1achange2.jpg I really didn’t think it could get much worse than the GOP’s “Change You Deserve” crapola that I blogged about this afternoon.

Should have gone to bed without checking my e-mail one last time.

Because GOP House leader John Boehner’s latest press release tonight on the Mississippi special election loss just made me lose my late-night snack. (That–and the return of Zubaz pants. Agh.)

After you read this, make your predictions: How long ’til the GOP starts co-opting Obama’s stupefying line, “We are the change that we seek?”

It’s only a matter of time:

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) tonight responded to the special election results in Mississippi’s First Congressional District. Boehner released the following statement:

“The results in MS-01 should serve as a wake-up call to Republican candidates nationwide. As I’ve said before, this is a change election, and if we want Americans to vote for us we have to convince them that we can fix Washington. Our presidential nominee, Senator McCain, is an agent of change; candidates who hope to succeed must show that they’re willing and able to join McCain in a leading movement for reform.

“We need to stop wasteful Washington spending, fight and win the war on terror, and stop the largest tax increase in history. That is truly the change the American people deserve — and that is a message on which we can succeed.”

NOTE: Boehner recently delivered a presentation to the House Republican Conference entitled “Why We Can Win.” In it he argues that the 2008 electoral battle is a battle the GOP can win by showing Americans that Republicans are agents of change. And yesterday, GOP Leaders distributed a memo to House Republicans on “The Change America Deserves,” setting the stage for a “positive agenda of reform that delivers the change the American people are crying out for.”

Boehner serves as honorary chairman of The Freedom Project (www.freedomproject.org), a political action committee (PAC) established in 1995 to provide assistance to Republican candidates for federal office. Its mission is to help Republicans earn back the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Freedom Project is committed to a better America based on freedom and security, empowered citizens and personal responsibility.

Next up: GOP leaders rap about how they’re “the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

How much “change” did these feckless Beltway Republicans spend on the high-priced consultants who have turned them into Obama wannabes?

Time to bring out that classic SNL Change Bank skit again. Who knew I’d have to resurrect it to ridicule the Republicans…

While I’m scouting for Effexor, Allah’s ready to break out the Elmer’s.

Just wait ’til McCain’s July La Raza/The Race speech
