For Hillary: Don’t dream it’s over
Ready for your lunchtime musical interlude? I thought some Crowded House might soothe Hillary’s soul as her campaign crumbles away:
***
Via Ed Morrissey, here’s the NBC news segment reporting that they know it’s over.
They know they can’t win.
All together now: DLTDHYOTWO.

I hope it’s over, but will wait until she actually concedes.
She’s Done. Time for her to carpetbag to New York again, and do nothing.
DLTDHYOTWO.
You beat me to my own punchline.
So, if she leaves, and it looks that way…
I get a choice between a liberal democrat and a liberal republican.
Should we just flip a coin at the election booth? seems about the most intelligent means of picking one at this point, right?
Please, please don’t start pitying her, or worse, lionizing her for her “toughness” and “strength”. My guess is she’ll push for VP, being someone who can’t resist climbing the power ladder. My opinion is that there must be something psychologically wrong with a person to want to run for office. She calls it “Public Service”, I call it “Sociopathic Controlling”.
don’t go away mad…just go away
Any word on whether or not she will take Obama and McCain with her when she leaves?
Aww c’mon, I can dream can’t I?
I’ll will believe it when she holds a press conference and concedes in person.
Until then it’s just media hype. IMHO
I don’t see her feet sticking out from under the house yet. Continue to watch out for flying monkeys.
Buh Bye Hillary! Come back when you can’t stay so long!
Michelle, you have a delicious sense of humor. Good one.
She’ll wait to after Kentucky (a big win) and anounce that she is running as an independant.
Elmira Gultch.
So why rack up debt in WV if she made this decision after NC and Indiana? She won’t leave until she’s made the point that BarryO can’t win the swing states without her.
MOVEON.ORG (its ironic if you remember the reason the website was created)
Great New Zealand band (even though Australia always tries to claim it).
Perhaps a more appropriate piece of music.
Don’t Dream It, Be It - The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Whatever happened to Fay Wray?
That delicate satin draped frame
As it clung to her thigh, how I started to cry
Cause I wanted to be dressed just the same…
Give yourself over to absolute pleasure
Swim the warm waters of sins of the flesh
Erotic nightmares beyond any measure
And sensual daydreams to treasure forever
Can’t you just see it?
Don’t dream it - be it.
Ach! We’ve got to get out of this trap
Before this decadence saps our will
I’ve got to be strong and try to hang on
Or my mind may well snap
Und my life will be lived for the thrills…
It’s beyond me, help me Mommy
God bless Lily St. Cyr…
I wonder if hillary OR obama has read “Wicked”
Come on Hillary, stay in it..
Rocky wouldn’t of quite..
make Obama work for it..
in it to win it.. or at least until the convention in Denver..
Some random thoughts:
Hillary once gave a private speech at my school in NY and I actually had the chance to meet her and had a good look into her eyes and remember thinking, “This woman is detached from reality.” I mean my reality anyway.
I remember an elderly black man happened to be there and was so ecstatic he broke out into poetry, “Ah the sun is sure shining brightly today!” he claimed. But as we all know as sure as the sun rises, eventually it sets.
We shouldn’t be cheering. The longer she stays in it, the worse it is for the Democratic party, and thus the better for our nation at large.
Actually, the Democrats got rid of two for the price of one. Nice work Dems.
I was hoping she would stick around for awhile in the hopes that her and Obama would bloody each others noses irreparably. At least long enough for the Coup de grace of getting Obama out of the race too.
The way things are headed with this election I’d suggest you all keep your lamps full of oil…
Or as we used to say in the biology lab, “Adios, amoebas.”
Or listened to the Stones song…Sympathy For The Devil!
Hopefully, their guises have been uncovered.
For those who have difficulty deciphering DLTDHYITAOTWO…
Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you…
When you think about the Billions of $$$ that Bubba could have stuffed into off shore accounts, a former Prez. running around the world selling political favors with Shillary sitting in the oval office. Why would she want to drop out, she can fight for the VP spot and have Obama wacked ala Vince Foster.
I guess this means that Jerri Ryan isn’t on Hil’s hollywood A list. Bye Hil!
@iamsaved: Thank you for that. The 5 mile long acronym there almost bwoke my bwain.
see, this is why you’re also one of my favorites
that song is my cell’s ring tone
call tone is the imperial march (i was bored, AND i’m a dork LOL)
“Please allow me to introduce myself, i’m a man of wealth and taste…”
Gotta love the Stones!!!! Thank you, kindly.
anytime
“Pleased to meet you! Hope you guessed my name! But what’s puzzling you is the nature of my game…”
and it fits for me here
As good as it feels to see Hillary get the boot, I am more concerned about Obama winning. If he wins, we get a super-liberal in the white house. If he loses we get McCain, another super lib, and probably racial divide and riots that we haven’t seen for almost 50 years. The conservatives will be forever branded racists and haters.
Someone give me a ‘we’re screwed’ out there!
don’t know if Hillary would like this song, “trying to catch a deluge in a paper cup” may remind her of Bill.
When I think of the Clintons, I think of Michael Myers of the Halloween movies or Jason of the Friday the 13th movies. I don’t dream that it’s over, instead, I fear that it’s not.
Hopefully at least one lesson has beeen learned here by both partie’s (but especially the Dums) that you by no means ever announce as early as they did you are running. They fried their own bottoms on that call. and really it’s a no brainer, being under constant scrutiny for as long as these idiots have is bound to turn off voters (spinning ways out of sticky comments) etc. Americans have grown tired of this media barrage from these crapweasels and it has shown in all of the candidates. What were the campaign managers thinking!? they all knew some things would come out(”rev” wright)by their own admission. C’mon November!
It isn’t over until the fat Bill sings.
Oh, wait…
I don’t know that Obama as the last man standing is anything to cheer about.
I love that song. It’s on my PC. IIRC it has to do with the Berlin Wall, but as with any great song can be taken in different ways. Lots of lines relate to the Clinton campaign:
There’s a battle ahead - many battles are lost
Don’t dream it’s over
We know they won’t win
I’m counting the steps to the door of your heart.
And Mrs. Clinton you’re a few steps/votes short.
First off, thanks for the video clip, it was always one of my favorites. I know I’m off topic and I’m dating myself but I love the 80’s musick.
Okay, back on topic-even my At&T home page has a “sorry, it’s over Hillary” banner. I wish she’d stay in until the end in Denver but she won’t. One thing about the Clinton’s they don’t go away, they may disappear for a few months but they’ll be back. I also wish she’d take obummer and mccain with her as well. Not going to happen. I think her plan is to get McCain elected and then position herself for 2012.
It’s not AlohaGuy, but when this started alot of peeps were (me included) saying “anyone but Hillary” then Oblahma carpped all over that parade.
The head rots first and stinks to high heaven. She should start throwing dirt on herself and save her minions the trouble.
That song is on my favorites list. Good choice.
Don’t count her out yet. These Clintons have a way of hanging in there. Speaking of Crowded House, they have a song on one of their CDs that ends and then after a few moments of silence they start to sing again:
We’re still here, YAH YAH YAH YAH YAHGGGG
It’s gettin’ late, (we’re still here)..
(background - We won’t go away!)
I’m still hangin’ ’round, keeping my fingers crossed, cuz I still wanna get ____!
I think that’s her theme song.
I don’t know what Hillary’s favorite song is from the 1980s but I suspect that Bill’s favorite song is “Roxanne” by the Police. BTW, that is probably also Elliot Spitzer’s theme song.
I hear you aj. This election looks worse every day to me.
An earlier poster wondered why would Clinton rack up more debt in West Virginia and it led me to a memory that in 1960, Hubert Humphrey did exactly the same thing. After losing in Wisconson, the state next to his native Minnesota, he kept going. From what I have read, it was for two reasons, first and foremost, he hated the Kennedys, constantly stating that they “stole” the election with Joe Kennedy’s money. The second reason was his own ego and being convinced, even if the voters weren’t, that he was the best man for the job. I see some of that in Hillary. Funny how history repeats itself.
She needs to stay in. BO will probable self destruct before the convention. He just can’t seem to stand anything negative. His handlers must be having a major problem with him.
I hope she stays in as long as possible.
I’d love to see both partys self-destruct. They need a law that says if voter turnout is less than a certain percentage, NEITHER candidate wins!
Then maybe we could really clean house.
When ‘Her Thighness’ finally does exit stage left, gracefully kicking and screaming, it would be nice if she took a classy page from former Presidential candidate Ted Kennedy’s book:
