McCain to speak at open-borders La Raza (“The Race”) conference
The John McCain campaign celebrated Cinco de Mayo today by launching a Spanish-language version of its website–and announcing that McCain will speak at the annual conference of the National Council of La Raza (that’s “The Race”). The campaign justifies his appearance by framing it as a gesture of inclusiveness and outreach that is “part of his commitment to talking with all Americans.” Yes, they see it as an act of tolerance to legitimize the militantly open-borders, anti-immigration enforcement, ethnic nationalists who call themselves “The Race.”
From the press release:
U.S. Senator John McCain today issued the following statement on Cinco de Mayo as his campaign announced several new Spanish efforts:
“Cinco de Mayo commemorates an important moment in the history of Mexico’s path to freedom. On this day in 1862, a small group of Mexican troops overcame overwhelming force to win the Battle of Puebla. Today, we join together to remember the sacrifice that these Mexican patriots endured, as well as the struggles of all those around the world striving for freedom. We recognize as well the important friendship that exists between our country and Mexico, and celebrate the many contributions Mexican-Americans have made to our society, culture, security and economy.”
The Cinco de Mayo statement can now also be found on the Spanish section of the official campaign website at http://espanol.johnmccain.com, which the campaign launched today. This part of the website will feature regular updates in Spanish throughout the election.
Finally, as part of his commitment to talking with all Americans during this presidential campaign, the McCain presidential campaign announced that John McCain will attend the La Raza Annual Convention in San Diego on July 14, 2008.
As I noted in February, McCain is La Raza’s voice in Washington.
Let me again remind you about what I reported:
You want straight talk? McCain’s tongue says he’s “listened and learned.” But his heart is with La Raza, the militantly ethnocentric, anti-immigration enforcement Hispanic lobbying group that honored him in 1999 and whose annual conference he keynoted in 2004…
…Crooked talk: He says he’ll build the fence.
Straight talk: He resents what he calls the “goddamned fence.”
John McCain and La Raza-The Race share a deep-seated contempt for grass-roots conservatives who worked successfully to defeat the disastrous amnesty bill. And they share a common impulse to marginalize their political opponents as “haters.”
Thus, La Raza-The Race has launched a new “We Can Stop the Hate” campaign–smack dab in the middle of the campaign season–to redefine tough policy criticism from the Right as “hate.” They protest that it is “racist” and out-of-bounds to talk about reconquista–even as the McCain campaign boasts a “Mexico First/”Just A Region”/”Free Flow of People” outreach director who’s practicing it out in the open for the leading GOP presidential front-runner.
Yes, an ethnic separatist group that calls itself “The Race”–a group that has embraced John McCain and vice versa–has the gall to crusade against “hate.” Chris Kelly notes that La Raza-The Race head Janet Murguia is calling for networks to keep immigration enforcement proponents off the airwaves and that both La Raza-The Race and another open-borders group are pushing for Fairness Doctrine policies to shut up their foes.
Read it:
Ms. Murguia argued that hate speech should not be tolerated, even if such censorship were a violation of First Amendment rights: “Everyone knows there is a line sometimes that can be crossed when it comes to free speech. And when free speech transforms into hate speech, we’ve got to draw that line. And that’s what we’re doing here today. And we need to make sure that network executives will hold their people accountable and not cross that line.”
Murgia praised McCain and looks forward to the “tapering down” of immigration enforcement efforts if he wins the White House: “With his emergence as a leading Republican presidential primary contender, I do think that we’ll see this toned down… Does it mean that we know everything he’s going to do in that area of reform? And I know he’s got his work cut out for him with a number of people, and we’ll see him put this whole platform together, but we do believe that if he ends up being in a lead role here, we think that that issue will be tapered down.”
No respect for the rule of law. No respect for the First Amendment.
Like John McCain said: “I’ll rely on people to judge me by the company that I keep.”
The company John McCain keeps:
Russ Feingold.
Teddy Kennedy.
Lindsay Grahamnesty.
Juan “Mexico First/Free Flow” Hernandez.
Jerry “Spanish first” Perenchio.
Geraldo Rivera.
La Raza.
Charles Keating.
John Kerry.
The New York Times.
***
Will Juan Hernandez be there to cheer his man on?
Keep McCain’s decision to speak to “The Race” convention in mind the next time he sanctimoniously rushes to the liberal media condemn conservatives as racists for having the audacity to bring up Jeremiah Wright or demand strict immigration enforcement.
***
Back in February, Victor Davis Hanson wrote incisively about the ethnic hatred La Raza and its satellites foment. He also observed: “By November I don’t know why either Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama should not have been asked to repudiate the support of an organization self-described as “The National Council of The Race.”
How about McCain?

Which candidate, which poison? They’re all going to leave our nation in worse shape when they leave office.
And he is our only choice for a republican president!?!?!? Blech How did this a$$hat get nominated anyway?
I am writing in Ronald Regan.. I bet he sees his mistake when he allowed them to stay. I wish Mccain would see it too
It doesn’t matter how McCain’s campaign phrases it . . .what does he have to lose – Conservatives voting for Clinton or BHO instead? . . .like that would make a difference. Sigh. Face it, we are stuck between a rock and a hard place with this election as it stands now.
So, I guess he’ll be speaking at KKK rallies, too…right? They are technically “Americans” and they also use race as a filter.
You mean, all the illegal immigrants who McCain gives precedence to over US citizens’ safety and financial well being.
McCain keeps making it harder and harder for me to hold my nose and vote for him.
You gotta give him credit for standing up for the hard-lined extremist fringe element in his party who believe that laws on the books should–are you ready for this?–enforced.
I am seriously starting to wonder if McCain is really the “lesser of 2 evils”.
You gotta give him credit for standing up
forto the hard-lined extremist fringe element in his party who believe that laws on the books should–are you ready for this?–enforced.I wonder, would Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama do a better job on illegal immigration than John McCain? Would they keep their distance from La Raza?
My point is this: The next President of the United States will hold a position on illegal immigration we will oppose. And I’d rather that next President be President McCain.
I’ve said it once, I’ve said it around 1000 times now…Juan McAmnesty will NEVER EVER get my vote for POTUS. As long as he is sucking up to La Raza and Juan Hernadez, in my eyes he is nothing but a traitor to the US. I honestly don’t know how Juan ever got the nomination!
On another topic, how is it that La Raza (“The Race”) even allowed to operate in this country? Can you imagine if a group of German people called them self “The Race”? How would that go over? Like a lead balloon more than likely!
Nothing like the politics of division to unite the masses huh?
why does McInsane pander to the Mexican People?
Doesn’t this jerk ever learn? He called anyone opposing his beloved June amnesty a bigot or worse, and after getting stomped by America’s reaction he dives into the illegal alien cesspool again. Somebody called him the least objectionable Democrat running. Sounds like a bullseye to me. As for me, I’m writing in Fred Thompson rather than agonize over which half of a excrement sandwich I want to bite into in November. We are hosed no matter who crawls into the White House next year.
To me, it is clear and unarguable that McCain holds conservatives in low regard.
Fixed. Good point, though.
#4:
Vote Libertarian.
McInsane is a traitor to our Sovereignty
McCain was once a Great American Hero in my eyes but after this I have nothing for him.
Hey John!!!! Independents don’t want amnesty either!
Somebody please explain to me how Washington (the R’s in particular) can be so poll focused and be so friggin blind on this one. It’s obvious why the left wants to pander to illegals in order to build another dependency group voting block. But the American people (voters) are overwhelmingly against illegal immigration and for securing the borders now!
It is a guaranteed winner in November!!!
WAKE UP!
I have said several times, we have got to see it that true consertivies are elected to the house and senate. If the dem’s get the majority, the US is gonna be just a precious memory no matter which of the three is elected. The way things are going with some elections, my memory of my beloved country is down the tubes.
L
What’s the spanish word for pandering? Mr. McCain, you must realize that centrist and independent voters are not going to vote for you with your record on illegal immigration. They’ll go for a write-in or third party candidate instead.
McCain is doing his best to lose the NC primary. I’m seriously considering casting my ballot for Ron Paul to get his attention (though I don’t think it will work as he won’t admit that he needs a hearing aide when he can’t hear you tell him that he needs one).
That said, I offer spanish language health insurance that is affordable. I intend to market to them as well. They are clogging up the emergency rooms and we need to get them SOME coverage so that the taxpayers don’t have to pay for them until they are ALL DEPORTED.
Yes, I do believe that we CAN deport them all. . . and we SHOULD. We need a guest worker program, but who would sign up for a guest worker program when they can get citizenship if the break the law instead of follow it.
The McCain ‘swear to uphold the constitution’ really only applies to people who are NOT American – seeing as how McCain is not a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. I appreciate that he ‘feels the pain’ of people not BORN IN THE USA. . . he probably also feels inferior to the illegal alien babies who WERE born in the USA thereby making them more American than McCain. Maybe he holds his views out of jealousy and admiration for the ‘real’ American citizens – babies of illegals and nobody else.
I actually chewed out one of our Squadron’s junior NCOs this morning for wishing me a Happy Cinco de Mayo today. I told him I only celebrate American holidays not those of Mexico. I think I am losing my sense of humor for the unwelcome guests from south of the border and this multi-cultural crap being shoved down my throat. Leave to Senator McAmnesty to kiss the butt of “The Race.”
This weekend we had two carloads of unwelcome guests of questionable legality empty out and assault a couple of unarmed teenagers in town. One kid was shot the other stabbed with one “life flighted” to Boise and is thankfully expected to recover. The local cops found them thanks to their California plates and raided the house where they holed up in after their asymmetrical attack. Come to find out our little military town in the middle of nowhere Idaho now has an LA gang problem. The Mayor is trying to keep the lid on this, but word is getting out fast and the locals are not happy. Another example of how our political overlords refuse to protect and inform the very people that put them in office.
Keep pandering to the illegal invaders from Mexico Juan and see how that works out for you at the ballot box in November.
When I vote this year, there will be no selection for President. I’m only voting for House, and Senate, and local issues.
Whomever becomes President will not be representing my best interests, and none of them are the lesser evil. They are all equally bad for this nation.
How a man who went through what he did, in defense of this nation against communism, can now do so much to ruin it, is beyond me!!
Is McCain so deep in the pockets of “globalists” that all else does not matter? Including the sovereignty of his own nation?!?!?
I’m really sorry that I had to live to see this come to pass!!!
To McCain supporters and apologists…. enjoy what you have chosen…. as for me and mine…. we’ll fight this leftist one horse pony.
You’re right, letget. A good way to deal with President McCain and illegal immigration, or either President Obama or Clinton II (God please forbid).
And I care about a Holiday important to Mexico… why???? Does Mexico celebrate our July 4th? President’s day? I might not find this so disgusting were they not words uttered by a so called conservative, who has no words to offer the American citizens as to why he will do NOTHING to stop the illegal invasion of our southern border. The ONLY reason I am voting for this RINO is that 2 Supreme Court nominations will be on the block in the next 4 years. That represents a priceless opportunity of undoing much of the mess that has been visited on the US by the S Ct for the past 3 1/2 decades. Otherwise McCain is an arrogant Republican trojan horse.
Juan McShamnesty has never been our friend, and wont be. A vote for him is just as vile as one for Hillary or Obama. At this point, i’m going to write in (insert favorite disney character here)…Captain Jack Sparrow, anyone? At least we know what he’s all about. LOL
Oh, and Thacker..he IS upholding the Constitution.
The Mexican Constitution, that is.
one trick pony …..sorry
To borrow a well-used quote: A date which will live in infamy…..
Considering the opposition, choosing McCain is enjoyable. I’m ready to fight him when the time comes on the issues at hand. Opposing McCain now is about as good as campaigning for Hillary or Obama.
I never thought a Republican could make Hillary look moderate.
You have GOT to be sh*tting me.
Unbelievable.
I don’t need to repeat myself..BUT I will, I Will NOT vote for this traitor….
Michele did you see the front page story in The Boston Globe about the surge in Illegal Immigrant births in MA? We have already lost the war to mexico by default…They are doing as instructed and having a multitude of children here on our dime …They will overtake this country easier than fighting a war…STUPID PIGS like McCain have caused the ruination of a once great country! Anyone who votes for any of these clowns is ann accessory to the END of the USA!!!Senor Kennedy has plenty to sing about as he fills the country with illiterate peasants in need of our tax money to live…say goodbye to your standard of living…it is “already gone” as the band the Eagles would say……….
Looks like the pollos are coming home to roost.
Well in MHO, Hillary vs BHO will effectively destroy the Democrat party, (and not a moment too soon).
McCain will single handedly destroy (what is left of)the Republican party.
Time to think ahead. I don’t know what the next party will call it self, but I predict the platform will be, Borders, Language & Culture! with some tax relief thrown in for good measure.
I hope it doesn’t get so bad that candidates start running on the “law & order” platform again, but the way things are going…
Will it matter who is President when we can’t even recognize our country anymore?
McCain puts illegal aliens above conservatives. It is a travesty that he is our nominee.
McCain can kiss goodbye whatever conservative vote he was ever going to get.
What a joke this election season has beem. Ugh.
I’m getting bored with the “being against McCain is for Obama/Clinton”. This canard is insulting to those of us who see the threat of socialism and collectivism greater and more long term than tomorrow. Because I do not support McCain does not mean I’ll vote for the other two….but integrity, values and , yes, patriotism are far more complex than avoiding a 4 year penalty for not being a RINO supporter.
This reminds me of McCain’s “lettuce” argument. I guess in November we’ll have two choices: arugula or lettuce.
OUTSTANDING!!!
The candidate that the La Raza Unida party selected to run for Texas Gov. in 1972 & ’74 (Ramsey Muniz) was convicted of drug trafficking and sentenced to life in prison w/o the possibility of parole.
A real class act bunch of people that La Raza party.
They ought to fit right in with McCain..
.
Fixed that for you.
Its going to be ugly this November. The conservative vote is going to be nonexistent for this man, and I think a lot of the Dems and Independents McCain continues to pander to will vote for Obama. He is a fool for continuing to give the middle finger to his base, and its mind-boggling that he thinks these moderates out there will vote for him over the Messiah. It ain’t gonna happen.
You’re missing the point. If you and more like you don’t vote for the “R” candidate this November 2nd, then A president Obama is what you’re (and the rest of us all is) going to get.
It’s too bad that this simple fact hurts your feelings, or makes you bored, with this attitude and this action, it’s going to happen.
Will someone please ask Mr.McCain if his LaRaza friends support and endorse this:
http://www.aztlan.net/brown_berets_de_aztlan.htm
Not supporting McCain doesn’t mean you’ll vote for the Democrats, MNUSMCDavid, but it’s just as bad. If McCain doesn’t win, it’ll be the Democrat who wins.
Nobody else will win in 2008, and if the Democrats do win the White House and retain control of Congress, it will be much more difficult for conservatives during the next four years.
Bottom line, if they get elected and not McCain, socialism and collectivism will become more of a reality in the next four years.
Talk about the lesser of two evils? I do not know which is worse … the fact that we are already there or the fact that at this stage of the game, it almost seems like a refreshing change of pace.
I’ve always said I’ll vote for McShame just because of the troops.
But he isn’t making it easy.
No, I understand the point perfectly. You are missing mine. I assume my country to last longer than four years. I want it to be able to fight this hegemony from illegals and the sharia types. I don’t want Obama to be president but I can’t accept that McCain will protect MY country.
I dunno – maybe some of the more hardcore conservatives have some sort of scortched-earth policy in mind where they see a President Obama or Clinton for 4 years – as a way to get a more conservative president next.
I’d personally like to smack around all the republicans in Iowa, New Hampshire, all of the states who voted for McCain and gave him the momentum. When the primary came to my state, he was already ahead, and my vote was meaningless, swept away by all the other knuckle heads who voted for McCain. I’d like to see the primary rules changed.
It sucks.
You know what doesn’t suck? The democrats infighting between Hillary and Barack. That’s a wonderful gift to us.
It sucks that (an no thanks to McCain, I know) republicans are giving the gift of infighting and division to the democrats.
I do NOT think we even need a president.
None are worthy and all are selling out our country.
What’s in this for US, the citizens?
Do we have a voice??????
McCain-Feingold? McCain-Kennedy? Speaking at a LaRaza event? These are the types of things that Republicans would usually use to argue against a candidate. None of the three likely candidates are fit to represent people on a city council, and one of them will be POTUS.
wise-man…. I understand, and that IS a poison we are being asked to swallow…. and that sucks, big time!
Southpaw is right on!
Anyone that doesn’t think this will eventually come to blows (read: shooting) needs to dial back the mescaline.
Oh wait…we’ve been in an undeclared shooting war with MS13 for years. Never mind.
If cementheads like McCain’t Gonna Build The Fence only knew about the company AZTLAN keeps (e.g., “Free Palstine,” “9/11 was an inside job”) they would see the err of their ways and…
…BWAAAAAHAHAHAHA! What world is that going to happen in?
By 2050 there will be 125-150 million Hispanics in the US; most from Mexico. In about one hundred years the USA will be as productive as Mexico. And we are watching it happen under our noses. Hey here is a radical thought: no more immigration- period -for at least 10 years, deportation all all illegals; immediate and RETROACTIVE roll back of the assanine law that says a child born here is automatically an American citizen. No public assistance for more than 90 days without proof of citizenship. 90 days should be enough time to leave the country and return to Mexico. Minimum 6 months in jail for anybody employing illegals. Alas, what a pipe dream. My next fanatsy..impeaching en masse the entire Congress, and the President.
#52 gayle
“Do we have a voice?”
I would say no but I never give up!
BTW – the illegals here in CA get a free education including college or university – did you?
They get free medical – do you?
To ALL:
This Froggy is jupming out of the slowly boiling water-
NO LESSER OF TWO EVILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frankly, the thought of four years of “national malaise” concerns me. And in a time like this with the threat of Islamic terrorism, another four years of “national malaise” could result in another 9/11 (or worse) on our soil. That more than concerns me, come to think of it. It freaking frightens me.
McCain seems to be concerned with insuring “inclusion” with every group except the conservatives in his own party.
Apparently, he is not bothered by the Newark murders, the murder of the LA football star, the serial rapist in the Phoenix area, the daily vehicular homicides and other sufferings of US citizens at the hands of illegal aliens.
And the latest – the multiple rapes of a mentally impaired teenage girl: http://www.sheboygan-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080503/SHE0101/805030440/1062/SHEnews.
I have yet to hear LaRaza condemning any of these crimes or offering some sort of comfort to the victims or their families. Why should they? The Race believes gringos to be inferior and not worthy of their attention.
Put quite simply, La Raza is a racist organization. I cannot imagine any candidate pandering to a white or black organization with a similar platform and history. They show utter disdain for America and Americans, and have proved time and time again that they believe themselves eititled to all of the rights and privileges of citizens with none of the responsibilities. McCain in his “straight talk” prides himself as a man of principles. Apparently, his principles permit him to sacrifice US citizens for hispanic votes.
that would be …..
jumping out of the slowly boiling water-
I’d like to see legal immigration doubled, and our existing laws on deportation of illegal immigrants enforced. I’d like to see the federal government go after sanctuary cities, and fine them a million dollars a day until they comply with federal law.
There is no reason to punish legal immigration, simply enforce our laws. Unfortunately, I don’t see this as a remote possibility for the near future.
LOL….I’m so stealin’ that.
another reason not to vote for him.
As for those who will support him to support the troops-keep in mind that as fewer and fewer Americans volunteer for military service, that our military and national guard will be even more made of illegals and prison inmates.
When all these policies the libs support come home to roost, the guy who may come knocking on your door may be one of them….after all it was under Bill Clinton/Bush I that the idea of destroying posse comitatus was popular amongst the libs when one of their policies runs amok (that they refuse to acknowldege was the cause of their problem)-like the LA Riots of 1992-the majority of thefts/crimes committed by Hispanics.
Thank goodness Michelle has not gone over to the dark side. I have already given up on Hannity. The value of not having McCain win this election is that there will still be some hope for the Republican party. They can regroup for 2010 and 2012. If McCain wins, the Democrats will have trumped any Republican opposition.
Since we are stuck with only two political parties I will do what I can to keep one of them a viable choice for conservatives. That means dumping McCain. Let him run for President of Panama.
Just like Rush with his Operation Chaos throwing support for Hillary-He says the demorats voted for McCain and I believe it…They were trying very hard to defeat Romney because he was stronger than McCain…So when you agonize over the picking of McCain just remember he was NOT chosen by Conservatives…!!!! Thus conservatives will NOT vote for him. Those that think he will be better than either of the other two are woefully clueless…They are all the same. They are all Globalists…McCain will no more support and protect the troops than he protected this country from the INVASION from Mexico. What needs to be done is to arrive en masse at a legitimate third party candidate whom we can all vote for…I’d even vote for Ron Paul before I’d vote for that scum bag traitor McCain. Maybe one will rise from the ashes…and we are ASHES!!Especially if we vote for any one of the three !
The big problem with this is that we are foundering under the weight of 12 million+/- illegals. We need a moratorium until deportations have made a huge dent in that number. Further we need skilled, professional immigrants. We have enough unskilled American citizens; we dont need Mexico’s or anybody else’s.
Exactly.
I don’t see anything different in this than the politician that was attending the neo Nazi conference recently. But, maybe that’s next on McCain’s list who knows. Unable to identify anti American groups and or symbols, yep, the leftards have body snatched Mr. McCain.
I’d like to believe that but I don’t. Just as real conservatives from upstate NY put Hilary in the Senate, conservatives of some ilk that I dont understand handed McFraud the Republican nomination.
Mister P, I can’t give up now. We can still regroup for 2010 and 2012, working to make the Republican Party more conservative. But to not support McCain is almost tantamount to giving up the 2008 election. And I repeat, I can’t give up.
Grand Ol’ Party? It’s going to be the Grand Ol’ Surprised Party come November.
This is the first presidential general election I will not be voting in since becoming eligible to vote.My first vote was for Reagan by the way.I will not give money to nor support open borders candidates like McCain.I will vote down the ballot.Victor Hanson won’t condem McCain because that’s his guy,his team so to speak.
I voted for Arnold to be our Governor and look what that got me. A Democrat running the office. I refuse to vote for a Democrat just because he’s got an “R” behind his name. I’m voting for Newt! Screw McInsane.
Morgan Why do you want put a dagger to your throat? The Presidential race is DONE-get over it. Our mutual responsibilty NOW is to regroup and support candidates who SUPPORT our views and DEFEAT those who do not…period.
Those of us remember the battles with the DEms and Gun Control how we were sold out by Bob Dole in 1996, when after he got the REpublican nomination and the endorsement of the NRA, Bob Dole said he wasn’t going to do anything for the NRA and one of his ding dong aides said about gun owners “..where are the (pro-gun) people going to go this Novemeber”
Bob Dole, a kinder and gentler version of Juan McCain, was refused the keys to the White House.
Here in Germany, any political action group that would adopt the title “THE (!) Race” would probably generate a public firestorm and be declared illegal in a matter of days. I find it very hard to understand, why a group like that is even allowed to operate in the US and why it gets so much positive press (and indirect support from a GOP candidate, no less).
The NRA had the INTEGRITY to recind their endorsement of Bob Dole.
I am seeing to many so-called “conservative” organizations and personalities like Hannity grovel for “Republican love at any price”.
that’s too many
I still have hope McCain won’t turn out like Schwarzenegger, Mr. Ansell. It’s a risk I have to take.
And if we vote for another worthless republican again, we’ll only get another worthless choice in 4 or 8 years.
I think the entire Senate should be forced to wear togas and sandals.
I’ll take Caligula’s horse over any of the three frontrunners.
At least if McCain wins the presidency I won’t have to genuflect to BHO.
Why not just vote Michelle in as pres?
At least we know where she stands on the issues.
I agree on what our mutual responsibility is, but unlike yourself no doubt, love2rumba, I don’t see McCain as being as bad as either Democratic hopeful. And thus, this race is not done as far as I’m concerned…period.
My FRiends, judge me by the company I keep.
(/snortle)
McCain is a disgrace to the party and America in general (military service not withstanding). He says “but they are God’s children”. Which means to me that the American middle class doesn’t belong to that group.
I will never vote for McCain or support the republican party as long as they pander to open borders types. Nevaaaaaaaah!
The GOP solicited me via mail for a donation. Needless to say, I sent them some Amero’s on their postage dime to boot.
I will vote the under ticket and not support any Presidential candidate who doesn’t reflect my views. That means I wont’ be casting a Presidential vote.
If the dems win so be it. At least they are up front, as a party, on where they stand on open borders.
We will never take the GOP back unless we give them a giant case of “tough love”.
With the choices we have, it’s not an election at all.
love2rumba #74… I hear you. & 76 cue Debbie S. in 3… 2… 1…
Chris #75… It is the American way… prop em up till they turn on you, then act surprised, indignant, and then finally crush them. Not very efficient, but ultimately effective.
because our mainstream press consists of 100% far FARRR left liberal, secular and insane people. If it is bad for America they support it all the way. I dont know about Germany my friend, but America has lost its way, infested with and dying from the cancer called liberalism.
Kind of ironic the dems are having such a battle picking their own candidate when they had no trouble at all crossing over in open primaries and getting the Maverick in the GooP slot.
Anyone who doubts he will seek to do for the US what aRnold has done for Kaleefornijaaa is just plain out of touch, imo
Politicians will say anything to get elected and pander at will to any group, McCain is no different.
Just when I’d resigned myself to having to vote for Cain (think about that one) something like this rises to the surface and puts me at odds with what used to pass for common sense on my part. Ok, we in the b’sphere put the hurt on Kennedy/McCain bill last time around….I’m going to forward MM’s article to every person in my address book. Then I’m going to pay a visit to McCain’s website and leave a message. At this point, I’m not at all sure who the devil is? Better to let the Dems win and destroy the country wholly in 4 yrs, or piecemeal it to death by the Repubs?
How about bombarding his site and campaign HQ with e-mails and phone calls. Make it clear that if he does not cease and desist with this and other garbage, he will not get your vote in November.
You all put him where he is today, now remind him who he works for.
So glad I’m out of the Navy now, and don’t have to take the chance of being forced to salute McCain.
Should I remind all that Ron Paul is still in the running? He goes by the Constitution when he votes. It warrants a good Google search and read on him, would be a better alternative to John McCain????
Guys, calm down.
He just wasn’t talking to you. When it comes time for him to talk to conservatives or independents, he’ll tell us that he did learn his lesson back on June 28th, last year. He did hear the people of America when we shut the phones lines at the Capitol. He does get it, and will do something.
But right now, he’s talking to La Raza, and that’s between them. We’ll have our turn to hear him shortly, don’t worry. He’ll tell us what we want to hear (even if he has no intentions of acutally doing it.)
Right now, he’s just got to make sure they’re on board with him too.
/sarcasm off
Seriously, though- this is what we get for allowing the media to pick the candidates. This is what we get for allowing senators to take the spots. The short memories of the American voter is the reason our politicians remain in office.
And we DID allow the media to do it. All weekend long, I watched them try as hard as they can to get Romney in there for VP. Romney doesn’t want it, but the media does, so they’ll spin it as if Romney is thinking about it, so we’ll all just jump on board. People will call his office and beg for it, because they eat whatever BS the media feeds them.
So this is what we get…there are too few people paying attention- and I mean adding liberals, conservatives and independents together. MOST people are not paying attention. And because of that, America suffers the hands of liberal senators who are pretending to run something.
Well McCain has definitely lost my vote now.
blue, i couldnt vote for Paul in good conscience either. His absolute cut and run notion for Iraq, among other things, really turns me off from him as a candidate. He has some good ideas, i’ll grant that, but…he has some really off ideas, and the good ones he does have, i dont believe, he could get off the ground with the congress we have in place.
I’m not saying someone should off the open borders SOB, but if it happened I wouldn’t shed any tears. If any of you people out there plan on voting for him, your idiots.
I use to call Mc895, McSame. But I think him graduating 895 out of a 900 member college class gives one a better idea about the man. For those of this forum who are knowledgeable of a bell curve the significance of my message is clear. How did he graduate so high. It was a favor to his father and grand father: the first pair of father/son Four-Star admirals in the United States Navy. So, last trip around I voted for Bush because I would not vote for Kerry. This time around I will not vote for Obama, this time around I will not vote for jiHillary, and this time around I will not vote for Mc895. To vote for either of these three would be aiding and abetting incompetence. I will vote for other ballot items and positions but none of these charlatans.
Murguia concept of free speech works in Mexico and the Nation of Islam but not in my America and not by a raciest such as she who thinks her DNA is more important than the Constitution of the United States. But obvious Mc895′s kind of gal who will tell Republican Conservatives to shut up and site down.
As Ron White says: you can’t fix stupid, and I’ll add you can’t fix Mc895.
Just emailed his campaign…
IF he attends this even, he looses my vote…
I was holding my nose because of the opposition…
Its now HIS choice.
bluekitty222, should I remind you that John McCain has the nomination secured; therefore Ron Paul has lost the race?
Even if the primary race wasn’t over, Ron Paul isn’t a good alternative to McCain. Those Paul supporters who point out McCain’s flaws on illegal immigration forget Paul’s flaws involve foreign policy. He would allow Islamic terrorists opportunities to attack us on our own soil, creating more 9/11s.
It is because of this alone that not only would I not vote for Ron Paul, I would campaign against him. We don’t need a President who buries his head in the sand when it comes to foreign policy.
#22: the word you are looking for is ‘hispandering’.
#52: Yes, our voice is found in the House of Representatives. The election of president should never have been tied to the popular vote; that is, electoral votes should not be based on the popular vote. I know states are within their rights in selecting their electors however they choose, but it’s not what they had in mind almost 225 years ago.
