As far as O’Reilly – he’s in the tank for Messiahbama. It gets tiresome and my defence is flipping the channel just like I do every time Geraldomundo is featured. They both make my teeth hurt.

Nope, I don’t expect a world-wide outbreak of responsibility, lol. If so, AIDs would be eliminated in one lifetime.

I believe even the most optimistic of those who have been researching and working for a cure have lost much of their original optimism, from all I’ve read. You get news every now and then “A cure has been found” only to see that hope dashed when it’s tested in the real world. And I’m an optimist myself, but I’m also a realist; my thinking is that this disease will be with us for a very, very long time and become more resistant to treatment, much less cure, as time passes.

And that’s sad, as I suspect many of us know and care about at least one person who has been impacted by it in one way or another.

I don’t think there will ever be a cure for it, zorro. I’d have to check with an epidemiologist but I can’t help but think there’s gotta be some level of mutation from person to person, where the virus “latches on” to an individual’s DNA, taking something from it. So even if a “Person A” could be cured, by the time it get’s to “Person B” – much less “Z” – you’re dealing with a different critter.
