For Hillary: Don’t dream it’s over

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 16, 2008 12:31 PM

Ready for your lunchtime musical interlude? I thought some Crowded House might soothe Hillary’s soul as her campaign crumbles away:

***

Via Ed Morrissey, here’s the NBC news segment reporting that they know it’s over.

They know they can’t win.

“Poor Hillary.”

All together now: DLTDHYOTWO.

Should we just flip a coin at the election booth? seems about the most intelligent means of picking one at this point, right?

Please, please don’t start pitying her, or worse, lionizing her for her “toughness” and “strength”. My guess is she’ll push for VP, being someone who can’t resist climbing the power ladder. My opinion is that there must be something psychologically wrong with a person to want to run for office. She calls it “Public Service”, I call it “Sociopathic Controlling”.

Don’t Dream It, Be It - The Rocky Horror Picture Show

    Whatever happened to Fay Wray?
    That delicate satin draped frame
As it clung to her thigh, how I started to cry
Cause I wanted to be dressed just the same…

Give yourself over to absolute pleasure
Swim the warm waters of sins of the flesh
    Erotic nightmares beyond any measure
And sensual daydreams to treasure forever
    Can’t you just see it?

Don’t dream it - be it.

Ach! We’ve got to get out of this trap
Before this decadence saps our will
I’ve got to be strong and try to hang on
Or my mind may well snap
Und my life will be lived for the thrills…

It’s beyond me, help me Mommy

    God bless Lily St. Cyr…

    Some random thoughts:

Hillary once gave a private speech at my school in NY and I actually had the chance to meet her and had a good look into her eyes and remember thinking, “This woman is detached from reality.” I mean my reality anyway.
I remember an elderly black man happened to be there and was so ecstatic he broke out into poetry, “Ah the sun is sure shining brightly today!” he claimed. But as we all know as sure as the sun rises, eventually it sets.

As good as it feels to see Hillary get the boot, I am more concerned about Obama winning. If he wins, we get a super-liberal in the white house. If he loses we get McCain, another super lib, and probably racial divide and riots that we haven’t seen for almost 50 years. The conservatives will be forever branded racists and haters.

Hopefully at least one lesson has beeen learned here by both partie’s (but especially the Dums) that you by no means ever announce as early as they did you are running. They fried their own bottoms on that call. and really it’s a no brainer, being under constant scrutiny for as long as these idiots have is bound to turn off voters (spinning ways out of sticky comments) etc. Americans have grown tired of this media barrage from these crapweasels and it has shown in all of the candidates. What were the campaign managers thinking!? they all knew some things would come out(”rev” wright)by their own admission. C’mon November!

I love that song. It’s on my PC. IIRC it has to do with the Berlin Wall, but as with any great song can be taken in different ways. Lots of lines relate to the Clinton campaign:

There’s a battle ahead - many battles are lost
    Don’t dream it’s over
    We know they won’t win
I’m counting the steps to the door of your heart.

And Mrs. Clinton you’re a few steps/votes short.

Okay, back on topic-even my At&T home page has a “sorry, it’s over Hillary” banner. I wish she’d stay in until the end in Denver but she won’t. One thing about the Clinton’s they don’t go away, they may disappear for a few months but they’ll be back. I also wish she’d take obummer and mccain with her as well. Not going to happen. I think her plan is to get McCain elected and then position herself for 2012.

Don’t count her out yet. These Clintons have a way of hanging in there. Speaking of Crowded House, they have a song on one of their CDs that ends and then after a few moments of silence they start to sing again:

We’re still here, YAH YAH YAH YAH YAHGGGG
It’s gettin’ late, (we’re still here)..
(background - We won’t go away!)
I’m still hangin’ ’round, keeping my fingers crossed, cuz I still wanna get ____!

An earlier poster wondered why would Clinton rack up more debt in West Virginia and it led me to a memory that in 1960, Hubert Humphrey did exactly the same thing. After losing in Wisconson, the state next to his native Minnesota, he kept going. From what I have read, it was for two reasons, first and foremost, he hated the Kennedys, constantly stating that they “stole” the election with Joe Kennedy’s money. The second reason was his own ego and being convinced, even if the voters weren’t, that he was the best man for the job. I see some of that in Hillary. Funny how history repeats itself.
