There is no reason to be surprised at this. The justice system is not designed to fight a war.
Can you imagine what your grandfather would say if an enemy spy was caught red handed during WWII, and given probation by the court system?
I think back then the spy would be lucky to get a blindfold, cigarette, and quick justice at the business end of a firing squad.
So what is different? About half the US population is against the United States. Including the majority of the legislative branch. And what is scary is that the mainland United States faces a bigger threat to our way of life than we did during World War II. A war that we fought to win.
Thats about the only variable I see.

Is there anyone in our government/judiciary leadership actually fighting the war on terror? Have we finally become a country run by folks with the idea that punishment for terrorists (foreign and domestic) is: “Ok you bad little boy/girl, promise to never be bad again and run along. Oh, here, have cookie, now play child, play”. I don’t want to sound completely disillusioned but the more I see our country’s leadership in action, the more I worry. With Obama as the poster boy of Hamas/Ayers/Wright anti-America, Hillary in China’s–ok, everyone’s–pocket (ignore her recent supposed anti-China influence crap—maybe she was dodging sniper fire), and McCain–“Close GITMO”, open borders shamnesty Republicrat we face a very unsure future. Sad.

That’s two of us and lot more…I do not believe most Americans can or will tolerate this to the point the country is lost. I’ve said it before, buy your 2nd amendment rights and be prepared.
I just can’t wait for the Obama appointees to get on the federal bench and Supreme Court. The honest citizen will lose what rights they have left and the criminals will get more rights than they know what to do with. Probabaly a lot of “Get out of Jail Free Cards” will be issued.

I am sure that the public as a whole would be outraged is you could get them to tune in to what is goin on in real life instead of what is going on in reality tv.
The leniency of this sentence given what she’s already pleaded guilty to seems bizarre beyond words. Though according to a link in a comment on the hot air article she was only going to get six months max anyway, which is also pretty weird. Anyone know if that’s accurate, and if so why it’s so low?
All the more reason we need an Article V Convention to propose a term limits amendment to the Constitution which should also have an age limit of 72 years for all Constitutional Officeholders (including Federal judges).
However, lets look at the charges the Feds brought which were related to
a sham marriage and unauthorized access to FBI records.
I would think if Ms Prouty was engaged in espionage against the USA, the Government *would* have charged her with that.
Although the judge stayed the deportation order he issued as part of her sentence, TTBOMK “Immigration” could initiate deportation proceedings on their own.
Just goes to show what our involvement in the Middle East snake-pit gets us.
