Vegas, but the State Attorney won’t call the prosecutors back.
Our local government doesn’t want to do anything about illegal immigration.
I was also told that 90% of traffic violators in NLV are illegal aliens … driving w/o car insurance of course.
Ever notice how ol’ lgm always wanders 50 miles off topic? Must be the good weed huh?
I think it is important that those of us against illegal immigration and FOR American citizen’s rights speak up. Contact your senator, reps, the state dept whoever – make your voice heard.
jenmom,
I don’t know what it’ll take…
I e~mail … call… fax…
and I have been for about 2 years now…
NOTHING.
They are not listening to “us”.. they are pandering for “the vote”.
This is exactly why I’m going to concentrate more on my local elections than the presidential election.
We have a group in my county called “Quality of Life.” You’re to submit your grievence and they will send a Quality of Life patrol to your neighborhood and they will hand out tickets, like the police, if they agree with your grievence.
My husband has been emailing the Captain in charge of this unit. One of our major complaints is in our subdivision, we have a lot of homes who are housing multiply families in what is zoned “single” family homes. Yes, they are Hispanic homes. Quality of Life can’t do anything about that because they would have to gain entry into the home to do the headcount. We’ve done the headcount. You can tell when a home has 6 or more vehicles parked at it too.
In essence, we have a useless law in our county. So, homes continue to be over populated with multiply families and our property values keep going down. I won’t bore anyone with the crime rates which have tripled in the last seven years.
Grievances against grievances day. Hmm?
As a real immigrant, I am so offended by these 3d world commies (MAY DAY??????, that is a commie holiday) trying to impose their will on us, AMERICANS. If you are not legal, go home. That is easy to accomplish: go after the employers, renters, real estate agents who purposefully rent to illegals, stop government benefits to illegals and see them RUN back home. Then shut the border with SOLDIERS and then build a double layer fence, all along, with technology to boost it, not instead of it (we spend BILLIONS in Iraq, let’s spend it here). Then, in 10 years, if there are any illegals left (and only if border security is maintanained), we the American people may decide to grant some amnesties to a small group (with limit of 100,000 or less) that meets STRINGENT requirements: speak fluent English (prove it by taking an SAT test); know basic math, etc (GED test at a minimum); pay back taxes PLUS PENALTIES AND INTEREST for work done, at least minimum wage if they do not admit to all work, prove you have been and are employed and productive, go thru a strict background check (any crime committed here, even a misdemeanor, means you are out, other than crossign border unless done more than once), swear loyalty to the US and if you are a young male, must serve in the military for 2 years; on top of that, there should be a fine of $10,000 per person, no exceptions, plus they pay their own legal fees. Then, since you came here illegally, you forfeit the right to ever become a US citizen (unless you serve in military for 7 years), but can obtain a green card in another 10 years after applying to be legalized. Now, that type of amnesty, I am OK with. I know so many people who would love to come to the US, wear its flag proudly, speak English and be a productive and educated member of society. Why give benefits to a bunch of 3d world people who are the current slave market and who ONLY benfit businesses, but we pay thru the nose for them. Enough already. That is why I cannot and will not vote for McShamnesty. He is likely to push thru his amnesty probably better than BO.
Oh yeah, and pass a stringent health test, paid by the illegal, full price, no assistance.
#53…How can they pander for votes of people that can’t register, because they’re illegal. Thet should be listening to the REAL citizens.
moonsbreath,
we have a couple in our neighborhood…
6 to 10 cars parked out front at any given time…
about 10 to 15 men constantly going in and out…
they go thru the back gate…
the yard looks like crap…
it is just sickening…
The troll belched:
No, they’re not opinions.
They’re undeniable truths.
Even non-voters can exercise influence. They can lead and participate in marches. Call and E-Mail and gripe just like legal citizens. Complain to their neighbors, co-workers and so on.
While these tactics do not work on me and most likely the majority of Michelle Malkin readers. They do seem to work on those tv viewers, MSM only crowd and people who simply give up because to care takes to much effort.
When will our side learn that the other side never tires and we must also be resilient.
Kudos to #26 by abstractmind
That was priceless.
RealImmigrantChick for president!! (Oh, you’re an immigrant… damn.) Okay… You need to run for SOMETHING, because that is the best summary of a workable plan I have read in a long time. Too bad none of the three “choices” for CiC gets it. I bet if this plan were submitted to the general population, it would be overwhelmingly accepted. Kudos!
Okay, I have been saving up on feeds for a long time … and this was just too rich …
So are you upset or happy that Tinkerbell went away? (That is a personal affront)
You do know that Peter Pan is NOT a wash basin now right? (That is a personal affront)
According to a new study in Germany, manmade global warming really is a natural threat and one that will remain with us … only it is going to go away for about ten years or so … oddly enough, for about the same length of time that they estimate the “Natural Cycles” occur.
From the Article: “The study was based on sea-surface temperatures of currents that move heat around the world, and vary from decade to decade.”
So it would seem that it is a naturally occurring cycle that comes and goes for a decade or so and it is disappearing for about ten years or so but because it is manmade it is going to return in about ten years or so when the natural cycle repeats itself because it is manmade. (And yes, I do know that you can do the math … even if somewhat offhanded, that is a compliment)
(Man Made Global Warming … MM and GW … two things the libs love to hate … coinki dink?) Global Warming is a point of debate among many people and one that is argued about as well. I believe in a debate of facts however and not of theories … unless we are using a sound scientific approach to verify it. If it cannot be verified by anything other than a general consensus of scientists who cannot even give an accurate accounting of how many of them have formed this supposed consensus … well, let’s just say that this in and of itself makes me a bit more than just skeptical of their facts.
The article can be read on Bloomberg here
Many of our liberal “peers” for lack of a better word, do actually make an effort to contribute something and make their positions seem viable and reasonable. As I recall, there was a time when you attempted this feat as well. However, of late, you seem to be more easily drawn into social intercourse of a derogatory nature more easily than the most staunch adversaries that you have here. (That is a sad commentary about your actions on this board when you … unlike on lefty sites where Conservative voices are quickly hushed and banned, have an opportunity to enlighten us with your wisdom rather than attack us with pics of Southern dems in white sheets and telling us how evil republicans are)
There, I have fed the troll, been verbose, made personal attacks and debated logically. I am going to go get some coffee now before I end up getting myself banned.
I’ve supported sane immigration policies by calling my representative and senators and telling them to support the SAVE act – HR4088. If you want your voice to be heard above the din of protest, call your representative and senators and let them know what you think.

Thank you for your willingness to defend this country and its people. Welcome and I’m proud to have served a country that has CITIZENS, such as you.
Terri I did not know about this story, but will look into it. Thanks for pointing it out. Hard to keep up with all of the goings on sometimes.
LGM, serious question. One I have struggled to understand.
How do you reconcile the support for bringing in millions of more immigrants each year into the US (legal and illegal) with your complete belief that man is causing global warming? We, in the US, have much larger carbon footprints, so by bringing in more people from low footprint countries, and increasing our population, it only exacerbates the problem. Logic would dictate that you call for immigraiton reduction not staus quo or increases. Or does the bleeding heart side of you override the long term hazzards in favor of short term “feel good” policies? Again illogical because the short term thinking will doom everyone in the end. Just curious.
It baffles me as to why the American left is so hell bent on continually helping the filthy rich of Mexico by systematically transplanting their economic burden onto our balance sheets; especially when they claim that we aren’t spending enough on social services for Americans to begin with.
Is it just safer and easier to always protest that America is the bad guy, or does the American left really want to see Our ship eventually go down?
I can not believe illegal immigration is even an issue. We should be debating appropriate levels of legal immigration in terms of the continued and future existence of our current quality of life. Illegal invaders are a no brainer. Send them home by any means necessary.
It’s best not to begin at all with this one. As I stated yesterday about another blogtroll, lgm thrives on negativity. He enjoys arguing (not debating) and loves to call names.
In my opinion, he should be avoided when possible.
I swear, guys, I think I’m hearing things. Must be indigestion.
I think the petty list of grievances belongs only to the troll, who of course is the OIC of the Keyboard Warrior Brigade.
Didn’t the Whitehouse have a list of demands like this last year?
BTW, happy commie day.
Yes Brian, the left DOES want to see our ship eventually go down. My question to them is, “then what?” Where does that leave them? Rulers of…….what?
#68 Brian, I think your right. The self loathing of the Left is evident in every move they make. They feel some Great White Guilt for everything wrong in the last 300 years! Again I say they should just put themselves out of their misery. I know this land is not perfect, but why do millions of people risk their lives to SNEAK in here if its so horrible? Its because they know the Leftys are WRONG!
It’s what’s happening here in MN. A legislature that has the arrogance to tax hard working people to death, drive companies out, but welcome illegals in , grow the welfare state and have Soros fund the services( I made up that last part).
Sorry for feeding the troll but:
lgm,
I am surrounded by that “rich and vibrant” Spanish speaking culture that you seem to admire so much. I speak fluent Spanish, lived in South America, and am married to a latina and interact daily with illegals as they are everywhere in my community. I know what I’m talking about and I can assure you it is nothing we should be encouraging to grow as you seem to suggest is a good thing. What is your in-depth experience with it, going to a Mexican restaurant on the weekends? Maybe seeing some Hispanic students in your classes that are good students and assuming the rest of their culture must be so wonderful? You accuse posters here of ignorance of the the subjects they commenting about. So tell me how have you come to be so knowledgable about the Spanish speaking culture?

You beat me to it!
(I tried block-quoting …fingers..crossed….)
Success! With the office computer!
The crowd goes wild….
That is a great point. He probably goes to Don Pablo’s every Friday night. Then he hits the A & P on Saturday for some Old El Paso products, limes, avocados and Corona and sits in his backyard and watches the illegals cut his grass. He says “Adios” as he pays them and they leave.
Strikes at the West Coast ports are very, very good for the Texas economy. Trade through our Gulf Coast ports and our TX-Mexico ports of entry is a huge part of the Texas economy.
It’s growing fast partly because of the unreliability of California ports. Due to the California labor unions, more and more Pacific trade is coming up through Mexico or through the Canal to the Gulf of Mexico.
Just wait until Mexico completes the big terminals at Lorenzo Cardenas. Half the Asia shipping that goes to CA will start going there instead. No nasty Longshoremen, no nasty unions.
May Day. You can always tell the commies on May Day.
I happen to know that those West Coast dockworkers are VERY well paid. Many of them earn 6-figure incomes. I say they can kill two birds with one stone. If they are willing to march for illegal immigrants, why not go a step further; simply volunteer to be replaced at their job by an illegal immigrant who will work for FAR less money. That will decrease the price of goods entering the country, increase profits, and will be a real gesture of good will, a putting money where mouth is sort of a thing? Dock Workers? What say you? Will you lose your job to save an immigrant?
Oops. Lazaro Cardenas.
I’m going to have a busy day, that’s for sure.
Today is May 1st and in the United States of America it is Law Day. Screw this Workers Day communist crap!
Let it been know that the United States of America was founded on the supreme Law of the land and not on protests for openly breaking laws and the sovereignty of this Nation
Now, see, I read lgm #16, in response to 30pcs #9, differently. Here’s what lgm writes to 30pcs:
What I thought he was saying is that there is no arguing those last two points, which made me pleased that lgm and I actually agree on something!

Terri I did not know about this story, but will look into it. Thanks for pointing it out. Hard to keep up with all of the goings on sometimes.
RE:
I understand that an illegal alien was just caught w/ a couple AK47’s here in Vegas, but the State Attorney won’t call the prosecutors back.
This happened in North Las Vegas BTW.
I thought that May Day was supposedly either about the labor movement (Communist workers unite!) or illegals wanting their rights. Now it’s a whole bandwagon of disenfranchized delights that the rage boys and girls all get to celebrate.
TT: You mention the Rouge Forum and my Master’s advisor regularly either used this to indoctrinate students or use it as a prop for how teachers need to be activists and use Communist propaganda to educate vulnerable, impressionable young people.
I lost all respect for this person. I even asked for a reference and recommendation from this person but I felt like I needed to take a shower after doing so. Yuck, to this day the Rouge Forum just turns me off.
ya’ll watch for me and kate… we will wave if they pan the heat seeking camera over us… Everyone have a Great Lawless Day…
forgot to say….. SEMPER FI …..
He’s a regular at Chi-Chi’s

Have you ever been to the Middle East? Do you know any people from the Middle East?
You say the “Middle East will never be peaceful”. So are you saying that the wonderful, vibrant people of the Middle East don’t deserve to have the opportunity to live free lives free of persecution and fear? That we should just run away and let the people of the Middle East be thrown to the wolves?
Do you really want to see a ruthless slaughter of Middle Eastern people which is what will happen if the Americans (and Israelis) just leave? what’s wrong with you?
P.S. Yes, I’ve been to the Middle East. Twice. Before you go down that road…..
****
As a legal immigrant, I say as I say every day “Suck it up, Buttercup” to the illegals. Do it the right way or don’t do it at all.
The effects of this May Day, mayhem, madness will be felt in 3…2…1.
