McCain and La Raza/The Race: A “serious lapse of judgment”
The open-borders media has been AWOL on John McCain’s decision to speak to the radical racialist group, La Raza/The Race in July. He has been allowed to skate on the issue in several recent sit-down interviews. Many of the same pundits who blasted Barack Obama for his ties to the radical racialist Jeremiah Wright have nothing to say about McCain’s longtime association with the shamnesty-pushing, sovereignty-undermining, publicly-subsidized shakedown artists of La Raza/The Race.
Not everyone’s looking the other way. Editorial page editor Colin McNickle at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review warned today:
“McCain had made significant progress in reaching out to conservatives over the last month or so. But his La Raza embrace is a serious lapse of judgment, one of a number of lapses that, if the primaries are a valid indicator, could lead to a full quarter of the Republican electorate staying home on Nov. 4.”
Guess McCain’s counting on all his left-wing global warming fear-mongering friends to make up the difference.

I will be voting November 4th, just not for president. Juan McCain lost me months ago. In fact, I received a republican fund raising call earlier today, needless to say, I politely declined to help fund their invasion.
The ear mark McCain has no problem with. The Race.
It was Karl Rove’s decision to speak before the Razies that was the final straw for me regarding the Bush Administration. It is also the final straw as far as McCain is concerned. We would be having a fit if Obama did this (and perhaps he already has) — there is no way any Republican or American can give McCain a pass on this.
The Razies are our enemy. The goal of dealing with the enemy is not to hug him and sit down and have lunch with them, but to render them impotent over our lives. If McCain doesn’t understand this then he is a bigger fool that even I thought. Giving the Razies a sanction and a forum for their hatred is an act of treason against America. This country has had war heroes who became traitors. McCain would be well advised to avoid repeating their mistakes.
MdCain’s embrace of La Raza is not a “lapse”—-it is HIM.
LESSER OF TWO EVILS _ anyone!?!?
Happy Mothers’Day -all MOMS!
McCain’s……..
I used to think that perhaps, Vicente Fox had some really juicy photos of GWB in his younger hell-raising days.
Now I’m believing that McCain may have been with them on that junket.
Looks like either four years of a Democrat in La Casa Blanca, or Obama or Hillary.
Damn. Just damn.
I don’t think McCain can be made into a useful candidate for conservatives at this point, even if his only use is trying to defeat Obama.
I have been hit up for donations at least once a week since last year…when I started refusing to donate when the shamnesty bills were first being pushed.
I have since started, when I get their fundraising letters, to write in magic marker why I am not donating, and sending it to them with their pre-paid envelopes.
It’s interesting getting their phone calls. When you provide a couple details on why you won’t donate, even the callers know how indefensible the Republican positions are, and they don’t even try the hard sell.
The GOP needs to be punished severely. No money and no votes starting right now.
If anyone calls for a new party in November, I ask why not now!
I hear ya Republicanvet. I actually felt bad for the young lady fundraiser. I informed her that I had switched parties to “no affiliation” because of Shamnesty. She understood what the term meant.
Off topic, the Penguins are up 2 to 1 over Philadelphia Flyers. Sorry Michelle.
Yep. It is absolutely depressing. After Obama destroys the economy, maybe, just maybe the RNC will finally push for a conservative candidate. In the meantime, The SCOTUS will be filled with leftists unless some Republican senator with balls stops the confirmation hearings. So sad.
Damn! We coulda had Fred!
McCain is toast. Since Obamma is either 1/2 black or white he could walk away with the election if he would just say” the killing of Americans by illegals has got to stop. Bankrupting our country for criminals has got to stop. Keeping working Americans paycheck down has to stop. I therefore am going to do all in my power to build the fence and secure our borders.” He would pick up the 25% that McCain is flipping.
I don’t chew on them any…knowing they are not the ones setting policy, just letting them know why.
Arrgggh! Watching delayed on DVR…at 1-1…but 2-1 Penguins is fine with me.

Fixed it.
Yes the news media is once again asleep at the switch when it is a subject they want to promote. Personally Fox News/Bill Oreilly is looking more and more like CNN, and tabloidish too.
The one thing that is begginning to appear though for McCain is what a friggin fool he is…Business donors to George W. Bush aren’t backing McCain –they’re going Democrat this year.
When the illegal/legal mexicans vote this fall, does anyone really believe that the independents/libs are going to walk over to McCain when they could have Obama-a secure vote for what they want?
No they won’t-but they sure had fun using this fool.
Thanks for nothing John McCain
Referencing another post, McCain just wants to have a cuddle party with them. Gag me!!!!!
Hard to believe but it seems to get worse everyday, the country is going to hell.
We are so screwed.
For a year now, I have been doing the same thing with the requests from RNC…in red, “no money from this house until the borders are secure and immigration laws enforced”. I don’t even bother to fill out their little surveys which usually don’t have anything about illegal immigration on them.
McCain still doesn’t realize how many more voters he can lose from persisting in ignoring the wrath of Americans about illegals. Paybacks are hell; he’ll lose our votes. Holding our nose won’t be enough.
Paraphrasing Rush, all he has to do now is convince conservatives to cross over and vote for McCain.
McCain might need an “October Surprise” to be elected at this point. Strategic bombing in Iran sparked by a “Gulf of Tonkin Incident” anyone?
enough of Juan Mcamnesty and his throwing good American’s to the Dog’s .

Red wings up 2 over Dallas …..

Stanley Cup anyone!
ie:#4 on topic: again…Lesser of Two Evils —anyone?!!!
McCain has made it clear he doesn’t want to do anything about sanctuary citites. He always says to secure the border first. Then he starts spouting that we need more temporary workers and we have to be sympathetic to all these poor people (criminals) who came here illegally. We can’t just send them back. That would be too harsh. Never figured out why illegals can break the law, but anybody here has to go to jail or pay a fine when they break the law. I will not send any monet to R.N.C. for any reason. Any Republican I support will get money directly, but not through R.N.C. I have also told the Texas Republican Party the same thing. I do not want my money going for anyone supporting illegal behavior. I am already paying too many taxes supporting them.
MAVERICK doesn’t need your vote. MAVERICK has La Raza!
I will not be voting for McShame. He lost me when he said if the ammenisty bill came before him as president he would sign it. To me that is giving my country away and going against what we the American people have said we are against. He prides himself on reaching accross the aisle to liberals why does he not reach to the base of the party he is running under.
All the canidates keep saying they have plans for change. What i want to hear is the plan to change this country back to a secure sovern nation. I do not care if it breaks up families, causes mass riots, or even for people to feel like they are evil. I want the laws enforced. They knew they where breaking our laws when they came here. If they have no more respect for our laws than that i have no respect or remorse for them. They get what they deserve.
As much as I hate McCain’s view on illegals, I hate Obama’s view on nearly everything… but since he only knows the word “change” we really don’t know what all he has in mind anyway.
Just remember the outrage during Shamnesty, we beat it down then, we can do it again as necessary.
I will be voting for McCain… because this is who we are stuck with. To send a message to the Republicans by staying at home and not voting will be a vote for Obama.
Remember that.
Get a load of this: South Bend, Indiana Police Department held an open hand-gun training orientation Saturday, training a class of about 30 women, the eldest an 83 year old that keeps a .38 Smith hidden under her shirt! This was held only 15 minutes away from the Cinco De Mayo celebration!!! Arrrrrghhh!! I’m gonna suggest next year they hold it AT the Cinco de Mayo Fest!!
I’m pretty sure this McCain believes that I (a conservative) will vote for him because he’s the chosen one and I have no other rational choice.
If that’s what he believes, he’s wrong.
He may or may not become the next President, but either way it will be without my vote.
To quote Rush Limbaugh, “We are so screwed.”
When did this happen?
P.S. The only joy for me in watching this election cycle unfold is Rush’s OPERATION CHAOS.
The libs and MSM jammed our candidate down our throats by fawning over McCain and ignoring the true conservatives who would have been good Presidents.
Now it’s our turn to laugh while El Rushbo keeps the libs churning and fighting over their pick, right into the convention.
I’l vote for McCain. if and when he names…a single Mexican, currently listed in the Mexico City Phone Book, who will not be offered citizenship, under his ‘Plan”.
McCain is banking on getting a significant Hispanic vote to make up for all the conservatives he lost by supporting Dem causes. Question: What if Obama picks Bill Richardson for VP? WWMD? (What Will McCain Do?)
McCain has not changed his position on illegal immigration any more than a leopard can change his spots … just this past week in the interview with Bill O’Reilly he began using the term “comprehensive reform” openly again … and we all know that means “”amnesty” no matter the verbal semantics used to try to disguise it …
Perhaps now that we are stuck with McCain as the “lesser of evils” folks will understand why I have been calling for a National Primary Day instead of the drawn out process we go through now which allowed the MSM to dictate who was able to stay in after only a few states had been to the polls.
Until every voter in every state has an equal opportunity to vote for their choice from the full slate of candidates we will find ourselves in this situation again and again.
As for McCain … I will begrudgingly vote for him because of all of the other areas where we absolutely cannot allow Obama-Hillary to get a chance to put forward their plans to lose the war, force socialized health care on us, and raise taxes in every facet of life … I will vote for Republicans for Congress that I hope can represent us better … and I will do all I can to fight any amnesty providing proposals just as we have done in the past …
McCain was not and still is not my personal choice … but he is what is there and I cannot vote for the Dems … which is exactly what those who are saying they will not vote for McCain or will leave that choice blank are doing … a non-vote for McCain is a vote for the Dems … if you go to the polls and you don’t vote for McCain you have just voted for the Dems … period …
Want to get an idea what to expect from the Dems … Take a look at your tax bill during the Clinton years and compare it to the post-Bush Tax Cut tax bill … They are going to take all of the difference back plus reinstitute higher capital gains, death tax, marriage penalties and then raise all the rates even higher to pay for all those new give-away health and social programs for the leeches that are too lazy to work …
McCain has offended so many of us with amnesty, and the unfunded border fence already, and what numbers he does have will sink like a rock after speaking to the La Raza meeting in July.
But what of the nominations to the Supremes in the next four years?
That is what has me expecting to hold my nose as I vote in November.
Even if Mc895 gets every LaRaza vote, they are but a mild breeze in blue states, home of LaRaza. He’s wasting his time and money and alienating the majority of the Republican base. Other than conservative Republicans find amnesty to be criminal. And let us not forget global warming children bed time stories are part of his energy platform. Does this sound like Al Gore. Does to me.
Something I’ve noticed is that most folks who aren’t going to vote for McCain (I am one of them) simply state that and their reasons. Most of us understand why some are going to vote for him. We just have made our own decisions not to for what we know to be very good reasons.
However, those who are going to vote for him keep trying to SCARE, BADGER and BULLY the rest of us into following lockstep with them. Why is that?
Desert Lover - You’re wrong. I’m not voting for a Dem by not voting for McCain. I’ll be voting FOR whomever I write in.
PS - I moved to Kalifornia from Arizona, so if that’s the desert you’re in, say hi to a saguaro for me!
undreseige1234re:post #21
Even if McCain is arranging for that kind of nonsense in the Persian Gulf wouldn’t get me to change my mind. I have decided once and for all he will not get my vote.
We will just have to fight the dems the same way they have fought us:
Remember, shamnesty was suppoed to PASS last Summer with a Democrat MAJORITY and it did NOT.
I still remember the shocked look on these illegal alien activists as they were being interviewed on O’Reilly.
Joy,
The people who are still belittling those of us who will not vote McCain do so because we are dealing with people who believe as we do on Illegal immigration, War on Terror etc., but theydo not have any confidence that the things we dislike together can be fought any other way than by picking McCain. They are not stupid, but misguided.
I believe with time the reality of this ughly situation will dawn on them (the vote-for-McCain-anyway people), and they will change their minds.
It is better to fight one entrenched enemy (democrats) than two(democrats and McCain) when fighting for border security.
” the killing of Americans by illegals has got to stop. Bankrupting our country for criminals has got to stop. Keeping working Americans paycheck down has to stop. I therefore am going to do all in my power to build the fence and secure our borders.” He would pick up the 25% that McCain is flipping”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You think b.o. is going to say that?!
/simply delusional …
I don’t believe McCain sees brown nosing with La Raza as anything but an avenue to the Whitehouse, he has already made his bed and plans to sleep in it.
Hernandez and Grahamnesty as his closest advisers.

no, yer still not gettign it.
we see a very clear & stark choice before us — JSM or hillbama. we take the former due to it’s IMMENSE superiority to the latter — and you PERSIST in taking the latter either explicitly or implicitly — and that is HARMFUL, which is why we will continue to take you to task for it …
Ahhhhhh, B’s here… and now the cussing, ranting and insults will begin.
3,2,1…
Haha… I didn’t hit enter quickly enough. lol
actualy, it looks like the JSM-haters already took care of that …
Difference is JSM haters focus it on JSM.
JSM lovers focus it at the JSM haters.
so that makes one acceptable and the other not?!
I’m not surprised you don’t understand the difference… sheeesh.
So I guess I have to explain it. We don’t like JSM so we focus our ire at him.
You like JSM so you focus your ire at US. See how it’s different? Nah, prolly not.
see, you don’t get it either — your actions based upon your JSM hatred are HARMFUL, and that’s why I say what I say in an attempt to correct what I see as a very destructive situation …
When I receive either the Juan McCain e-mails or letters, I reply “we are conservatives, and until Juan McCain starts behaving like a conservative, you might receive support from our household”, but we keep getting their daily missives through both snail-mail & e-mail. I don’t think they’re listening.

You might want to simply “unsubscribe” instead of acting all self-righteous …
Well Buckaroo,
We already went over this issue a couple of nights ago, and I frankly anihilated your arguments…they didn’t stand, did they?
All you could do was utter mockingly “wow, you must have second sight”…
I did not take the later -hillbama- at all-they are repulsive…that would be as foolish as saying those on this blog who are going to vote McCain LOVE his policies
If you want to dis me, go right ahead, Buckaroo.
I’ll be back…
You better be ready this time with an irrefutable argument
Oh by the way…make my day…
What is truly harmful is McStain spitting on his base whenever he feels the need to do so, and his penchant to play footsy with the drive-by media and his “friends” across the isle.
He’s too clueless to realize the surrendercrats will stick a knife in his back and twist it on any issue they can to keep him from the White House, or if he gets to the White House.
Support him if you want, it’s still a somewhat free country, just don’t get pi$$y if others choose not to support him.
love2 - Buckaroo’s irrefutable argument:
long walk - short pier…
Add cussword of choice here.
” I frankly anihilated your arguments”
um, no, you made wild suppositions based upon events you “KNEW” would take place during JSM’s term — hence the derisive 2nd sight comment …
you agree that hillbama would be harmful — yet you persist with the foolish thinking that you’d rather have that than JSM — sad really …
# 54
news flash — you are not the arbiter of what I post …
Joy,
Easy…I have people in my family who are politically opposed to what you and I believe…I still work with them.
When they say “no more”, I just back off… and come back another day.
I never said I was….could you offer any reason why one would vote for him?
Comprehensive immigration reform? Uh, no, not if it means amnesty to more than 12 million lawbreakers.
Judicial appointments? Again, no, not if it means he reaches across to Ted Kennedy for advice on who to nominate so as to avoid a fight.
His reaching across the isle for “climate change”? Again, no, not when the cultists pushing it refuse to use sound science and actually debate the issue.
Well Buckaroo,
I went through other arguments that did not project what would happen, such as his current record …particularly his record with Supreme court nominees..first he disses Alito, and then on networks he says Alito is exactly who he would now nominate-which is a total flip flop.
Given neither you or I know the future exactly.
Is this still someone you want me to trust with my vote?
Moreover who is his judge advisor none other than Warren Rudman , the guy who gave us Judge Souter during Bush I.
The first Bush Administration was frankly an overall waste of time for conservatives.
Republicanvet - Yeah, I’m not at all convinced McCain will make good choices for the SCOTUS. McCain won’t appoint conservative, constitutionalists because he knows they’d strike down his precious McCain-Feingold.
REALLY! I didn’t see a single bit of DOCUMENTATION to back up the OPINION that McCain was courting Conservatives, recently. Certainly nothing I have seen in the NEWS…
Does this guy figure that “DAYS THAT McCAIN KEPT HIS FAT MOUTH SHUT” counts as DAYS he was “COURTING CONSERVATIVES”???
What I don’t understand about you Buckaroo is how you believe voting McCain will not weaken our position as conservatives….this baffles me.
That’s what I was thinking! I was trying to figure out what the guy thought was courting conservatives… lol
“not if it means he reaches across to Ted Kennedy for advice”
when in the hell has he said he would do such a thing?!
/and, btw, i notice you didn’t mention anything about foreign policy, healthcare, abortion, the 2nd amend., and taxes, ’cause you KNOW how solid he’ll be in those areas and how frakking awful hillbama would be …
How so?
Frankly, I haven’t seen anyone make a case that it is SMART to vote for Punk McNAsty.
You got one? Trot it out here! Give us all a look at it!
^5 #40 - agree, sick of being told not voting McCain is a vote against Republicans.. imho voting FOR McCain is a vote against Republicans.
# 63 l2r
um, mostly because it would assist us in our primary goals of winning the war and maintaining a market economy …
# 66 OR
well, here’s my latest version of the faq:
* take a hard line against wasteful federal spending
* win in Iraq, & serve notice to Iran, Syria, NK, and whoever else is stupid enough to threaten us
* keep those who make up our military in top shape to be able to accomplish the above
* work towards protection for the unborn
* reinforce that yes, the 2nd amend. really is an individual right
* put judges on the federal bench at all levels that believe in the above, and will simply INTERPRET the laws passed by congress
THANK YOU!
And MEGA SALUTE through Jerusalem GDOP and Lakeland, to you, as well.
When he decided to ignore many other Senators and come up with his little Gang of 14. Actions speak louder than words, particularly from him.
There is nothing to judge him on in this regard other than his words of continuing to whack jihadis. Should he be lauded for such a stand? Yes. Should I ignore everything else? No.
Does he have a position on this other than reaching across to his friends?
He has tried in the past to change the Republican party platform on abortion…and I just read an article today wondering if he will try do so again.
I think this is pretty much a wash. Many laws are changing now (CC), not due to his actions. Besides, what will it matter if he appoints “moderates” to the bench?
I wish I could say I could trust him on this. His actions throughout his Senate career show him to be rather fickle, and unworthy of trust.
RE post 65
Buckaroo,
Don’t you watch TV or read newspaers?
Half of John McCain’s career has been to literally reach out to Ted Kennedy and other liberals, and frustrate conservatives.
Buckaroo,
Is the Earth flat or globe-shaped?
“healthcare,
Does he have a position on this”
um, yeah — he just gave a speech approx. a week ago stressing patient control of choices, the role of private insurers, market forces and not government fiat — y’know, a conservative approach to the issue.
Punk McNasty? The man is an American hero.
# 72 l2r
yes i watch tv, yes i read newspapers. what that has to do with your [weak] supposition about just how much you hatehatehatehate JSM is meaningless …
and i’m surprised that you are still having trouble moving away from the whole earth is flat thing. i can assure you it is an oblate spheroid …
This all makes for a nice campaign soundbite, but if ignores frivolous malpractice suits and the burden on facilities from his “friends” south of the border, things will only get worse.
# 71 Rv
yeah, all the gang of 14 did was get 2 solid justices on the bench …
/eyeroll
# 76 Rv
I don’t have the speech in front of me, he certainly may have touched on tort reform — surely you aren’t positing that he even approaches the “trial lawyers uber alles” mentality of hillbama?
…but unconstitutionally prevented many other good jurists from being seated.
I don’t recall anything in the Constitution about a Gang of any number, or whether a few Senators can usurp the advice and consent of the rest of the Senate.
So he might get tort reform passed (doubtful), but it wouldn’t matter since the hospital went bankrupt and shut down because they were over run with his “friends”.
# 80 Rv
again, speech not in front of me, dunno what if anything was said re: parasitic use of public services …
Reasons he will not help win the war:
1) How will we win the war if we’re invaded and taken over from within? How many more earmarks for La Raza?
2) He wants to close guantanamo and wants to try terrorists in the regular court system.
3) He wants to rob interrogators of proven techniques to get information. He calls waterboarding ‘torture.’ Demi Moore underwent it for her movie. So have several others just to see if it really was torture. All three I’m aware of said it wasn’t.
Economy - How do we maintain our market economy with amnesty costing us a zillion dollars and that opening the door for all out invasion? Not to mention he admits himself HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT ECONOMIC MATTERS.
And health care costs soaring due to the illegal situation which he wants to make worse.
Amnesty again - They vote Democrat!
Amnesty - Remember, this time he’d be El Presidente and not just some 2-bit loser of a Senator that noone likes but the Dems. He’s determined to keep trying.
I haven’t heard one argument yet that is a good one for McCain.
Gang of 14 got two SCOTUS seated and left all the rest hanging!! Had they not interfered we could have utilized teh Nuclear option and put the Dems in their place! And we’d have full courts now instead of woefully understaffed ones getting backlogged cuz Dems STILL WON’T seat the judges!! Why? Cuz McCain set it up that way through his interferance.
From the man who would prosecute any bombing of Iran as “TORTURE”? and MURDER OF INNOCENTS?
The only October Surprise that will help Punk McNasty is his own OBITUARY notice.
So the North Vietcong are voting in this election, too?
hhhmmmm… well, they’d naturally vote the same as Mexican citizens of La Raza and Reconquistas.
Buckaroo,
We will have to continue this debate later. I’m going to bed. Happy mother’s Day.
You should be ashamed of yourself. How utterly pathetic.
# 82
um, the “end of days” earmark for la raza was STRIPPED out of the bill — a fact that seems to escape many here …
basically that entire no. 1 you list is completely specious — i was speaking about how he will conduct foreign military operations as CINC and you don’t address that at all — ’cause you can’t …
Yeah, seems when they decide to VOTE like a Democrat votes, they decide to TALK like a Democrat TALKS.
I guess it is because they BOTH know they cannot make a defense in REASON for the VOTE that is within them.
NO!
Daniel wasn’t voting for the Lions to be fed when he continued praying.
His three friends were not voting for the Fiery Furnace when they refused to bow down to the Idol made of Gold.
The Christians were not voting to be fed to the Lions when they refused to recant their faith in Jesus.
The Sons of Liberty were NOT voting for a REVOLUTION when they refused to pay the Stamp Act Tax and held the Boston Tea Party.
All of them were simply doing what was right and taking the consequences that came with the territory.
NOTHING can make it RIGHT to vote for McCain.
I can handle the consequences of doing the right thing for the right reasons.
# 88
for the umpteenth time, we are trying to show you that you are de facto voting for hillbama and that, frankly, is foolishness of the highest order …
Buckaroo, don’t even bother. When they start wishing for the man’s obituary, they’re beyond help.
# 89
wow — you can almost feel the self-destructive piousness …
# 91 M
well, i appreciate the thought, but short of the hostess throwing me outta the room, i shall keep on posting and trying to get the message across …
On May 12th, 2008 at 2:01 am, Mookie said:
I am not ashamed of NOT VOTING for McCain, or of holding the opinion of him that I do, for I know for SURE what the Founding Fathers of America would think of the AUTHOR of McCAIN FEINGOLD THOMPSON and of McCAIN KENNEDY SHAMNESTY.
And I can tell you what the family of my neighbor lady thinks of him, too, the neighbor lady who was murdered by a young illegal alien after she gave him a plate of scrambled egg breakfast tacos because his coyote smuggler never fet the wets he smuggles very well.
I live about an hour and a half from the Mexico border, and about an hour and a half from RECONQUISTA territory in Texas - I live in the area that was crossed by Santa Anna on his way to the Alamo where men like Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie gave their lives for people like me.
I guarantee you that a John McCain would NOT be found standing shoulder to shoulder with these men in a stand-up battle.
# 94
dude, you shouldn’t have doubled down on the piousness, you look like an even bigger ass …
/TX huh? well, not exactly a hillbama stronghold i suppose …
#90 and #91, you are voting for TRASH, and telling yourself any garbage you have to to justify yourself for it.
The Sons of Liberty knew when they stood up like MEN on their two hind legs that the Revolution would be coming, and they stood straight and squared their shoulders back and took it on the chin.
The last thing they ever let enter their minds was going and slathering themselves all over the AUTHOR of THe Stamp Act.
#91 - the least you can do is READ HONESTLY WHAT IS WRITTEN.
I didn’t “WISH FOR HIS OBITUARY”.
It’s a low-life smarmy thing to twist what I said into THAT.
What you should be damned ashamed of is talking about the man’s obituary. That’s pathetic. You want to disagree with his policies or don’t want to vote for him? Whatever. But wishing him dead? Shame on you.
Let’s not try and spin it, now that you’ve been called out on it. You’ve made your opinion about McCain quite clear. Anyone who would call a P.O.W. and an American hero “Punk McNasty” would have no problem wishing him dead.
