Dirty race-card tricks in Mississippi: The KKK ploy; Update: Neck and neck; Update: Democrat wins dirty; NRCC licks its wounds: “We came up short”
Scroll down for updates…10:04pm Eastern: Results coming in…it’s neck and neck with Democrat Childers maintaining a slim lead…Update 10:25pm Eastern…The Democrat wins dirty…11:28pm Eastern…see my reaction to Boehner’s statement on the special election loss here…
The special congressional election in Mississippi today is an important one. The GOP can’t afford another defeat and morale-deflator. Republicans have poured on the money to retain the longtime, reliably conservative district.
So, what are Dems up to? You won’t be surprised. Several Mississippi readers and bloggers e-mail that the Dems have pulled out the race card to smear GOP candidate Greg Davis as a KKK supporter. This is how it’s going to be.
Alan Lange at Y’all Politics reports:
On Monday afternoon (5/12), the DCCC was pushing the following ad on the streets of the district.
(Image via Right of Mississippi)…This ad certainly begs some questions. First, if the DCCC was so proud of the message, why not put it on TV with the $1,000,000 they dropped in the campaign? Second, why only drop this on the street one day before the election? Would it be so that no press would pick up on it?
Candidly, I don’t know how this election shakes out. It’s a 3 point race that could go either way. However, this is why we do this site . . . to uncover this kind of naked racial bigotry that was unfortunately done, in this case, on Travis Childers’ behalf. So far, we have not received any press releases from Childers’ campaign, the DCCC or the Mississippi Democratic Party disavowing the message. For someone who has been as closely linked to the now disgraced trial lawyer and admitted felon, Joey Langston, as Childers has been, maybe it can be assumed that the “ends justifies the means” mindset runs through their circle of acquaintances.
Turns out the last-minute attack by the Dems was on the wrong mayor for the wrong statue.
Slimeballs.
Conservative Belle and Liberal Smash weigh in.
***
Update: The DCCC, naturally, stands by its slime.
Update 10:04pm Eastern: Y’all Politics is liveblogging the returns. Results here. It’s currently 51/49 Childers, with 366 of 462 precincts reporting.
Update 10:25pm Eastern: The Democrat wins in a race card-tainted race…
Democrats appeared to regain control of north Mississippi’s 1st Congressional District — for now.
Shortly after 9 p.m., with 80 percent of the precincts reporting, The Associated Press declared Prentiss County Chancery Clerk Travis Childers the winner over Southaven Mayor Greg Davis, a Republican, in a runoff.
The runoff was necessary after a special election last month produced no outright winner.
Childers’ apparent victory means he will serve the final months of a term vacated by Roger Wicker. Wicker, a Republican, was appointed to the U.S. Senate after former Sen. Trent Lott resigned in December.
But Childers, 50, will face Davis, 42, again in the November general election. That race will determine who replaces Wicker in January for a full two-year term.
This fight ain’t over.
But ultimately, you know, voters will get “The Change They Deserve.”

Update 11:00pm Eastern. The NRCC issues a statement on yet another humiliating defeat. Dirty or not, it’s another sign of GOP disarray:
NRCC Chairman Tom Cole’s Statement on Special Election Results in Mississippi
Washington- NRCC Chairman Tom Cole released the following statement following the results of the special election runoff in Mississippi’s 1st Congressional District:
“We are disappointed in tonight’s election results. Though the NRCC, RNC and Mississippi Republicans made a major effort to retain this seat, we came up short.
“Tonight’s election highlights two significant challenges Republicans must overcome this November. First, Republicans must be prepared to campaign against Democrat challengers who are running as conservatives, even as they try to join a liberal Democrat majority. Though the Democrats’ task will be more difficult in a November election, the fact is they have pulled off two special election victories with this strategy, and it should be a concern to all Republicans.
“Second, the political environment is such that voters remain pessimistic about the direction of the country and the Republican Party in general. Therefore, Republicans must undertake bold efforts to define a forward looking agenda that offers the kind of positive change voters are looking for. This is something we can do in cooperation with our Presidential nominee, but time is short.
“I encourage all Republican candidates, whether incumbents or challengers, to take stock of their campaigns and position themselves for challenging campaigns this fall by building the financial resources and grassroots networks that offer them the opportunity and ability to communicate, energize and turn out voters this election.”

Here…key quote from by the man behind it:
Then we disagree. Sans the Presidential races, Southern States voted overwhelmingly democrat for national, state and local races from 1965 until 1994, 29 years later. I don’t see any evidence that adherents to the KKK were bucking this trend and voting republican during this same period.
In addition, the Civil Rights Act of 1965 was passed only with the support of Northern republicans, making up for the void of Southern democrat support, including Al Gore’s father and Bill Clinton’s mentor Arkansas Senator Fulbright who were segregationalists.
Your contention: that Southern democrats with klan tendencies, and with 100 years of party tradition to consider, suddenly picked up their blankets in 1965 to go join the party of Northern republicans (who overwhelmingly supported the Civil Rights Act of 1965 to begin with) as a sort of protest against Southern democrats who voted against it…this doesn’t make any sense to me. Especially since Southern states remained solidly democrat for 29 years after this period.
Am I clearly stating my confusion with your premise?
You will have to do better than a newspaper article.
We know you support al quedia ideologically, lgm, and anyone one else who will endorse democrats no matter what the damage to the Constitution.
But the whole Byrd thing? Get over it! It’s 50 years old now.
Most of us are even over what Bill Clinton did.
Oh, I see. So now you’re going to blame democrat losses on whitey. Nice.
So who are you, anyway? Someone who suffers from white guilt, or are you just another sniveling minority?
Some actual historical facts are needed here. Forrest did not form the original Klan. He did, however, order it disbanded, and did work towards ending racial discrimination later in life. He was a complex man, and has been treated very unfairly by those who want to RE-WRITE history, rather than tell what happened.
Likewise Davis, was very progressive in his views on race and slavery for his time. He was a fine man and franly anyone who knows their history would be proud to have a memorial to him in their town. Certainly Jim Limber would
King be a supporter of and a member of the party of black oppression???? No way in hell oppression is what he fought againist, not for.
King was a very smart, aware, knowledgable man. King would not have been sucked in by Democratic propanda.
Party of oppression :Sharption, Jackson, Wright, Reid, and so many more.
Remember Bill Crosby’s experience a few years ago! Who attacked him for trying to help the lower class blacks?
opps
propanda=propaganda
No biggie, but…
Bill Cosby.
Bing Crosby.
Thought the first time was a typo, but clearly not.
Ezu!!! John Kerry Kohn Heinz said everyone participated and was complicit up and down the chain of command.
THAT MEANS HIM.
lgm. Al Gores own father was a Democrat racist.
It must suck to be you.

Pretending is what you do all day Nyk. How the hell did you get this far in life?
Lemme guess Nyk you don’t work for a living, you sure don’t think like a person who holds down a $3000/month mortgage. You have a monthy nut to bust Nyk? Of course not! You’re a seriously weird lib. It’s amazing people think like this.
Nyk doesn’t think MLK would be a Republican today. Nyk has no clue.
Todays clueless liberals have made a mockery of what Martin Luther King stood for. King wanted a society where ones race did not matter. Our current Democrat Party is exactly the opposite. Our current Libocrats are all about division. Affirmative action, set asides, pandering, and hand outs. Failed social experiments and zero results. I’m afraid the days of blacks being oppressed are over. But the legacy of LBJ and the Libocrat welfare society, and the carnage of crime, illiteracy, and illegitimacy without consequence has set our urban black population back generations. And Libs want more of the same. As long as they get the black vote, they’ll continue to sell American blacks a false tale of oppression and unfairness.
Some of our Lib posters HERE are well meaning, but clueless. They want to believe that they are morally superior and care more. So they meander down the path of least resistance. Tax and give, ask nothing, expect nothing, and blame those who object to more failed programs.
BTW, JFK, would NOT be a Democrat today.
He wasn’t weak.
well written
They beat Cosby down with an ugly stick he hasn’t been heard from since. Its interesting where things have gone. Take for instance MLK and his generation like Sidney Poitier. Sidney in the movie, guess who’s coming to dinner, says to his dad the difference between you and I is that you think of yourself as a black man and I think of myself as just a man. Now we have gone full circle with a cherry on top. It is no wonder that Cosby and MLK are not on reverend wrongs monthly magazine. Curiously BHO and Farrakan are. I’ll take Sidney, MLK and Cosby and raise em a Swann and a Thomas. They can have the change. Oh and don’t forget the ultimate man in the wilderness, Alan Keyes.
I have to agree with Nyk to an extent.
It is probably true that most White Racists vote for Republicans.
However, ALL black racists vote for Democrats. Black racists are not afraid of scrutiny and exist right out in the open. McKinney, Wright, Sharpton, on and on and on.
Obama getting over 90% of the black vote indicates something. But the MSM will not even examine the truth there, nor will liberals.
The fact that there are many many many many angry black racists is not disputable. Libs don’t hold blacks to the same standard as they hold whites, because libs PITY blacks, and do not respect them.
Race, religion, gender or national origin is irrelevant to me. It is not irrelevant to libs. Libs use divisive group tactics to gain power.
My one exception would be: leftie leaders do NOT give a DM about people, the ONLY care about THEIR OWN wealth and POWER: socialism.
followers of the left do not have a clue because they chose to live in la la land.
Guys! None of this matters. Not one bit. WE read, stay informed, have principles, etc…The idiots that are going to vote for GrandMaster B Obama, are voting for one reason: they are way more sophisticated than us and, like, it is sooo time to elect a, you know, black guy. Woo Hoo!!! Nothing is going to change the mind of people who actually follow American Idol. To make matters worse, “our guy” is a raging *sshole (global effing warming??)

what the hell is wrong with ‘quote’ tonight?
Thank you allrsn. We can NEVER get beyond race, as long as RACE PIMPS have a MOTIVE not to.
Let’s take Michelle Obama for example.
She has EVERYTHING, yet she is mired in a self pity and unhappiness. She has a chip on her shoulder bigger than Rodhams ample behind. Why?
I can tell you why and it’s truly ironic.
She doesn’t have HOPE. HOPE!!
She bought into the line of bullshyte that self proclaimed black leaders and poverty pimps, and liberal politicians have spouted since JFK died.
You are victims.
You need our help.
You need our money.
You need affirmative action.
Whitey hates you.
Your kids cannot succeed with an advantage.
This country was built on the backs of your grandparents etc.
We are the government and we are here to help you.
Just shut up and take the check.
We’ll ask nothing in return.
DON’T FORGET TO VOTE DEMOCRAT!!!
But she never noticed Jeremiah Wright saying such things over the course of 20 years.
Yeah sure she didn’t.
BINGO: yes that needs repeating and repeating and repeating…
Nyk has no compunction to the moral decay and destruction of America caused by the hand of the Democratic Party. It is the party of insipid hatred to what America stands for. The Democrats’ main purpose is to divide and conquer; it spawns death and the confines the human soul. We will rise up against Democrats, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but we will. I call upon people of all races, creeds, and religions to destroy and decimate the Demoncrat Party.
Global warming on Mars and Venus are viewed as reactionary and in anticipation of earthlings beginning to travel there and pollute the place up with carbon dioxide. source: ASSA research project.
Oh wait I just remembered, they are actually going to be needing carbon dioxide to you know make Mars green again.
Again thank you allrsn.
Here’s the gig. Libs think everyone who doesn’t agree with them and has Conservative views is by definition racist. They believe the Ku Klux Klan is alive and well in America and that Conservatives/Republicans are closeted members. They operate from that assumption. In fact how often does a lib or black whip out the RACE card, when confronted with diversity of thought.
You don’t agree that we should piss more money down the black hole of Urban public schools or welfare. RACIST.
You don’t believe that ALL CHILDREN deserve equal assessment in UNIVERSITY admissions. Again…RACIST.
You don’t believe in public spending racial “set asides”. RACIST.
They claim the moral high ground and assume that EVERYONE is racist. EXCEPT THEM. They are think the rest of us are haters.

RIGHT WING REVOLUTION!
tgusa. There are a lot…A LOT….of liberals who are just useful idiots. They are in constant need of a cause.
They need to find something to believe in that makes them feel superior, yet never have to held accountable for any results. Baby seals. Bobby Seals. Save the Whales. Coexist!! Mean people suck. They find causes that can have no definitive result that is in any way measurable. There are also calculating self serving narcissistic phonies like Rodham and Kerry Kohn Heinz. Then there are poverty pimps like Sharpton, Wright and Jesse Jackson, who get filthy rich via someone else’s supposed misery.
These politicians PREY on idiots, students, and disaffected losers. They also glom onto UNIONS, groups (gays, abortionists, trial lawyers etc) to gain a “coalition” of power and a critical mass base of power. The JOURNALISM SCHOOL LIB GRADS who come out in litters every May see the world in make believe and idealistic ways, and they spread the b.s. like lib Johnny Appleseeds. The populace buys what the MSM is selling as if was Britney Spears new record.
They eat Hershey bars, believing they actually have some sort of NUTRITION.

Undrsiege, Gore is NEVER going to stop his nonsense. He is rewarded handsomely. He is filthy rich, he is loved by Hollywood, the Nobel clowns honored him with a Peace prize, and Bush STOLE the election from him. Before that he and Tipper were the basis for LOVE STORY, he INVENTED the INTERNET and that was before his lunch break. He flies about the world on private luxury jets and apparently isn’t phased by the rise in food prices.
Do you see a pattern developing??
You would have to have eaten lead paint chips as a child not to see what a bloated clownish hypocrite this ass-hat is. But libs don’t see it.
Then again, libs love Kennedy despite him killing a woman and swimming off to be. Libs have no problem with Robert “the Wizard” Byrd of KKK fame, and libs looked the other way when B.J.Billy Clinton disgraced the ORAL office and shot copious doses of Presidential Spoo about the carpets and blue dresses of the ….errrrr……WHITE……House.
If the democrats are so anti-KKK, why is Grand Poo-bah Robert Byrd in with the democrats in the U.S. Senate???
Lenin, same difference. You have the right idea, if you’ve seen one tin pot commie you’ve seen em all.
Cause he doesn’t have anywhere else to go?
Hmmm. So the Republican party is the party of the KKK and racism?
Consider if you will two parallel events:
1)Lott exclaimed at a private party for former Sen. Strom Thurmond’s 100th birthday, that if Lott’s 1948 segregationist presidential bid had succeeded, “We wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years.”
2) In a speech on the Senate floor praising Mr. Byrd as a national treasure during a celebration of his 17,000th vote, Mr. Dodd said, “I do not think it is an exaggeration at all to say to my friend from West Virginia that he would have been a great senator at any moment. He would have been right at the founding of this country. He would have been in the leadership crafting this Constitution. He would have been right during the great conflict of Civil War in this nation. He would have been right at the great moments of international threat we faced in the 20th century.” For reference, Mr. Byrd was a Grand Kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan and fought to derail the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
Lott is a Republican. Dodd is a Democrat.
Lott was ostracized by his party and stripped of his leadership position and eventually resigned.
Dodd continues to this day as a Senator from CT, and was even a presidential contender.
See the difference?
As a kind of ironic aside, Thurmond had an affair with a black woman who was the family maid (Carrie Butler) and fathered a child with her (Essie Mae Washington-Williams), but I daresay that former Klan member Byrd would never have considered such a thing. So who is more racist? (If I am wrong, then I happily stand corrected)
What fantasy are you in????? democrats anti-KKK whoo whoooo
ya right
dm what is up with the quotes tonight?
Dimsdale, I’m afraid you just don’t get it.
Byrd was a KKK leader a long time ago.
Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo Kopechne a long time ago.
Clinton merely lied to 2 grand juries about sex…..yep..a long time ago.
Jesse Jackson, I mean Reverend Jesse Jackson, fathered a child out of wedlock,,……long ago.
So naturally Affirmative Action and Reparations are needed NOW.
No one seems to want to chat about Al Gore’s Dad and his obstruction in the Senate of Civil Rights legislation, and what about B.J.Clinton’s mentor from Arkansas….Fulbright??
As I’ve illustrated quite eloquently (if I may be so bold). Liberals have propogated a BIG LIE, since LBJ.
It goes like this. Everyone who isn’t a Democrat/Lib is racist. They are not.
Dimsdale,
Yes Lott was stripped of his party leadership, but his resignation had little to do with it. He resigned 5 years later primarily to avoid the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act.
Secondly, Lott had a history of controversy with Civil Rights: voted against renewal of the Voting Rights Act, voted against the continuation of the Civil Rights Act and opposed the Martin Luther King Holiday.
Lastly, and probably the most striking difference between Lott and Dodd, Lott’s statement was explicitly racist, whereas Dodd’s statement wasn’t.
I see our resident Liberal comedian Other Side has arrived to give his non-factual opinion. Hello O-S.
Al Gore’s father, CHAIRMAN OF OCCIDENTAL PETROLEUM CO., and Senator D-TN, led a 74 day fillibuster in 1964 (Robert “Kleagel” Byrd) to thwart civil rights legislation. What with the OIL CO, the TOBACCO FIELDS, and ZINC MINES, how did AL GORE Senior have time to FILLIBUSTER legislation that would grant CIVIL RIGHTS to blacks??
I mean, at least Jesus Obama MIGHT HAVE voted…….PRESENT.
There was NOTHING racial about Lott’s comments at Thurmonds 100th birthday party.
Other Side is, as usual, lying.
Dodd’s words praising Byrd were no more nor less Racial.{DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ME AND OTHER SIDE IS THAT I’M HONEST) Byrd, HOWEVER, was a KKK leader, and was serving when Dodd praised him. Not only was Byrd (THE KKK LEADER) serving in the Senate as Dodd praised him, but Byrd is still serving in the Senate. Not only is Robert KKK Byrd still serving, but DODD voted for Byrd as Senate majority leader, knowing fully of Byrds character. Not surprisingly, Dodd is Ted “Swimmer” Kennedy’s best drinking buddy.
Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for commment.
I would like to see the kkk and tucc go head to head in the ultimate cage match of death.
American Racist.
KKK huh? With groups like LaRaza, CAIR, Black Panthers, MEChA & NAACP running around and having free reign we are supposed to be concerned about the KKK? Hopefully most white people aren’t that stupid.
libocrat said:
I wouldn’t call what Byrd is doing as “serving”, unless you are referring to serving himself.
In Byrd’s last re-election, he ran an add with WV’s governor saying something like “We need Byrd as Senator to make sure we (West Virginia) get our fair share.”
Just call him pork-daddy. And call everything else in WV by his name.
I think Byrd has probably been dead for over a decade now. Hey, if dead people can vote, why can’t dead people “serve”?
Altura, you are correct. Problem is, the MSM, and Democrats/Liberals, don’t see La Raza or CAIR et al, as divisive/racist or bigoted.
Only Republicans are racist. Only those who oppose UN-EQUAL rights, or oppose rights for Illegal citizens are racists and bigots.
Democrats/Libs see oppression everywhere and they are here to SNUFF IT OUT. With yours and my tax money.
Laws are for suckers. Once again there are 2 Dem/Lib camps. Calculating politicians, and useful idiots. If you believe for a nano-second, that the DNC hasn’t completely analyzed and calculated the benefits of Mexigrants, illegal Mexigrants as a VOTING BASE……..then you are nuts. The weak kneed masses of naive libs who have swallowed the KOOL-AID (like teachers union members) seal the deal for the Rodham’s of our world.
My eyes started glazing over. Has anyone yet corrected lgm’s assertion that John C. Stennis became a Republican? Check your facts, lgm.
Nyk doesn’t think MLK would be a Republican today. Nyk has no clue.
Todays clueless liberals have made a mockery of what Martin Luther King stood for. King wanted a society where ones race did not matter. Our current Democrat Party is exactly the opposite.
Quite possibly, truer words have not been spoken.
Hats off to your posts libocrat.

My apologies for the typo
An impossible task for a tadpole.

Oy
feebie, you are always very kind.
I speak my mind, and I write clearly and succinctly. I have no fear of the LIBERAL clowns who play hit and run, seagull trollism.
Al Gore is a parody of a bloviating self absorbed, spoiled, liberal, wind-bag.
Unless your average LIBERAL is retarded, said Lib knows and recognizes Gore and Gore’s disconnect with reality, his hedonistic ego, and his utter contempt for honesty.
Libs RATIONALIZE mentally and emotionally.
Bill Clinton is prima facia evidence.
Libs NOW fully comprehend Bill Clinton’s utter lack of character. But that is less relevant than Clinton’s agenda melding with theirs.
Most LIBS, can not possibly miss MICHAEL MOORE and JEREMIAH WRIGHTS disgusting lack of DECENCY/HONOR or PATRIOTISM. Yet they RATIONALIZE.
Randi Rhodes. Alec Baldwin. SPITZER.
AL FRANKEN? And the GRAND-DADDY of all complete FRAUDS….JOHN KERRY KOHN HEINZ??
Libs know. They rationalize. Just like abortion. Rationalize.
If you can rationalize KILLING BABIES or KILLING TERI SCHIAVO or KILLING MARY JO KOPECHNE.

God bless and good night.
There’s going to be a bloodbath in November if the GOP doesn’t start flexing its muscles.
No more Mr. Nice Guy. The gloves have got to come off, and the fight has to be just as dirty as the left fight.
Ok, you a cupcake too.

That is pretty cool.
Sleep well.
CC. The Leftards don’t think that they fight dirty.
McCain believes that sucking up to parts of the Leftard-osphere is a good strategy.
I’m not convinced that McCain is as big a Pansy as he appears.
But, I’m probably wrong.
McCain isn’t a genius. I don’t think McCain is crazy like a FOX.
If he was, the GOP, would be in on the STRATEGY.
They are not.
McCain is seeking LEFTARD votes.
He is out of his 71 year old mind.
The farther LEFT he moves, the FARTHER FARTHER LEFT, THE LEFT CAN SAFELY MOVE.
I’m frightened. Mama!!
At this stage the GOP should not be in disarray, except for the fact that is has ignored a simmering war from within..it is such that the conservatives (economic and social) have been gullible to promote and believe that if someone has an R, they are conservative-not so.
Just to show another way McCain is like liberals, remember he claimed the day before the Florida Primary that Mitt Romney was going to pull the troops out of Iraq. He KNEW it was a lie. But it worked for him. SLEAZY man that he is.
Well I guess it’s ok to make up lies and pass them out the night before an election to swing the vote. I’ll keep that in mind come November.. only thing is, who should be the victim, HillBama or McCaint. Maybe flyers should be passed around saying they’re both heroin addicted pedophiles.
mmmm did someone mention cupcakes?
This situation could well have happened in 2000 if George W. Bush hadn’t been a teensy bit smarter than arrogant dad (another RINO).
The solution?
Picture what our opponents on the left are thinking…to this date they haven’t pushed their agenda because they still fear that despite this year’s situation the conservatives could still make their might known as they did last year with stopping McShamnesty. It is better to be feared than laughed at.
What to do?
Contain the damage.
1. don’t put McCain in office by any, means necessary. why? keep in mind that the number of conservatives rises and falls by how influential R and D politicians feel we are….if we vote like lemmings to WHOMEVER we are handed with we will get that poor quality everytime; if libs and RINOs see us voting for McCain , just you wait until you see how many “trusted” politicians will all of a sudden JUST WANT TO BE JUST LIKE JOHN McCAIN AFTER THE 2008 ELECTIONS
Imagine…we have to put up with just 10+ more McCain clones who come out the closet in key positions all telling conservatives to f$%^k off
For obvious reasons this has to be prevented.
2. The libs will be watching just how hard we are willing to fight for what we believe in…this is why they have been extremely gun shy about taking on the mantle of gun control..they are scared of getting into another knock down dragout battle that kept them from controlling the house of REps. for 12 years
Folks, we are at the point where politically speaking we will have to do the equivalent of calling in an air/artillery strike on our own political position to keep from being overrun almost immediately after Novemeber.
I know some of you out there don’t agree with me, but we will keep nothing politically unless conservatives show themselves willing to not support people like McCain this fall…being pushovers for McCain only invites legislative destruction on things we believe in.
Agree completely - McCain is NOT an option. It’s not that anyone else (meaning Obama/Clinton) is better, but that does not make McCain an option by default, as many try to argue.
The GOP is going to get clobbered in Nov.
It’s going to deserve it.
feebie and libocrat appear to have made a love connection…how cute.
BTW libocrat, are you and undrseige the same guy? You guys both write so clearly and succinctly. Hard to believe you don’t both have high traffic blogs of your own with that kind of talent and blazing intellect.
Oy, Dakine. Give it a rest. Honest.
Comment about the post, or kindly, go elsewhere.
The dems got away with this because they knew the voters were stupid/gullible enough to believe the lies.
some of us would be honored to hang out with feebie
Woke up, read the updates. Sounds like a tainted win, but…a win nonetheless. Shows how much ground needs to be covered before the general election.
The Republican loser must have been an open borders RINO.

I’ve also written that this isn’t politics as usual, and I hope the commenters here aren’t tired of reading it, but it’s true. We are at war, even though the MSM down plays it.We as a nation can not allow a democrat to be elected, because they’re spinless and weak kneed. They’ll cause the deaths of millions in our Great Country and world wide by meekly surrendering to al qadea, the taliban, and other terrorist groups.
Your taxes will go up, liberal judges will be appointed, they’ll bankrupt the nation with socialized medicine, and turn the nation into a spanish speaking society.
If you want to “prove a point to the Republican Party” by staying home or voting democrat, then by all means be my guest. But just remember, it will be a long four years, and you won’t be able to impeach anyone because there’ll be too many dems in office. After Jan 20, 2009, with a dem in, it will be too late. Think long and hard while you’re getting your fishing tackle ready, or just before you push that democrat button.
This thread was on the race card, so I digressed a little with my last comment, but the Presidential race became racial when obummer threw his hat into the ring. With a black man running against a white opponent, it couldn’t be any other way, because as we all know, you can not critize a black person without being a racist. The blacks in this nation will never drop the racist card. It’s their crutch. I’ve known and worked with some great black people, who I consider some of my best friends, and they feel the same way I do, that it’s time to bury the “racist hatchet” and pull the country together, but alas, it won’t happen in my lifetime, especially if the markzist canidate goes in. There’ll be marchers on the streets asking the mesiah to take some more money from “the rich white people” so they can use it to line their pockets with it. I guess I’m a racist by saying this, but what the hell, I’m a racist simply because I’m white.
The Republicans need to stand up for what is right more often. They definitetly need to stand up to this race baiting more forcefully. If Obama does become the nominee, there will be even more race baiting than we’ve seen in the primary - ’cause, you know, Republicans are the real racists. But we’re not and we need to stand up to the accusations and stop tip toeing around the issue (got that McCain?). I’m only 37 and I am so tired of the unfounded cries of racism. That’s why I love reading your blog and the articles of Ann Coulter & Thomas Sowell, but we need more voices and louder voices before we become an even larger minority.
Thomas Sowell = One of the smartest men in America. Love reading his articles.

Interesting. A very effeminate, homosocial writer this dakine.
Goebels would be proud of this action!
Nice to see the Democrats involved in this election learned from history!
Fair enough, if true. I am no supporter of his anyway.
Well, now you get into a tricky area. For example, Gore’s father voted against the 1964 Civil Rights act, and only later voted for related items out of political expediency.
Why is it that Fritz Hollings was never called on to the carpet like Lott? He was a segregationist, opposed integration, made numerous racial slurs, and was a prominent Democrat.
Robert Byrd?
Lott (at a private party): “if Lott’s 1948 segregationist presidential bid had succeeded, “We wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years.””
Dodd (on the Senate floor): “He would have been right during the great conflict of Civil War in this nation.”
Even if you assumed that Thurmond and Byrd were equally racist (however you might measure that), the words “striking” and “explicit” have no place here. They are virtually equivalent, notwithstanding where they were spoken.
