Jeff Spicoli threatens the Messiah
Anyone know what the French word for moonbat is?
It’s that time of year again when they flock to the French Riviera for the Cannes Film Festival.
Sean Penn opened up the circus with a Spicoli-esque rant about Barack Obama. Actress Natalie Portman served as arm/eye candy and a mob of pandas appeared to lighten things up.
Mon dieu!
At a press conference beforehand, the actor, an outspoken critic of the Bush administration, offered his views on the Democratic nomination race.
Asked if he would be joining other Hollywood A-listers in pledging support for Obama, Penn gave him a less than ringing endorsement and warned that he has an awful lot to live up to.
”I don’t have a candidate I’m supporting and I’m certainly interested and excited by the hope that Barack Obama is inspiring,” he said, but went on to accuse him of a “phenomenally inhuman and unconstitutional” voting record.
”I hope that he will understand, if he is the nominee, the degree of disillusionment that will happen if he doesn’t become a greater man than he will ever be,” Penn said. “This is the most important election, certainly in my lifetime, and maybe ever.”
What is Sean Penn smoking? I mean, what else is he smoking?
Ah, never mind.
Eric at Classical Values attempts to deconstruct the un-deconstruct-ible.

What is Sean Penn not smoking?
Be a shorter list.
Could he be referring to Obama’s inhuman voting record on partial-birth abortion in Illinois? Probably not, but it’s worth bringing up!
Why does anyone care what Sean Penn thinks about anything? It is a real mystery why anyone gives that nimrod the time of day.
As Chef would say…”flippidy floppidy floo”
Another aspect to that story is the fact that Sean blew smoke in the face of France’s smoking ban by lighting up at the press conference, as did a few other judges.
They laughed about it – as did many in the press who were there.
Funny how they don’t laugh when Americans push back against anti-smoking legislation here at home….
If we do it – we’re endangering the health of others, and our own rights be damned ( as well as the rights of business owners ).
SEAN PENN, hmmm didn’t he do something in the 80’s or something?
No, Spicoli didn’t rant, unless you count, “You dick!”" You want grace under pressure? “Relax. My old man, he’s a television repairman. Got the ultimate set of tools. I can fix it!” Now let’s not quibble about how he, uh, fixed Jefferson’s car; he didn’t ask the government to bail him out! Spicoli sucked it up!
This morning, I realized that one benefit to giving up newspapers was not knowing if the Cannes Lecture series had already taken place. Thanks a lot.

Good point! I was actually going to post something similar regarding the trolls on this blog.
Not just partial-birth abortion, but his vote against the Born Alive Act, which would require medical professionals to treat babies born after botched abortions.
The Born Alive Act would prevent babies from being discarded and left to die in hospital rooms and medical trash bins.
Obama saw that act as a threat to “choice” and has said he doesn’t know when life begins. Clearly, his voting record shows he isn’t sure if it begins even after birth.
Yes, because no one can ever quite live up to his favorite… Kucinich!
I left my Huffington-to-English dictionary in my locker, Mr. Hand.
I was quite surprised that he noted that Obama would have a difficult time living up to the hype. I didn’t think Penn was capable of such insight.
I have a hard time listening to sean penn talk about anything without hearing Spicoli in my head going, ‘Those guys are FAGs!’
I still am completely convinced when he did I am Sam, that he, in fact, had to do no pre-filming preparation for the role.
Aside from me dismissing him as a complete imbecile…I actually like Portman. Sad, really.
But what gets me is the fact that he blames him for having an “inhuman” record, and blesses him at the same time?
To me, that runs along the same logic as “Wellllllll, that Hitler guy…yeah, so he was inhuman, killed a bunch of folks, dont remember who…but had he not been so bad, he could have been a great person, than he could ever be before in his greatness…”
ugh, brain collapse at trying spean Penn-ese. You get the idea
*speak
See….cant even type after trying.
What would Hugo have to say about this?
Sean Penn is about as relevant as Tom Bosley. Give it a rest Penn, and start getting your contacts together to be the spokesman for the 80’s Time-Life Collection.
Dontchaknow – everyone is good deep down inside! If only they had cuddle parties back then, they could have fixed what was wrong. It’s incredible to me that people seek mercy, love, kindess but refuse to believe in a merciful god and thereby try to provide godly things themselves..we are headed for another revolution..genocide…
The fact that anyone even acknowledges Sean Penn’s existence is indicative of the sorry state of our country and society.
He’s saying Obama isn’t socialist enough. What if he said, “Viva La Raza!”, or started wearing a Che shirt?
I think you’re all really mean to be picking on a guy who’s dear friend, Saddam Hussein, was hanged at 6:00 on December 30, 2006. Maybe he’s just not over that yet.
moonbats: “chauves-souris de la lune”
I appreciate the accolade, and to a point, you’re right.
But i’m not religious. I dont believe. That makes me an anomaly among most people here. But i do believe in giving mercy and charity to whom its due, to defending what is correct and just, and to bring wrath upon those who seek to harm us. I dont consider those things “godly”. I consider them being a principled, decent human being.
Not trying to get a discussion started on that…but i did want to clarify my position…i agree some people do try to be god-like in those aspects, but please dont throw all of us heathens to the wolves.
Knarly ! This guy is still WASTED ! You might have a point there Sean, just put a hat on and no one will see it.
I appreciate your thoughts – I will just interject here that in “being principled” is what or how our maker made us to be…imho.
I’m sure you are no heathen and I certainly appologize if I insinuated anything like that!
#13 DaveC, I have the same problem with Keanu Reeves. When he opens his mouth, I keep waiting to hear Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure……….Dude
And I bet all the candidates are eternally grateful for his non-support.
French for “moonbat” could be “a la face de lune”
(The closest translation I could find.)

Concerning the “former Mr. Madonna” – I roll my eyes everytime I hear that someone put a microphone in his face. Seriously, does ANY care what he TRIES to think? Waste of hot air!
Sorry to say, I don’t either.
Sean is just a waste of carbon.
No ma’am…it takes alot more to offend me, you’re just fine
I’m just saying as a borderline athiest/agnostic, i get called a heathen (and alot of other things that i cant even repeat) because of it.
Your post was on target, and you certainly didnt say anything bad
and ty for being polite, its defintely appreciated
Come on, we all know the answer. He once dated Madonna and punched a reporter. THAT, not his acting, was his ‘path to excellence’.
Who died and left this guy political King of Political affairs.
ROFL
I loved the protesting student and one of his University Mumblings. He was like an angry two year old. The kid said NOTHING, just held a sign up and Spicoli ( :lol good one btw) throws his papers…shouts and runs)
He is not gonna be satisfied unless Chavez or Castro is in our cauldron of candidates.
What an ill bunch indeed.
#32 feebebabe, Why oh why do these moonbat Hollyweirder’s ALL pull for a dictator in office. History proves that these type of pseudo intellectual horse asses are the FIRST ones to be taken out and shot !
Spicoli really did sleep through Mr. Hands class, didn’t he ?
The french word for moonbat is “Prius”,which actually means “prick” in English.
Ironically,”prick” actually means french in English.
JLP
Anyone short of Karl Marx would be a disappointment to him.
#35………..snort…….
SNL did a great send up of him.. Seth Meyers was Sean Penn hosting a roast of Clint Eastwood..
and Sean Penn missing the entire point of the roast..
French for moonbat. Here you go – courtesy of Bablefish:
Mama was right.
This is what happens to you after doing all those drugs in school. By the way, who was he channeling just then, Barbara Streisand?
Yasmak, gotta disagree you a bit. I agree that Penn isn’t too bright and is a pretty big tool, I think he’s a pretty talented actor and director. He’s played some pretty complicated characters and is different in just about every role he plays. He’s directed some very good movies as well, such as “Into the Wild”.
I am sure Lenin would think Penn is a fantastic “Useful Idiot.”
This was all a ploy to make Obama seem less radical.
We could say that about just about anyone in Washington.

Are you sure that’s not a picture of Celine Dion?
They shouldn’t have rescued Mr. (little p)penn, when he went out to rescue folks in New Orleans….should have left him out there….for-freakin-ever! I swear, I absolutely hate those HoHo’s (Hollywood Hoes)…..grrrrrrrrrrr!
#41 – Agreed.
But when this panty waste goes outside the confines his talents…he is free game IMHO.
A great actor/director does not a politically responsible individual make.
So lgm is Spicoli
Mr. Hand for president!
Ditto #12.
I agree that Penn isn’t too bright and is a pretty big tool, I think he’s a pretty talented actor and director.
Political bias aside, I watch a ton of movies. I actually LIKE some of the more liberal mouthpieces of Hollywood in their movies, like Garofolo and Tim Roth. . . But Penn, I give a big ‘meh’. Differing tastes I suppose.
I think the reason many actors and actresses make splashes as directors, is that they have VAST imaginations. Unfortunately for movie-goers, rarely is their imaginings based in reality…but boy howdy, give them a anti-human, evil government conspiracy, and their ability to rant gets the celluloid treatment!
Can anyone recall any pro-democracy country Sean Penn has ever visited, or praised? I can’t.
I think you guys are being a little hard on people that pretend to be other people. I’ll have you know Sean Penn did study auto mechanics at Santa Monica Community College, so he’s fully qualified to weigh in on politics.
feebie, I think we’re on the same page…I agree with your last take.
Yashmak, fair point. My wife’s in the “biz” and I love movies, so we see just about everything. I don’t pay much, if any, attention to the political views of actors and directors. A few Penn performances that I think stand out:
Mystic River
The Assassination of Richard Nixon
The Thin Red Line
Dead Man Walking
What the heck does Sean Penn know of the Constitution? Here is a guy who wants a socialist government, Constitution be damned, with him, of course, somewhere in the “elite”. Why don’t these actors understand that with such a government, they would be the first to be “shut up”. Their idea of government allows no, or very little, free speech. I guess he wants to do propaganda films. He better enjoy it or find himself, with others, in the desert somewhere, in some re-education camp. There is a very important lesson to know, when you’re in the public light…keep your politics quiet or run the risk of alienating a large part of your PAYING audience.
I liked Mystic River too.
I told myself the high cinematic quality was more a result of Director
Clint Eastwood’s libertarian outlook rather than any acting ability on the part of Penn, or on the part of his fellow culture warrior Tim Robbins.
I think Sean Penn really thinks he is the Jeff Spicoli character from “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”
Next perhaps we will find that William Shatner really thinks he is “Capt. Kirk” from the original Star Trek….?
The Thin Red Line??
Are you serious Dakine? That one has the dubious distinction of being on numerous lists of Worst War Movies of All Time.
I do recall liking Dead Man Walking though, although I can’t now remember exactly what it was about.
chauve-souris de lune
moon bat
Every time you give the “liberal tree” a shake, some of these overripe ones fall out.
They never seem to run out of “fruit” either…
What a strange election year…
Obama makes Hillary look moderate…Sean Penn finds Obama is not Communist enough…McCain just don’t cut it…
Weird indeed…..
Obama can’t live up to the hype. 4 years of him and then another 8 years of the GOP hopefully led by a POTUS who’s a conservative minority may be a real possibility. Watch many Dems being exposed for the racists they are when they start screaming ‘UNCLE TOM!” at Michael Steele or something. More people are waking up to Obama though. Btw, great pic of Obama, Michelle, I’ve never seen him so mad. He looks downright mean.
