Sunday open thread: “Boiling point” edition

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 4, 2008 10:22 AM

Michelle Obama says her hubby has reached his “boiling point.” HOPE has given way to ANGER!

I just hope she doesn’t tell us which body parts are angry, if you know what I mean, because I think we’ve had enough of that.

Talk amongst yourselves.

Speaking of anger, I had a great idea yesterday. As we all know, John McCain is kind of an angry guy and one who is less than enamored with conservatives. We also know that he needs a younger running mate to broaden his appeal in the upcoming general election. Let’s face it, we truly live in crazy times. Finding a compatible running mate for McCain, conservative or not, won’t be easy. At the very least, he needs someone who will appeal to big city voters, cross over the racial divide, etc., to push him over the top in November. But where could we find such a man? Who could that man be?

I know. I have found at last the perfect running mate for John McCain — Jeremiah Wright. Both are straight talking, no nonsense, in your face politicians. Not only will they get along great, the pairing of these two would help to bring the races together far better than Obama ever could. Not only that, the two would open up the country to new ideas. Wright in particular would add a refreshing point of view, one that would jump start a new dialog — well, you can write the rest of it yourself.

Okay, we lose the Italian vote but who cares?

So this election year, vote John and Jeremiah. They’re “Wright” for America and they’ll be “Wright” for you. Count on it.

I was wondering why SO much media attention was suddenly placed on Barry’s “passion” for the game of basketball in the last month (this article, Bryant Gumbel’s entire interview on HBO, etc.)

    Then I remembered, Indiana.

This is pretty calculated stuff. Indiana is “white” basketball. Obama never brought up basketball in NYC, LA, Houston, etc. I think he uses basketball as an issue to woo white male votes, and that his relaxed style of play doesn’t have enough “street cred” for black male sympathies.

COUNTER CLAIM – Senator Obama’s father is from Kenya (Black African) and he (Obama) was born in America. How can you say he is not African American?

REBUTTAL – Senator Obama’s racial background consists of the following: 50% white (mother, both sides), 43.25% Arabic (father, both sides), and 6.25% African Negro (father, one side, 1 generation removed). 12.5% is the legal threshold one must prove to claim racial status under the law. In addition, Senator Obama cannot make a sociological claim as an African American either. He was not raised as an African American, was not raised by African Americans, and was not raised in an African American neighborhood.

I would say Angry Black man… but he’s not Black.

We have the greatest identity politics fraud ever going on right now, and no one is willing to call him on it.

McCain’s views are far outside the main stream of American views (though not outside those of MM’s readers). If he’s going to win the election, it will be on character. While the MSM and right wing noise machine promotes said character, the facts show that McCain leaves much to be desired.

Sounds like Michelle Obama does not believe that character and judgment have any place in a Presidential race. Let’s just ignore what the man is made of, and blindly trust the words coming out of his mouth. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Michelle Obama cannot make any public appearance without injecting her feelings of bitterness. While she does make positive statements, she eventually tempers those words with some negative message.

The more likely explanation for Obama’s anger is that he is tired of Michelle riding his butt about the election.

I continue to wonder how long Mrs. Obama has been a member of Trinity Church. It has been assumed that she and Barak joined at the same time, but she if a lifelong resident of the Southside of Chicago, and her personality absolutely boils with the teachings of black liberation theology. I am beginning to believe she was already a member of Trinity when she met her husband, and that she was one of the primary reasons he joined that church.

Senator Obama has known the Rev Wright for more than 20 years, but he was forced to end their friendship last week over repeated claims by his pastor that America was to blame for the 9/11 attacks and for spreading the Aids virus.

Why now?? Had he not been hearing this same hate filled speech for 20 years and agreed with it.

A poll on Saturday found 58 per cent of voters believe his de-nunciation of the Rev Wright was merely an act of political expediency.

We should ignore their questionable associations, behavior, rhetoric, etc. and just trudge behind them like good little soldiers. Bummer…it doesn’t work that way.

You’re sitting in church, Sunday after Sunday, for years, listening to Wright’s anti-white, anti-American, black liberation theology garbage. Didn’t it ever make you sick to listen to what he said? Or did it make you feel proud and empowered? I want to know how you felt, because if it didn’t make you sick, then there’s something wrong with you. And if it did make you sick and you continued to go, there’s something wrong with that too. And if you say you missed church on those days, that’s the worst answer because then you’re just flat out lying.

She did not say she thought Wright was off base. She said nothing. She could not being herself to speak ill of Wright because she believes in what he preaches. And she acknowledges those beliefs in her words and actions.

    That is an excellent post.

Why should Obama get angry that people are raising character questions? Typically, when people get angry at such things, it is because they are having their hypocrisy exposed.

When Jesus challenged the character of the religious frauds of His day, they got angry. But when they challenged Jesus’ character, He asked them “Which one of you convicts Me of sin?”

Hypocrites get angry, but people who have nothing to hide point to their own lives as proof of their character (not to their carefully planned speeches), and they let it speak for itself.

Obama, on the other hand, doesn’t want you to look at his actions, just his words.

Aww, poor thing. Why does she feel the need to tell people this? Why would anyone care why he’s angry about the questions? It’s a PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN, for gosh sakes! These people really are elitist jerks…you can’t use his middle name, you can’t call him a liberal, you can’t criticize him for anything. Because, if you do…he’s going to get mad!!! And then what? It sounds almost threatening, actually…what exactly is he going to do, Mrs. Obama? Not be our President since we’re all being mean to him? That’ll teach us…ha! Guess her genitalia is getting a little upset too…maybe it stands in solidarity with the protestor’s?

Besides all that, consider WHAT he is angry about. He obviously didn’t reach such a “boiling point” listening to the radical pastor and his offensive remarks for 20 years, or hanging out with the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. Nope…the radical remarks and actions of his friends don’t anger him, but having people ask HIM about it does.

I have a question for everyone that thinks anger must always be controlled and never, ever displayed.

Is there never a time for rightous anger?

What I mean specifically is that there are times in this life that one not only could get angry about, but perhaps should get angry about.

A previous poster refered to Jesus getting angry with religious frauds of the day. In fact, when He saw the perversion of the Temple taking place he nearly tore up the place. That was a rightous anger at something that should never have happened.

Today we have people in this country that act in a manner, it seems, to undermine personal liberty, national security, our wallets, etc.

When confronted with individuals whose policies and practicies are contrary to all that you hold dear, don’t you think anger is not only natural, but the right response?

Remember, it is not that you get angry, it is what you do next. Anger alone is not a sin, but wrongful actions while angry are.

To those who believe McCain dropped the c-bomb on his wife, I’d like a better source than the maroon that dropped the c-bomb at that gathering.

His character should be in question as well as his associations and help give us a measure of any candidate seeking public office. Being buddies with a Weather Underground Terrorist (or at least being required to kiss his ring before being anointed for public office), going to an angry Black racist church for over 20 years, the repulsive Reverend Wright being his spiritual advisor, the ease at which he through his grandmother under the bus as a “typical white person,” his “F” rating by the NRA, and his lack luster voting record show me all I really need to know about this empty suit. I disagree. Obama’s unscripted sessions with the press (Q+A) have been becoming more and more uncomfortable to watch, including an unacceptable amount of pregnant pauses, umms and ahhs, fumbling for the right words, and broken trains of thought.

I contend that President GW Bush’s unscripted speaking, from 1999 until the end of 2003, was of much higher quality then Obama’s current abilities.

I have a character question for Obummer. Why don’t you hold a press conference and squealch all of the talk about rioting, if you don’t get the nomination, or if you lose the election, Or are you going to wait until there is rioting before you stand up and say it angers you? You had the chance to stand up to Rev Wrong, but you waited until he threw you under his church bus before you commented on it.
These talks of possible riotings are the left’s way of intimidating people to vote for you, and you can’t say with a straight face that you haven’t heard about the talk making the airwaves.
For the sake of an argument, let’s suppose you haven’t actually heard the political conversations on tv, where someone said that they were fearful of a riot, if you lost out. I’m sure some one on your staff has. If you’re any kind of a politician, you have one person monitoring the tv, another the newspapers, and a couple covering the conservative radio talk shows. If there are any liberal radio shows, they won’t mention it.
Why don’t you tell the talk to stop? Don’t give me this freedom of speech crap, either. Talk like that is the same as crying FIRE in a crowded theater, which isn’t covered by Free Speech. What say you, Mr. Obama?

This is a quote from an article in the NY times on 4/30/07 that can be found Here. Obama knew that people would find out about the anti-American and hateful racist bilge this “pastor” had been spewing for years. Obama knew that any decent person that loves this country wouldn’t want a President with a spiritual guide and moral mentor of this caliber. He clearly agrees with Wright that they would have to “publicly” distance themselves. No one will ever convince me that Obama wasn’t lying when he said he had never hear Wright say those things. And no one will convince me that they have privately distanced themselves either.
