McCain-Huckabee: The GOP immigration drag queen ticket

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 12, 2008 09:02 PM

Huckabee for VP? That’s the buzz.

It’s the GOP immigration drag queen ticket!

La Raza/The Race gives it two thumbs up.

Read and weep:

Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas and defeated contender for the GOP presidential nomination, is currently at the top of John McCain’s short list for a running mate. At least that’s the word from a top McCain fundraiser and longtime Republican moneyman who has spoken to McCain’s inner circle.

All they need is sanctuary-friendly Rudy Giuliani as DHS Secretary, and the open-borders dream nightmare team will be complete.

Can someone please fast-forward to 2012? Please.

The problem is in the Primary Process. Too many differing rules from State to State. Some are winner take all, some are split and some are open to Independents, etc. The conservatives were split in too many directions.

I’m not sure how to fix it though. It seems there should be a one day Primary, with the top three then in another run-off and then the top two. But that would be cost big dollars.

The idea being that once a person’s pick is filtered out, they should then be able to send their vote to someone else. Maybe the voting could be pick the top three choices in order of preference and if your top choice doesn’t cut it, they throw your vote to your next choice, and your next. Typing as I’m trying to think this out.

Well then, libocrat, one method of taking back or reshaping the conservative model is to withhold donations, or give only to Senate and House Repub. candidates, this cycle.

By merely going along with Juan Pablo in his quest to appeal to the middle, the Independents, and Hispanic votes, we are not discouraging McCain’s and Hernandez’ actions.
As Michelle said above, “can someone fast forward to 2012, please?”, when some resurrection of a conservative party can be had– hopefully, there will still be a recognizable US of A that year.

In fact, given the intelligence and wisdom on the voter, (either party), who think the democrats are doing just fine thank you, this may work out well for McCain.

Either way, as far as the election this year, it’s essentially over. Something ghastly, either Obama-? or McCain-?, is slouching towards the Capitol and all we can do now is seek shelter and await its birth.

Since we’re talking about change. I think the best way to avoid this again, is to change the selection process. The GOP needs to get together, and craft a new primary process. Since it is the GOP nomination, I think the GOP members should select the nominee. Kind of like the Dem’s Superdelegates. Let all elected members(Gov.s, Senators, Rep.’s, mayors, etc.) get together, and pick a nominee. Maybe even make it so each one gets so many votes they can give out to their selected, loyal constituents. This would also save millions for the General. Since “change” is the hot word right now, the GOP can take the lead on this one. They are going to have to do something, because after Rush’s Operation Chaos(which was a great idea) the Dem’s are definately going to get revenge next time around. As for the Demolib party, it’s slid left, lefter and leftist, since LBJ. The Democrat Party and it’s slide to socialism is very easy to explain. Very easy. Democrats have created a constituency of various groups that are COMPLETELY dependent on MOMMY GOVERNMENT and tax money for their very existance. The tipping point is getting very very close, where those on some sort of Gubmint DOLE, or those who rely on tax money for their very existance equals or surpasses the normal citizen who carries his or her own weight. If John McCain picks anyone but a strong conservative for his V.P., I know that I can kick back and relax on election day, because I WILL NOT BE VOTING. After the whole mess is over, I would strongly suggest that conservatives unite and leave the republican party en mass. We cannot continue to share a party with people who share views that are polar opposites of our own. If you are just an “economic conservative” you are not a true conservative.

I will be voting conservative for the local, state and federal representatives. I will not vote for McCain, I vowed in the 90’s that if this guy ever ran for POTUS I would not vote for him. He is far more liberal than I can stomach. I may as well as vote for Hill or Obama. I recall his push of McCain/Feingold and decided back then he was a Democrat with an R behind his name. No, my decision on McCain has been through careful observance of his character for almost 20 years. I don’t trust him, period. Besides if a Dem gets in we can be sure that the Repbulicans in office will stand up and resist anything coming down the pike. Not so if a POTUS has an R behind his name.

I will vote for Constitutional Party in the POTUS.

There will come a point when this country is simply no longer the United States of America. For whatever reason, the left wing is in charge and driving the policy of this country. The three candidates for President confirm this fact. I think about the consequences of ANY of the three becoming President and it is frightening.

By the way, I am not a conservative. Think of me as a “Neal Boortz” voter.

I will never leave this country, even if it leaves me. It is worth fighting for. But, please, does anyone have any ideas on how to get our country back? REAL ideas, not pie-in-the-sky stuff.

I’m with you. What are we going to do?

If obummer’s going into the white house, just hurt the democrats, I’d vote for him in a New York Minute, but they won’t be the only ones that will be hurt by that move. The whole country, every man, woman and child will suffer, as will the rest of the free world who are standing by us, as they see our armies deserting them, allowing Iran, the taliban, and Al Qadea to swarm all over Iraq and the middle east and hold the free world hostage, and Jimmy Carter will be right there patting them on the back.
I’ve only got one horse in this race—National Defense. Without it, you ain’t got doodly- squat. That’s my biggest worry about what’s her name and obummer getting elected. We won’t have a National Defense. That’s just my opinion, and I’m sticking to it, and voting for McCain.

Well, the office of the Presidency seems to be well and truly screwed at the moment, so my solution is to focus on Congress. Regardless of a President’s positions, it’s hard for him (or, perish the thought, her) to do anything without Congress’s support. I’m currently doing loads of research on my elections so that I can try to get involved in the campaigns later on, and I’d recommend that everyone else do the same.

I love this country too much to see it torn apart by a few blundering assholes who are convinced that they’re on a mission sent from God, and that they have to accomplish their own petty goals regardless of whether or not it’s right. Not one of the politicians running for the Presidency deserves it, and not one of them is competent enough for it. With the Congress in the hands of sane people, we at least have a chance to stave off disaster long enough to find a better President.

I did not read all of the comments, so I do not know if this has come up: We need to forget about the Republican party and vote for Bob Barr. It will probably be a write in for most states and in case you’re not aware, Bob Barr was a Republican representative from Georgia who is now running as a Libertarian for POTUS.
