“Breaking news video:” Journalists ogle Obama
You know, when I read about this CNN video via Allahpundit yesterday, I threw up a little in my mouth. The clip of female journalists on a plane moaning as they watch Barack Obama talking on a cell phone was actually filed under “breaking news video” on the CNN website with the caption, “Obama in jeans: Sen. Barack Obama surprises the press corps by wearing jeans.”
Now, the video’s on YouTube. And it really should have a content warning advising viewers to watch it only on a completely empty stomach. Several members of the press corps yell at an agent to “sit down” because she’s obstructing their view. They giggle and sigh “You’re killing us” as he straddles across a row of seats and they furiously click away on their cameras.
Kneepads, ladies?

Despite the warning I just spewed my breakfast all over my laptop. Those reporters (and a large percentage of the American electorate) have the the presidential election confused with American Idol. We are doomed.
I get the bad feeling that the bias in this election will exceed the debacle we saw with Kerry/Bush and the whole smear on the honorable Swiftboaters.
It occurs to me that we, and more particularly, Michelle, are the thin electronic line between the appalling liberal bias permeating the media and the truth.

I live and work amongst daily newspaper folk, and was never more nauseated than when watching the Presidential election returns in 2000. I am having serious doubts about the competence of women in the public sphere. In the 20th century, when women won the vote, we have seen the West take a nosedive culturally, politically, and academically.
I began to have these doubts when Bill Clinton won in 1992 and I saw a Hollyweird bimbo (Marisa Tomei, I think) gushing about how “cute” he was and that’s why she voted for him. I started to wonder if other women vote for the same dumb reasons. This video confirms that.
Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink, Oprah, Katie Couric… It’s enough for me to consider the idea that women’s suffrage was a BAD idea.
When are girls going to grow up? It seems that the women of the early 20th century who fought for the right to vote were more mature than their counterparts of today. Indeed, I believe that Margaret Thatcher was an exception, not the rule.

I watched the video and I heard female “reporters” who are never going to make it in the journalistic world. They are probably very young, just out of college, and thinking they are accomplishing something, when their material will probably be dropped, for lacking any good content. Of course, this could have been just a “goof-off” session, relaxing between stops, which shows better class than all the name-calling I see here on this thread. Insulting each other scores no points, other than negative ones, and convinces no-one of your point of view. For me, though, it makes going through posts easier; I just skip the name-calling ones, since they offer nothing of content.

I agree librocrat. I was born and raised in the deep south and i was taught by my parents to never judge a person by the color of their skin but by the character of their heart and their actions. The crazy left has got some wild idea that if you are a person of color the world is against you when actually the world is stacked for you. Why is it ok the have a law saying you cannot discriminate on basis of race but you have to have qoutas ? Why is it ok that there is a black entertainment television but not a white one. If someone where to start a white entertainment channel there would be riots like the world has never seen. Yes, i think the liberals are racist if not why do we have all these laws contridicting each other. I think all men and women should be judge by their actions and deeds not the color of their skin but if we did that then the race baiters like Jackson, Sharpton, Wright, Farrakon, and other would have to get real jobs and do real work for a living.
graysonret, as to the substance of this thread, I think you’re right on point. As to your thoughts regarding the name calling, generally speaking I think you’re correct there as well. However, libocrat and undrseige are so utterly lacking in class and honor that they deserve absolutely no respect or common courtesy, and I won’t give it to them.
