Anti-illegal immigration mayors win in Texas
Voters who are sick and tired of open-borders anarchy have spoken in Texas. Via WBAP:
The two beacons of illegal immigrant exclusion laws won the mayor’s office yesterday in their respective cities. Farmer’s Branch voters elected Tim O’Hare over Gene Bledsoe by a wide margin, with Irving voters deciding to re-elect Herbert Gears to lead their city with 54% of the ballots.
Both O’Hare and Gears have spearheaded the fight to exclude illegal immigrants in their cities attracting the ire of Washington D.C., the focus of the national news media and the desperation of other American mayors who want to follow in their footsteps looking for a solution to the national issue of undocumented workers.
One neighborhood, one city, one state at time, Americans are taking their destiny into their own hands.

No matter what the MSM and all the Presidential candidates say…American’s are sick of this crap and they will fix it…as you say one city, county, state at a time…very good news Michelle.
Again, my hope still rests with the state and local governments. I have given up hope on the federal system but moments like this give me hope that we still have a chance and all is not quite lost just yet.
Let’s hope what O’Hare and Gears have is contagious and catches on with other politicians on the local, state and federal levels.
Carrollton elected a new mayor over the weekend who vows that ridding the city of illegal aliens is his top priority.
Woo-HOOO!
V.I.C.T.O.R.Y.
Jaded and WarTip…yall have a point but there efforts will do no good if Juan/Obama X makes all the illegals, legals.
Perhaps I should e-mail this article the mayors in the valley here in the greater Phoenix metroplex.
the first mayor that offers illegals one way bus tickets to San Fransisco gets my vote.
good for them…however, you know in the hollow halls of the DNC this is only proving their narrative that the south’s racist.
Good news indeed. Thanks Michelle for keeping us up-to-date. Hopefully the idiots in Washington and southern California and San Francisco will get the message….but I’m not holding my breath.
Prime example of Americans who still believe in holding the line. Warms my heart.
Oklahoma has passed some of the strongest anti-illegal immigration laws in the nation – makes me proud to be an Oklahoman. Now our illegals are Kansas’ and Arkansas’ illegals!
Whoever says this isn’t an important issue (one of THE most important issues) to us, isn’t paying very close attention.
Awesome to see!
ACLU begins whining in 3…..2…..1…..
I say demagnetize the whole thing. Would love to see this everywhere!
“All politics are local”. Things will turn around when Americans get fed up and act on a local level. Grass roots and up, folks. Works every time.
Absolutely correct Michelle. We can take our nation back! One street, town, city, and state at a time.
bloghooligan #9 – I gave up worring about what DNC, liberals, an PC police thought years ago. Doing what’s right isn’t always popular.
Hopefully we can stave that off if and when it happens to come along again. If not though, there are going to be thirty or forty more million coming across the border to replace them and get their piece of the American Pie that real American’s
don’t wantcan’t get! We still need these people in office. Preferably now before it is too late.hmmm… I live in a town where every season (summer, and winter) there is a deluge of texan tourists. They are generally mocked, disparaged and treated like crap because for the most part they act like, well, a-hole tourists. They can’t drive (and think they can), they’re rude and self-righteous and far too proud of being texan.
But it’s things like this that make me secretly root for texas… it seems to be the only semi-sane state in the country.
Thank God for state’s rights. If the Feds won’t take care of it, we’ll take care of it ourselves. Won’t be the first time Washington has let us down.
without a doubt my friend.
Its definately a winning position. I wish we could come up with a better sounding name than “anti-illegal immigration” though. Whenever you let the media characterize your side as “anti” anything it always makes it sound like you are the bad guys. Just look at the media’s choice of words to describe the abortion debate. Their side is “pro”(choice) ours is “Anti”(abortion). Americans are generally optimistic and whenever you give someone a pro or anti choice they tend to subconsciously favor toe “pro” choice.
ATTN: Juan McCain ! Are you listening ? This is the PEOPLE talking. When it comes to this border subject, he is off in lefty land somewhere. If he wasn’t born with shoulders he could run his head another 3 feet up his a$$ !!
My two favorite cities here in the DFW metroplex: Farmers Branch and Irving.
I told a buddy of mine about the efforts made this year in Irving, and he asked if he could have his property taxes go to Irving even though he doesn’t live there. (we pay property taxes in lieu of State income taxes down here)
I read an article this weekend where anti illegal
immigration was called “misplaced nativism.” Personally, I like the term nativism, or, as my 80 year
old neighbor termed it when we were talking,
lawful or righteous nativism.
Great now I have something to look for on Univision propaganda machine. Of course they will spit and twist this story around as racist and anti-immigrant mayor.
Arizona, now Texas, Can someone in California help get the ball rolling here! Jon and Ken Radio show please help.

As well as I am, Miss Cheryl.
There are parts of Oklahoma City where one would almost think one was in Mexico City, instead.
I have nothing whatsoever against immigrants. I’m married to one. But there is a right way to do it.
The Feds won’t do it so it falls on the States to protect it’s citizens from this illegal invasion that is strapping education, health care, and our prison systems.
I hope this spreads like a wild fire through out Americas states!
Good for the people that voted to make a change!
Amen brother. People try and spin that since we are anti-illegal immigration that we are against all immigration. Total bullcrap, I am all for people who want to come here and work legally by going through the proper channels and not breaking the law.
More cities would go this route if we could enforce the voter id laws.
BTW, Dallas and Houston are still sanctuaries, San Antonio is completely gone.
Sovereign Nation
or Sanctuary Nation:It’s yourThe only choice. How about “law and order”?
I prefer to think of our side as “pro-life” and theirs as “anti-child”.
That’s a given and I for one am done justifying my position on this. If someone can’t figure out the difference between illegal and legal…well, there’s not alot of hope for them and terminology won’t help.
Illegal immigrant advocates claim that illegals are a net gain financially for communities. When cities, counties and states start to see the enormous financial drain that illegals cause, the trickle of communities opposing illegal immigrants will become a tidal wave.
It is time to start aggressively going after businesses at the local level who
hire illegals. They have an unfair competitive advantage and are making their ill-gotten gains at the expense of their communities. Start giving scrutiny to businesses in your community, shine the spotlight on their activities and make them accountable for their actions.
I try to be fair to both sides.
Pro-life & Pro-death
So why not Pro-Law and Pro-Lawlessness?
President McCain would refer to this mayor as a “bigot,” and likely have him jailed.
President Obama would refer to this mayor as a “bitter clinger to guns and religion,” and likely have him sent to “reprogramming camp” in S. Chicago.
Either way, no worries. All will be well come this November.
ugh…
Great news! We all need to take back this country, town by town and city by city.
Here is an easy way for the states to crack down. Audit employers over whether they are understating their payrolls in filing their unemployment insurance returns, and be strict about off-the-books workers.
I’m afraid Calif will be last on that list.
Give him some time, he’ll get it up there. Shoulders or not.
I would love to be a fly on the wall during a Bush/McCain/Kennedy strategy meeting, trying to figure out how they can grant a giant amnesty/rewards program before all the illegal aliens have left our country because the states and cities are “doing the job the American President and Congress won’t do.”
See some of the progress here.
Note that the Mississippi state legislature voted a combined 165 to 8 to pass their strict enforcement law. Take that, open borders lobbyists!
Slowly and surely, a revolt is beginning to blossom. We’ve got to keep the ball rolling so that D.C. will be forced into doing something. Politicians hear when voices are raised at the ballot box. Bringing to mind, Thomas Jefferson, a little revolt now and again, is good for the liberty tree.
Did anybody notice McInsane’s interview with O’Reilly on immigration? When pushed on the immigration issue he said “I will conced that the American People want the border secured”. Translation, I want open borders but the people are p*ssed.
I like the term “Pro-law & order immigration”.
Just think – if California really wants to solve it’s budget crisis, all they have to do is stop being a sanctuary state. Presto – 20 billion problem solved. How easy was that? Ahnuld? Ahnuld? Are you listening?
This is rather off-topic but did anyone else read the NewsMax report about Jeremiah Wright looking to get even with Obama for disowning him now?
Yes, Good news.
I agree with J S Ragman # 29, it’s about “law & order”. Has a nice ring to it, so why not say it often.
O’Reilly really didn’t push him on immigration. That seemed like an awfully tame interview. And, if I remember correctly, McCain was allowed to spin quickly off the border to comprehensive immigration talk.
Last night I had a dream where my two state senators, John F. Kerry and Ted M. Keneedy, held a press conference where they stated that Massachusetts would no longer be a magnet state for illegal aliens, and that all social services would only be provided upon proof of citizenship. I then woke up and realized, damn, I haven’t wet the bed since I was seven. Honey! Wake up! Call Mattress Discounters stat!
How about Pro Sovereignty?
Rekd, There is still hope here in California. It is just going to take someone with some backbone to stand up to the reconquista crowd. There are plenty of people who want Law and Order here. I just wish it could start now and not after we have to speak spanish. LOL
But you can’t watch Univision or other Spanish language programming at the Farmers Branch Recreation Center. Seems all Spanish cable programing has been blocked. Odd for a city that is over 40% hispanic.
I agree Barry F. #45. Bill should have spent more time on the issue.
I’m not sure the Arizona law is working all that well. I see landscaping trucks pull up to the home depot a 1/2 mile from my home and hand out colored t-shirts with company logo on them. Half a dozen guys then put on the shirts and pile in the trucks.
An easy way to prevent this is to have the Department of Revenue follow the truck to the worksite and then demand of the employer his employee records, income statements etc… Toss a few of these guys in jail for tax evasion and I think we might see a flood of illegals leaving, until then, not so much.

It’s too bad… the real “law & order” candidate should of been Fred Thompson.
Illegal Invaders killing the people Americans won’t kill
Look how far down it it takes the paper to mention that this punk was Illegal. One further, there’s no mention on what they plan to do when his prison term of 5 years is up.
I agree. I think the entire exchange on illegal immigration lasted about 15 seconds, or so it seemed. I think Bill O let him off the hook. McFraud looked uncomfortable and OReilly should have nailed him on the issue.
It’s great that local governments are taking these steps and being proactive. That said, it will all be in vain if the Feds declare the foreign invaders citizens by giving them amnesty. We need to elect Congressmen who will stand up for U.S. citizens and not bow to special interest groups with deep pockets.
O’Reilly has been useless for a while now. Remember Hannity on the radio about a month ago doing the ol’ softshoe with McCain, also.
Too many of these guys are more worried about their celebrity and booksales now than about doing their jobs.
I saw the O’Reilly thing too and in his defense reporters are usually given the things they can ask and how far they can go in these kind of interviews.
I guarantee that Bill was hand tied as to what he could ask about immigration.
We know McShamnesty is lying and doesn’t want to be hard pressed!
Congrats to the citizens and new Mayors of Farmer’s Branch and Irving.
O’Hare for prez!
In O’Reilly’s and Hannity’s situation, they should be well enough off that they could do a hard-hitting interview without worrying about repercussions.
Between their time on Fox, their radio shows and their book sales, they should be more than set for life. *sigh*
When will we get someone that will take all candidates to task? I want interviews where every candidate has to answer tough questions. I used to think that would happen on Fox. But, they too are turning soft in their coverage of politics.
It did my heart so much good to see George and Charlie ask tougher questions in the last Democrat debate.
So, why would an real journalist want to interview them? If your hands are tied, why bother wasting your time getting only the answers you know they want to give?
#61 Bill O’Reilly isn’t a journalist he’s a commentator
how about pro-American. Can’t beat that.
The local level is where Americans can still have some influence. The federal level elction rules are full of incumbent protections. The result is voters feel they don’t have a say on federal elections. We end up with massive voter apathy. Sad but true. There is hope through local elections. A revolution from the bottom up.
Bobby Jindal ‘12
Enough said.
Terri’ the local level is where you have a lot of influence (if enough of you get involved) and the best chance of making a difference. And it trickles up. Stay informed, show up to PTA’s and town council meetings, use the phones and e-mails, etc.
Proof that the American people still control what is going on. We still have the power, I believe most American’s don’t understand how their local and state governments work. It was always supposed to be about the State, not the Fed.
And right next door to Farmer’s Branch. Go Dallas!
O’Reilly used to be my favorite commentator for he didn’t allow anyone to spin on a question, but since the democrats took over Congress, he’s allowing more spin and I don’t watch him as much as I use to. I watched only a portion of his what’s her name and McCain’s interveiw, but couldn’t watch it all because he was too soft. I definitley won’t watch Obummer, if he comes on. I can’t stand the Marxsist, and won’t watch one second of him on my television.
I just wish we had a better Republican to vote for, because I can’t vote democrat, no matter what, but I am voting.
Congratulations to Mr. O’Hare and Mr. Gears!
Keep up the good fight!
I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like… Victory.
Hard to believe, but here in Orygun there is a petition started to have placed on the ballot this Nov. one has to show American proof of citizenship and/or legal documentation in order to acquire a driver’s license. It’s not a lot but its a start, sad to say Orygun is one of 8 states that allow illegals to acquire a driver’s license.
The law is appropriately named “Respect the Law Act” It’s ways blue here even under grey skies…can’t be but a handleful of conservatives here.
It’s like there’s The Looking Glass between America and the political class. We want the illegal invaders out and nice immigrants who follow the rules in. We want and end to the Global Warming/Climate Change scam. Etc., etc., etc. The three stooges running for POTUS are running bassackwards to the people. What is it??
Definately some welcome good news. Just wish it keeps coming. I did just read a couple articles at Drudge Report that were uplifting. The first, about a major raid in Iowa. The second, about voter ID in Arizona. The article about AZ. voter ID stated that after implementing such a radical idea, they actually had to throw out 38,000 registrations. That’s the next step we need to start pushing. Its pretty obvious who those 38,000 (as well as all the illegals in other staes) are planning to vote for, just look who is fighting against voter ID.
Regarding O’Reilly, he clearly stated last year he is FOR Comprehensive Immigration Reform. No reason to expect him to press anyone on the illegal alien situation.
Good Point Freddy.#76. Bill is above all and would not have to deal with gang bangers destroying his property.
Hooray for Texas! lets hope all the states that want to follow our lead get
on the bandwagon, one city, one state at
a time. Were taking back our country, thats the one with the red, white & blue flag-go America…
I live in the Metroplex not far from the cities that have taken decisive action against illegals and it makes me proud to be a Texan. I hope that more cities in N. Texas make the same decision as it is killing our school systems and our hospitals. Thank you Farmers Branch and Irving!
The Illegal Mexigrant issue is simple and can be summed up as such:
Liberals/Democrats want them here. They want their votes. They want them unionized in the “fields” (no pun intended) in which they work. They want them beholding to Lib/Democrats.
Libs/Democrats don’t believe in the “RULE OF LAW”. PERIOD.
Republicans want to “massage” the issue. Some are afraid to piss off constituencies in their districts. Some want the cheap labor for certain business interests, and some are just weak RINO’s. McCain wants to appease.
OT…Salukidog, I was at the Ft Worth dog show in March and my papillon and I
got to hang out with two beautiful Salukis. One was a male named Khalil and
a 9 month old female named Bibi. I have always wanted one but thought I did
not have enough room. Now I find out I do when I have two girls and husband
says no more ( and I agree).
My next door neighbor just informed me he has joined They Do Not Speak For
Me. I’m proud of him!
I live in Arkansas…thanks a lot! Just kidding, but you’re right….and Governor Beebe is greeting them with open arms. Has nothing to do with Tyson’s owning the state I’m sure.
Hang tough in Oklahoma, maybe I’ll move there someday.
This is the only way we can get this done. One city, one county and one state at a time. The powers in DC are bought and paid for by special interests; and these special interests/owned party leaders made sure we did not have a choice of POTUS that would be a leader when it comes to keeping our sovereignity. Yes, we can thank the liberals crossing over and voting in McCain as well as the liberal media for slamming any true conservative with a strong stand against illegal immigration.
Eventually, we will close these borders down state by state! Of course, I keep seeing California as wide open. But, once they are over invaded and bankrupt maybe the cities here will start to follow suit. I am talking true Hope and Change!!
While I congratulate the citizens of these locales on sane thinking at their local level, I remain pessimistic. Until the laws against employing illegals grow some real teeth I think we’re spinning our wheels.
MAYBE just MAYBE, the American people have had enough of this invasion! It is about time! It has only taken 20 years of invasion to come to this point. I might be wrong but I would be willing to bet we have spent FAR MORE on illegals than we have in Iraq!!!
