Hillary Clinton took West Virginia as expected. It’s a symbolic victory. Pyrrhic. Hollow. But she’ll sing her electability tune, anyway.

“After tonight, we will have one more proof point, if you will, that Hillary Clinton is the strongest candidate Democrats can nominate,” said Ann Lewis, an aide to the former first lady. “We’re going to go back starting tomorrow and talk to those superdelegates who are still uncommitted and say, ‘You know what? She is the candidate who expands the electoral map.’ You look at West Virginia, you look at Kentucky, you look at Arkansas, you look at Tennessee. You look at what’s at stake and that’s a very powerful argument.”
Clinton arranged a meeting with superdelegates for Wednesday.
She won at least 15 of the 28 delegates at stake in West Virginia, with 13 more to be allocated.
That left Obama with 1,875.5 delegates, to 1,712 for Clinton, out of 2,025 needed to clinch the nomination at the party convention in Denver this summer.
The delegate tally aside, the former first lady struggled to overcome an emerging Democratic consensus that Obama effectively wrapped up the nomination last week with a victory in the North Carolina primary and a narrow loss in Indiana.
He picked up four superdelegates during the day, including Roy Romer, former Democratic Party chairman.
“This race, I believe, is over,” Romer told reporters on a conference call. He said only Clinton can decide when to withdraw, but he added: “There is a time we need to end it and direct ourselves to the general election. I think that time is now.”

I never thought I would say it but Obama has made Hillary look somewhat moderate. At least with the Hillbilly we know we get a self-serving socialist. With Obama….who knows since he seems to hide anything and everything he is about. His link to Bill Ayers killed him off as far thinking he was a viable candidate.
The Dems used hillary.Bill to get what they wanted in the ’90s, and were deservedly thrown under the bus for the Clinton’s policies and turpitude (loss of both houses of congress)…and now that they’ve got Obama, these hypocrites feel righteous again by throwing out Hillary—oooh Wahhhh

I’ve just been saddened at all the WVa bashing. I heard earlier on CNN one of the commentators say “And the patrons of Starbucks, all one of them, in WVa.”
Half a delegate?
That is a compliment to the intelligence of West Virginians. I’ve known some; nice folks.
I refuse to do Starbucks; there’s just something stupid about paying that much for coffee. It’s something the libs would do. Which reminds me:

Why doesn’t the Democrat party just eliminate the “superdelegates” today and let the winner be whoever has the most delegates determined by the actual votes of “ordinary” people?
Having the likes of Jimmy “Peanut” Carter, Ray “School Bus” Nagin and Nancy Pelosi’s daughter determine the outcome because they are “smarter” seems wrong and downright silly….not to mention making a mockery of the Democratic process.
They could add a smidgen of credibility to the circus if they eliminated the superdelegates now.
It could be Ray Nagin, he’s a superdelegate. I’m pretty sure he couldn’t possibly handle being an entire delegate.

I think Hillary is still in it despite the desperation of liberals to pretend she is out. They are trying to force her out even though it is still extremely close.
For the sake of our country I would much rather have her running the country than Barack Hussein Obama, a/k/a Obama 57. The Muslim, who is good friends with terrorists, doesn’t even know basic math or geography.
The most horrible situation would be that borderline retarded Obama gets the nomination and then McCain runs a nice campaign and gets defeated. If he is going to be defeated I would rather have Hillary, who is at least more conservative than Hussein and doesn’t want Israel annihilated.
Hopefully, McCain, who will not withdraw from Iraq and who will fight terrorism, will beat in a landside Obama who chants in perfect Arabic and who doesn’t even know how many states we have.
I still think that Hillary might get the nomination. She does have a point: If the Muslim Hussein cannot win West Virginia and other battleground states, there is no way he can win the election (thank God).

Poor West Virginia. I do go there a lot, mainly around the old coal towns in the south.
Really, I can never see the areas I know of EVER voting for a black man.. it just wouldn’t happen. But they are big Democrats around there.. too many love the social security payments..

Hillary is staying in until June 3rd, at the very least. She will not hang it up until after June 3rd, when all of the last ones are done.
Mark my words: It will be a bloody convention and we may have to deal with GOTSB: Gore on the Second Ballot.

I live in the Washington area, and the Harper’s Ferry/Shepherdstown area (which is considered part of the Washington metro area) of West Virginia is beautiful and not at all–not suprisingly–what Sausage makes West Virginia out to be.
West Virginia is a very diverse state and not all the stereotypical way the MSM is portraying it.
However, most West Virginians are patriotic and down to earth. No wonder they dismissed the borderline retarded Obama 57. Nothing more offensive than really stupid people (Obama who thinks we have 57 states and his equally stupid supporters) making fun of others.
