I understand the need for diplomacy; however, the DHS should focus its energy on, you guessed it, homeland security. We can redirect our attention to anyone who may have felt maligned by any mischaracterizations when the job of securing this Nation is complete.
We are just spinning our wheels at this point and looking more foolish by the second.

Just because I am anti-terror, doesn’t mean I have to be anti-Islam. But no one can deny the connection between that religion and the most active and dangerous worldwide terrorist organizations.
This Orwellian bureaucratic step to modify our thinking is not only insulting, it is downright scary. The hubris of people in office or civil service knows no limits.
The U.S. government will never require a Canadian-style human rights commission of the kind going after Mark Steyn to set it on the right path as long it demonstrates such, er, sensitive self-censorship.
One word: CAPONIZED
after reading Stenven Coll’s Ghost Wars, about the internal battle between the “country club” crowd (read: egg heads) and the “bowling crowd” (read: blue collar) at the CIA, this doesn’t surprise me at all.
the country clubers, with all of their philosophy and theory classes in college came out and had no practical experience in the real world. whereas the bowling crowd was comprised of people who’d actually had their feet on the ground…no theory, reality.
the problem with these bureaucrats is they graduated from college (remember, you can’t get many of these positions w/o a degree anymore), and starting working for the gov’t without ever leaving the ivory tower. so they truly believe that if we change our language, become more amening, that it will solve our problems. they clearly never took history, either.
it’s not that Islam has a goal of taking over the world that’s the problem…it’s because we say ‘jihadist’.

How are we going to defend ourselves against an enemy we don’t even know how to or want to classify?
We didn’t land on

To a certain extent we are all pampered by the cushion provided by those who have sacrificed for this great country. We are all living proof of what happens when complacency sets in. Our government is just a shell of what it should be. The American people are but a stone’s throw away from succumbing to socialism. They’ve turned away from self-reliance, individualism, capitalism, traditional families, etc… They’ve been replaced with multiculti, the greater good and entitlements.
Now we have our Dept., of Homeland Security, tripping all over themselves to find the most politically correct way to classify an enemy that has flown two planes into the WTCs and murdered 3000+ Americans. Do I dare mention the fact that we are at war? with these very people.
I pray for this country.

PC started in Europe and Great Britain. Look where they are today. The most popular name for little boys, MOHAMAD. In this country it’s not ILLEGAL it is UNDOCUMENTED. In Phoenix we had a serial rapist attacking little 13 and 14 year old girls. When they caught THE UNDOCUMENTED who committed these horrendous crimes on little girls, the local RAG didn’t call them RAPES, they were INCIDENTS. We will PC ourselves right into oblivion!!!
I am old enough to remember when Ronald Reagan called Gaddafi a “Mad Dog”. Even though we have been attacked by these Mad Dogs, no one in a leadership role has called them what they are.

Let me tell you if I wanted to help you out after a tornado hit your house, destroyed it leaving you with nothing but the clothes on your back and I have to negotiate with you to give you food, clothing and shelter, you will still have nothing to eat, wear or have shelter. I am doing it out of the kindness of my heart, If you don’t except it then your on your own.

Bush has a much richer vocabulary of terrorism. Here’s one, we must fight the evil doers. Evil doers has a much more powerful religious connotation than jihadist and is rooted in the crusades. It is high time the FBI, DHS, and CIA start using this power label. No matter the jihadist are killing themselves to be jihadist and Islam recognizes them for religious martyrdom. The next level for Bush’s war on terrorism is secret but involves identifying the enemy as the boogeyman! Yes we will be fighting the boogeyman. How’s that for a war on terror and what a sweet CIC we have.
The State Department really needs to be run by the military. Really, we have thousands of (military) ambassadors in Iraq and Afghanistan who have a first-hand knowledge of what we face, and are far more effective in getting things done. We absolutely must drain the swamp at Foggy Bottom–the State Department is an abject disaster and has been for decades.
We are so screwed.

Close to this topic: Were they terrorists or just stupid?
My husband and I were recently driving across Houston. I spotted two middle eastern men driving a sedan w/ 5-6 10 gallons red gas cans in the back seat. (BTW-We were close to Hobby Airport - Houston’s second largest.)
When I called 911 w/ the description and license’s plate, the guy asked me, “What’s unusual about that?” (I still kick myself for not taking a picture, w/ the phone I was using to call a worthless 911 operator!)
A few minutes later, we contacted a friend w/ another local police dept. He ran our tag and description. Surprise-The plate and car didn’t match! He called in the FBI.
We’ve never heard from any officials about what we saw. I pray daily for the safety of our nation!!!
