Every day is a gift. Perceive and enjoy the moment. The past is done. The future undetermined. Now.
That is a great article. Thanks for sharing that with us Michelle.
Wow, thanks Michelle.
Thanks Michelle, I needed that.
Thanks Michelle!
I bet his mom had a happy mothers day!
I also bet his mother was pressured to keep him – yeah right.
Nick for President!
Thanks Michelle,
I needed a Monday morning pick me up …
Great story …
Nick for President!

Great story, and a timely reminder that doctors don’t always know everything. Thanks, Michelle.
John 9
Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind
1As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3″Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.
I’d say God’s Power is being displayed here.
Jeez I’ve got too many construction workers around to read this. Now I have to explain, AGAIN, why my eyes look funny.
Thank You Michelle. Happy Belated Mothers Day.
I am in awe of Nick and his family. What a blessing Nick was born to the parents he was.
Something we all need from time to time. The fact that this lad is defying “ordinary” in both medical and physical terms is astonishing and motivating.
Well done, Nick. I’ll be sure to keep this one in the archives for my adopted daughter who has some crippling issues of her own. I’m sure you’ll inspire her when the time is appropriate.
Truly amazing! I have two healthy arms, but this kid draws better than me. Keep on truckin’, Nick.
Nick is an inspiration. May he continue to grow and prosper in his pursuits.
Thank you for sharing that with us, Michelle.
Great story. It’s amazing what people can do with their own gumption, health, and a sense of humor.
Wish this attitude was more pervasive in our culture.
I love Nick’s joke at the end. He sounds like a very cool kid.
Thanks for a great way to start the week, reminds me of my dad’s philosophy after his crippling stroke; “handicapped is between your ears”. He farmed, built sheds, sold advertizing, went fishing, basically whatever he wanted to do he did. Miss him terribly after he died in 2001, but still remember this valuable lesson that this kid has also learned. Again, thanks for the memories and great story.
The strength of this child should remind us to reflect on ourselves, and eliminate the weaknesses therein.
If he can do it, so can we
Whenever you think that the world just threw you a “bad curve”, think of Nick. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with quad kids in high school, for 3 years, usually on ventilators, and I never met more kids, at ease with themselves, with a terrific attitude, in one place. If you came to work there, in a bad mood, it was quickly removed, by the kids. Nick has that same personality. He must be quite a joy and inspiration to many.
Great kid! Great family! Love the drawing. They say a picture is worth a thousand words… That picture has left me speechless.
Now that’s my kind of humor! Great story, great kid!
Great story! I have seen this boy on TV before skateboarding. He is amazing and a reminder that our daily struggles are insignicant in comparison. We have nothing to complain about. Make life the best you can with what you have. Nick is my hero!
Sounds like a great kid with a great mom. Thanks Michelle.
Forced huh? Blessed with Love, Faith and a sense of ability rather than a victim-mentality? May God bless this entire family for their efforts!
It’s amazing how some people are able to laugh off “stuff” like this. He is an amazing kid. So many people would wallow in self-pity.
My high school government teacher had his legs blown off in Vietnam; he is a real American hero. He always used to say stuff like, “You’re pulling my leg,” or, “You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?” I’m always impressed by people like those.
Great story, Michelle. Thanks for posting.
Excellent. Thanks for sharing it.
Some days we need to be reminded to see the half of the glass that is full.
Thank you Michelle, what a great story, that young man has more courage than most people I know with both arms and legs. I admire the devotion, love and caring his family has for him and he for them, it’s wonderful.
Thanks Michelle - he is such an inspiration. It’s all in the attitude.
