Thank you Michelle, what a great story, that young man has more courage than most people I know with both arms and legs. I admire the devotion, love and caring his family has for him and he for them, it’s wonderful.

It’s amazing how some people are able to laugh off “stuff” like this. He is an amazing kid. So many people would wallow in self-pity.

My high school government teacher had his legs blown off in Vietnam; he is a real American hero. He always used to say stuff like, “You’re pulling my leg,” or, “You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?” I’m always impressed by people like those.

Great story! I have seen this boy on TV before skateboarding. He is amazing and a reminder that our daily struggles are insignicant in comparison. We have nothing to complain about. Make life the best you can with what you have. Nick is my hero!

Whenever you think that the world just threw you a “bad curve”, think of Nick. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with quad kids in high school, for 3 years, usually on ventilators, and I never met more kids, at ease with themselves, with a terrific attitude, in one place. If you came to work there, in a bad mood, it was quickly removed, by the kids. Nick has that same personality. He must be quite a joy and inspiration to many.

Thanks for a great way to start the week, reminds me of my dad’s philosophy after his crippling stroke; “handicapped is between your ears”. He farmed, built sheds, sold advertizing, went fishing, basically whatever he wanted to do he did. Miss him terribly after he died in 2001, but still remember this valuable lesson that this kid has also learned. Again, thanks for the memories and great story.
