If recycling was market-driven, and not forced down our throats by big government, it would work well and contribute to the economy and actually create jobs. And such indignities would not be heaped on honorable men (and women)by stupid government workers, as described here.

As it is, recycling is a lot like Affirmative Action: just more government-mandated garbage being forced on us. It is just another tax-wasting scam.

I do not return beverage containers for the deposit, I make sure they end up in the landfill.
