Things have changed over the years. That was a bad joke, and in time of war, very poor taste. He should have apologized, but you will never see it. If a conservative said that about a liberal President, it would be “news” for a week or more, with calls for prosecution. Times have changed because politicans don’t have any class anymore. Nor, do they support a country if it conflicts with their own ambitions. Our society used to have “class”. It doesn’t much anymore. Too much of “do what you feel, say what you feel”. If it doesn’t work, blame someone. Anyone but a politician would be in jail for such a statement.
