Sweetie still fighting his own shoe; uses grandfather as human shield

Behold! The glass slipper of appeasement

Yesterday morning, I noted the little rumble between George Bush and Barack Obama over the president’s remarks in Israel about the folly of appeasement. “He could be talking about Jimmy Carter, Cindy Sheehan, the White Flag Democrat leaders in the House and Senate, or hell, his own State Department,” I wrote, but concluded that “if the shoe fits,” Obama should wear it and stop whining.

Today, the White House says Bush was talking about That ’70s Appeaser, Jimmy Carter, not the Messiah.

Doesn’t matter who exactly Bush had in mind. The shoe still fits Obama’s delicate foot, but he refuses to slide into the glass slipper of appeasement and own it:

Barack Obama struck back hard at President Bush and John McCain Friday, accusing them of hypocrisy and of distorting his position on dialogue with nations hostile to the United States, telling a South Dakota crowd that “I’m running for president to change course, not to continue George Bush’s course.”

“I want to be perfectly clear with George Bush and John McCain, and with the people of South Dakota,” he said at a Watertown campaign stop. “If George Bush and John McCain want to have a debate about protecting the United States of America, that is a debate that I’m happy to have any time, any place and that is debate I will win because George Bush and John McCain have a lot to answer for.”

In his comments before the Israeli Knesset Thursday, Bush seemed to equate the Illinois senator’s foreign policy views with those of Nazi appeasers in the years before World War II, though he did not mention any names. Obama strongly criticized the president for the remarks Friday, calling them “the kind of appalling attack that’s divided our country and that alienates us from the world.”

On Friday, Obama also fired back at McCain for saying Thursday that the Democratic senator was not qualified to protect the nation. “[John McCain] talked about elevating the tone of debate in our country. He talked about reaching out in a bipartisan fashion to the other side. Then not an hour later he turned around and embraced George Bush’s attack on Democrats,” said Obama, who called the Arizona senator’s Iran policy “naïve and irresponsible.”

Obama calling someone else “naïve” and irresponsible?”

Snort.

More:

“He jumped on a call with a bunch of bloggers and said that I wasn’t fit to protect this nation that I love because I wanted to sit down and negotiate with tough diplomacy with countries like Iran. Accused me of not being fit…[or] being able to protect this nation,” he added.

And?

***

Debbie Schlussel has a new report on the latest dangerous company Obama keeps.

Michael Goldfarb responds to Obama using his grandfather as a human shield:

[Obama:] McCain “accused me of not being fit to protect this nation – a nation my grandfather served in World War II– a nation that’s given me everything that I have,” Obama said, then pivoted to attack Bush and McCain on a series of issues: Iraq; the survival of Osama bin Laden’s and the Al Qaeda’s leadership; Iran’s strength; and Hamas’s and Hezbollah’s ascendancy.

My great uncle killed a lot of Germans, and I have the war trophies to prove it. I’m not sure that makes me uniquely qualified to protect this country. It’s odd that Obama continually defends himself using the politics of association, while at the same time condemning those who would attack him based on his associations with people like Rev. Wright. Obama’s father was communist, but he didn’t get to choose his father, or his grandfather. And their politics have little bearing on his own. But he did choose to associate with people like Robert Malley who would attempt to appease Hamas. And he hung around with Bill Ayers, who clearly does not love this nation. Those associations would seem far more relevant than his grandfather’s service in the Second World War.

Did you order your t-shirt yet?

Allah’s got the vid and takedown of Obama’s unctuous, expedient rejoinder.

    Isn’t that an oxymoron?

Or, more to the point, how do you foster diplomacy with a nation (or a religion) that expressly says it’s demands are: convert and submit or die?

I don’t see a whole lot of wiggle room in the negotiation process.

I hate to say it, but he could become a worse president than Jimmy Carter.

Obama posited — incorrectly — that Arabic translators deployed in Iraq are needed in Afghanistan — forgetting, momentarily, that Afghans don’t speak Arabic.

“We only have a certain number of them and if they are all in Iraq, then its harder for us to use them in Afghanistan,” Obama said.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: Some people see only the external aspect of the enemy, and not its ulterior motives. The people who came to occupy Iraq – it seemed as if all they wanted was to take over the region and its oil. But when you peel off the outer layer, you see that their analysis is different. They have realized that something is about to happen in the region. The hand of God is about to emerge and eradicate the injustice in the world. They discuss this among themselves. Look how much attention they have given it. Some people believe the Hidden Imam is living his life somewhere, without any concern for the problems of humanity. If this were the case, there would be no existence at all. Everything would be in chaos. The Hidden Imam manages all the affairs of the world.

If he was NOT an anti-semite he would not have attended Wright’s Church for 20+ years or attended the Million Man March. To clarify, *usually*, trophies are items brought home that the opposing side had possession of…

For instance, from WW2, like a German field pack, an officer’s pistol, a helmet (i believe its called a kaiser helmet), and other such items. From Korea, items like a flag, a rifle (i’m not sure of the type, apologies), and other such items.

hope that clears it up a bit, if its the right application.

Then there’s a ~15 year association with one W. Ayres, domestic bomber, hater of America (yet happy to enjoy the money from academia, much of it government grants), and launcher of political careers.

What about the association with one T. Rezko, someone who among other things obtained about $43million to refurbish many housing projects (about half of which went bankrupt before being refurbed), yet couldn’t seem to fix the heat in many? Whatever happened to the money?

I hate to say it, but he could become a worse president than Jimmy Carter

    Ditto!

The President did not name him, but with all the ruckus the Dems and Obama made, they effectively acknowledge the hit. Besides, it is foolish for Obama and his party to deny what he and they actually advocate. He said he’d sit down with terrorists without preconditions. Now he wants to project a stern negotiator image, redefining his stand once again.

Barack comes out as a whiny, pouty baby. Who would want him for a leader?

The man isn’t even named, and he comes out quickly to defend himself. It shows his lack of character. Obama is nothing more than a Chamberlain. He has no concept of history or even understand it. He is, as I have said before, nothing more than a rookie, with no experience, running on a stupid platform of nothing more than vague “hope and change”. Oh, there will be “change” with him as President…something this country may never recover from. The only “hope” there is, is that he will not destroy everything and start WW3 from a weaker side, when he is in the WH.

The weak and cowardly consider Swiftboating a bad thing. As for me, I feel strong and honorable men who served REAL combat tours in Viet Nam pointing out Senator Kerry’s lies is a good thing. But that is Leftist thinking..a lie is the truth if it is helpful and the truth is a lie if it is not helpful.

But as Senator Barrack Hussein Obama did not serve on a swiftboat we could Reverand Wright him or Bill Aryers him.

Chard402003 & Sonofdy, I am married to an Army Officer who will drop his paper work and resign on January 20, 2009, if BHO is the CIC. I know four other officers (2-Navy, 1 Air Force, 1 Marine) who will do the same. All of them speculate as to how many others will follow. All 5 did at least 3 deployments under Clinton and one even served at the White House. Although technically they’re not to discuss it, he said the rumours of military officers being pressed into service at a cocktail party are “not to be taken with a grain of salt” and no, he’s not my husband.
I know the Army Times was yapping either this week or a previous week about all the military money BHO is getting. Perhaps he is, but I have to wonder-the Military Times papers are so liberal, who knows if it’s even true.

Yes, narcissism as being overly sensitive to criticism, as “me, me, me”, and as projecting your faults onto others. All Obamessiah (PBUH) traits. A fourth feature of narcissism is a “preoccupation with perceived challenged”. As in feeling challenged by another person when you’re really not. As in believing Bush is putting you down as an appeaser when he didn’t even mention your name.

I love how this fiend hides behind the bravery and accomplishments of his grandfather. What a coward. The man never served in the military himself, thought it beneath him, yet he can speak about war or how he’ll be the next Commander in Chief?

What did Pres. Bush say that wasn’t wrong? Is Obummer’s skin so thin he has to feign injured dignity?

I have a few questions for this poser:

    1. Why should I, and other military spouses/family members vote for you?

    2. How do you think you’re engendering yourself to military members when you constantly malign the current war? How is that helpful?

    3. Why do you think you’re qualified to be president when you’re never served in the military or even have a remote understanding of how the military operates? I don’t think that advisors will ever give this guy any full understanding (just like Clinton).

It really reveals the character of a person when they need to hide behind the accomplishments of others. It’s pathetic, sad, but yet another huge indicator that this guy will continue to torpedo the troops even more because of his arrogant belief of “love thy favorite tyranical dictator.”
