Prosecutors drop charges because there isn’t enough evidence to get a conviction, not because of embarassment. The fact that they were dropped without prejudice supports that this is the case.

You are correct about us not being like them, and then in another thread compare us as being rather alike. Another hollow argument. Torture is the least of their values. Death and abject submission by their enemies, however, is their stock and trade.

Don’t get me wrong…I don’t believe we should be torturing people all willy-nilly, but I can’t say its a negative if it gleens important information about upcoming attacks, or saves the lives of others.

And the oracle story…if your analogy was correct, conservatives would be hiding behind our wooden walls still.

I dont see conservatives dressed in pink in Berkley. I dont see conservatives running from Iraq. I don’t see conservatives advocating we talk to everyone and be more -understanding- of other countries. Just some food for thought.
