The 57 states thing, which I heard when he said it, was nothing more than a simple flub. Do you truly believe that he doesn’t know the number of states?

All that crap about Islam and the Pledge and the hand over the heart…c’mon. Is that the best we can do? Is that what separates him from McCain? Phony stories about his upbringing?

I hear you, Doug, but many of us just want to apply a little equilbrium to the playing field.

Try to imagine the media uproar if Bush had said that. Remember the recent coverage when McCain made a flub about Sunnis and Shiites? Remember the difference in coverage between the military services of Kerry and Bush? I sure do.

Every tiny mistake by a Republican is magnified beyond all proportion, while those of Democrats are stuck next to the obits if they are covered at all.

If you don’t listen to talk radio, you wouldn’t even know about half the flubs the Dems make, but the media spares no expense to pound away at a simple flub by the President.

Sometimes it is “just about sex,” but more often than not, it is just about Republicans.
