Again, details, please. There are a LOT of things I don’t like about McCain. I didn’t vote for him in my primary. But of the three left, he is clearly the best of the three, at least to me. Doesn’t mean I have to like him, or that I agree with him on everything. I don’t.

It was a while ago, but it was funny. I’m not taking anything away from you for it, me being self-deprecating myself and all that, so my comments are intended in good fun when they venture this way.

Now I know you have a sense of humot, because I have seen it peek out once or twice, so I just wanted to elicit some laughs.

As for this maroon that dropped the c-bomb, I thought McCain handled it rather well, given his past inclination to pop-off at people. (I still don’t prefer McCain, if that’s what you’re thinking. Just so you know, I only choose him this time because I do not believe in the policies of Obama or the Hildebeast. We have no good choices this time, IMHO.)

And, by the way, John Gibson is the dumbest man in media. I wish foxnews.com still featured his “My Word” segment at the bottom of their webpage. It was consistently funnier and more outlandish than The Onion.

Here in Illinois, almost all of the VFW’s and American Legion’s are ‘open’ clubs. You can just walk-in off the street and get served. You can’t attend the meetings unless you’re a member, but other than that one day a month, it’s belly-up-to-the-bar. I have no idea why they’re like that in this state, I just moved here a couple years ago and don’t get time to go to them anyway. I ‘heard’ it was because the business was so bad, they had to open to the public or they’d go out of business.
Not only that, but the few times my wife and I have been to any Veteran’s club here, we’ve found the few patron’s are decidedly liberal. Even the patron’s who were actually veterans. That alone was enough to make me want to stay home.

As for the guy who asked the c-word question: is this politics or People Magazine. The guy is not involved in politics. He is not on the ballot anywhere and does not advise anyone. The only thing that matters about him is the question and how it was answered and what that says about McCain. Nothing about the guy himself — does he pay he rent or own a dog — will change that. Whether he’s a good or bad person, the question is the same.

He was licensed by this church at some distant past (he says tin 1980; those who were here at the time say earlier). Marty told me that he was licensed as a teenager just before he left on what was supposed to be a summer mission with some non-Southern Baptist mission in some state other than Arkansas.
