As to the video embedded in this post, stuff like that always makes me realize what a priviledge it is to serve my country and the honor & pride I have in my fellow servicemembers.

Absolutely beautiful…and no, I seriously doubt that Michelle Obama is proud of our military. Pride in her country is apparently not part of her makeup unless it concerns her husband being president.
That’s a beautiful video, something that Mrs Obama should learn from, if she were only capable, which I doubt she is.

Every time I see our absolutely magnificent fighting men and women it fills me with pride. I am astounded we continue to get such incredible people to protect us. It also depresses the hell out of me that we have such absolute scum in Washington, DC. The idiots/vermin in DC are not qualified to clean out the latrines of our military.

Those Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen in the “Do I Make You Proud?” video are the best in the world. We owe them all a debt we can never repay. I owe my deceased father, who fought in the jungles of China, Burma and India during WWII, a debt I could never repay.
Michelle Obama just absoutely reeks of anger, resentment, hate and vitriol. Look at the woman’s face. This is not a happy person. Even a $335,000.00 a year job and a pedigree from an Ivy League University could not produce an ounce of gratitude or appreciation for being born here.
I cannot imagine how she is going to embarass us as First Lady.

Thank you Michelle. I need to be reminded there are like minded individuals who are proud of the greatest country in the world! The United States of America. When I woke up that morning and read Michele O’s statement I was outraged. Even then I was able to think of so many reasons to be proud of these United States, who has shed more blood and taken nothing in return!! We give more aid then any other country too. But people like Michelle O, et al will never be satisfied and appreciate this wonderful land we were privledged to be born in, yes privledged. I thank God I was born here!! And thank our brave troops from the past to the future that withhold all that is honorable. God Bless them all!!

My son was born in Guatemala, and adopted at 7 months. He’s 7 now, and he’s starting to understand how lucky we are to have him, and how tough it is in other countries. Every day I thank God about our luck to live in the United States. Can’t wait to see Gen. Petraus at the Army War College in Carlisle, PA on Saturday!

As stated- Excellent Video with an excellent song. Proud to be American? I live under the flight path for many C-130 cargo planes here just north of Eglin AFB. I get a lump every time one flies over. Also, “MY Troops” are the RANGER training unit here. Among the best, Leading the way for America. Mousey Michelle has no concept of real pride. She is so caught up in herself, that she can’t see the light.

I’m such a sap that I’ve always liked that song. What a beautiful video and I will forever think of it when I hear the song. I loved starting my morning with this today. When I see the troops I always get such a swelling of pride in my heart. I marvel where some people get such courage and bravery. Yesterday it was over 100 degrees here in Northern CA and I was complaining when my husband asked me to help him stain the cedar on the front of the house. I won’t complain again when I think of our men and women in Iraq and Afghanastan wearing all their battle gear in the heat. Thanks Michelle.

I regret that Michelle O. will never experience the incredible pride that I did the first time I put on my AF dress blues. I was so thankful to represent the United States of America. And, 20 years later, when I took off that uniform for the last time, tears of sadness for not being able to wear it again, but, once again the incredible pride of having been HONORED to serve the people of this wonderful nation. I went to my sons Spring Concert last night and the finale was God Bless the USA. My son and a fellow recent army signee (both part of the choir) came out in uniform during the song. It’s not hard to find reasons to be proud of this country, you really need look only as far as some of the fine young people we have growing up in this world. My son is a junior this year and goes to boot camp this summer (Fort Jackson) and I cannot express how proud I am of him and all the men choosing to serve at this time. http://video.yahoo.com/watch/2680123/7844363
b4itsover. Fort jackson? My wife went there. Tell him to keep his mouth shut and do what he is told and he will do fine. Basic is 90% mental, 10% physicial though it sure doesn’t feel like it at the time. If he keeps focused and motivated, he will be fine.
Michelle Obama will be another in a line of Democrat First Ladies that hate the military. She’d probably be uncomfortable with them wearing uniforms in the White House, too.
Maybe they’ll freeze military pay for years, too, like the Clintons did. Wouldn’t be surprising, considering the plans Barack has for our military future.

Obama has presented himself as a biography candidate rather than an accomplishment candidate. So the people that make up his world view are very relevant. Michelle Obama is part of that, she is a big part of his candidacy.
McCain, on the other hand (holding my nose and voting), has based his candidacy on HIS accomplishments over his 70 some odd years of life.
