What’s wrong with Ohio?

Well, it was a key battleground state. For the most part, you had Southern (Ohio) conservatives and Northern (Ohio) liberals. The strongholds were Cincinnati and Cleveland, respectively.

Thanks to the overall disintegration of the GOP (poor leadership), we lost the war. Now we’re blue from top to bottom.

Throw in a James Traficant and I think you got the game won hands down.

Of course, Traficant and Dann come from the same bastion of wholesome liberal values – Youngstown… sadly, the place where I grew up and still work.

Ted (“Teddy the Love Gov”, I forget who coined that, wasn’t me) Strickland’s reaction should come as no surprise to anyone. Just consider his vote on the APA/pedophilia resolution in the House. Also consider his voter fraud/tax fraud dance (video with info at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EABS4P0kVCo&eurl=).

I hold out some hope that Ohio voters will realize before 2010 that corruption pervades all parties, and that we can get a governor – and a state legislature – that has at least some clue what it’s doing and get this state’s act together.

But I don’t hold out much hope…

Rusty the point isn’t about Democrats or Republicans. It’s really about a man who holds a position in a public office doing something wrong; a man who is looked up to and is supposed to be honorable. And he did something morally reprehensible and is now refusing to take responsibility for his actions. Sure, stepping down is harsh. But when you’re in a PUBLIC OFFICE the consequences become a bit more severe. Shame on all Republicans and Democrats who can’t keep their personal lives clean.
