Obama, appeasement, Bill Cosby, and shop class
It suddenly occurred to me what this latest Obama outburst–all the Obamessiah’s disciples assuming that Bush was talking about Big O when the word “appeasement” was mentioned–reminds me of.
I used to have a lot of Bill Cosby tapes. On one of them there was a monologue called “shop class”, which goes a little something like this:
In Junior High in Philadelphia, one of Bill’s bright friends brought a bullet to school and informed them that if you threw a bullet in the furnace, it would explode. So of course, they planned to try that out. They picked shop class to try it out.
They threw the bullet in the furnace and kept hammering, trying not to laugh..tink,tink…tink,tink…BLAM!…tink,tink (snicker)…tink, tink.
The shop teacher was furious, and demanded to know who threw the bullet in the furnace.
Tink,tink (snicker)…tink, tink…
Seeing no answer was forthcoming, this shop teacher tried psychology. He said, “you know, a guy throws a bullet in the furnace, it reflects on his mother.”
Tink, tink.
The shop teacher continues, “A guy’s whose mother would teach him to do something like throw a bullet in the furnace, well, his mother must be pretty awful.”
Somebody whispers, hey, Weird Harold (or whichever character it was), he’s talking about your mother. Tink, tink.
The shop teacher presses on, “I mean, the guy’s mother must be pretty low-down…”
At which point Old Weird Harold jumps up and says “Hey, I didn’t throw no bullet in the furnace! And STOP TALKING ABOUT MY MOTHER!”

I love the old Cosby bits… Obama doesn’t strike me as the type to have ever taken shop class, maybe he’d have a better grasp of the common man if he did.
All the Dems got together and said, ” if the Repubs say anything that could be remotely construed as saying Obama is weak on defense, or might be an appeaser, we’re going to jump all over it with such force they will never say anything like that again.”
These are the people McCain wants to be nice to.

Am I the only one that thinks Bill Cosby would be a better president than any of the current crop? It may be a wasted vote but he probably has a better chance than Bill the Cat and is certainly much better than these clowns we currently have.

Won’t be much longer, and Obama will declare talking about the weather off limits. After all the talk about a Clinton coronation, it turns out that Obama is the man who would be king.
We need to get a pool going on for who Oblahma will throw under the bus next.
My favorite Cosby routine:

Proof positive that it doesn’t matter what’s said. It’s who said it. He wasn’t this exercised when Hillary said the same thing Bush did.

So if obama is elected, it makes you wonder how he will handle criticism from the world’s tyrants?
Easy, there won’t be any; it will be handled just like the U.N. Lots of flowery language followed by capitulation to the bad guys to avoid conflict.
When he has handed away everything the despots want from the U.S., the American voter will wake up and boot him out of office. Just like Jimmy Carter.
This is one of the worst cases of megalomaniacal-isticism on record.
The guy now thinks that any words spoken by any world leader anywhere in the world is somehow referring to, or related to him or something he might have, or was going to say or do.

Oblahma not only didn’t take shop class, we know he also didn’t take geography, history or civics.
After all we do have 57 states, right.
The reaction of Obama and the donks pretty much show that they think they are appeasers.
I used to comb the used record stores and flea markets for Cosby albums. Now, pretty much every Cosby album is available on Zune (even the ones where he sings, yuck!). I’m rasing my kids on them. They love him as much as I ever did.
Oh, and I Spy is available (free & legal) on hulu.com. I’d always heard about it, but never watched it. It’s some of Cosby’s best stuff. (The scene where he kills a man with his bare hands while Eartha Kitt shoots herself up with heroin is a tad distubing, tho. I’m glad that Theo never set him off that badly.)
Lets review. 1 Columbia alum, 1 Princeton alum both with Harvard J.D.s, sit in a church on Sunday for 20 years and don’t notice GOD DAMN AMERICA, GOD DAMN AMERICA, GOD DAMN AMERICA, they go to the home of 2 TERRORISTS who blew up parts of the NYPD and the Pentagon, and made it to the F.B.I.s most wanted list.
AND OBAMA NOTICES NOTHING.
Then the President of the United States of America gives a speech before the ISRAELI KNESSET in TEL AVIV, ISRAEL and Obama notices that he is being talked about.
This guy is a bag of crap.
I like Bill Cosby’s shows including “I Spy.”
As for Obama, I’m waiting to hear what he will say during the impeachment hearing.

At the risk of hijacking this thread -
“Fat Alberts Car” is one of the funniest, if for no other reason than Cosby’s sound effects (I won’t spoil it – I downloaded it from itunes, though it may be available for free on youtube)
I’m confused by Team Obama’s strategy of angrily injecting himself into a topic where his position (diplomacy with those who want to destroy us) is weak to begin with. This is another example of Obama’s poor judgment; which just reminds me of absurdities like “I was a member of Trinity Church for 23 years, but I didn’t know who Jeremiah Wright really was.” Huh?
On a similar note, I can tell that this is a bad strategy for Team Obama by observing Chris (Obama’s Fluffer*) Matthews’ performance the other night. In a nutshell, the Fluffer “Dan Quayled” a conservative guest by derailing the guest’s response on the subject, and dealing him a “straw man” question where it was apparent that only the Fluffer’s scripted answer was going to suffice. When the conservative guest refused to play his “gotcha” game, the Fluffer went ahead and wrote off the conservative guest as an idiot who “doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” Now, the lefties on the blogs are following suit and posting that “conservatives are idiots” on youtube.
All in all, a questionable response to the “appeasement = weakness” argument from Team Obama.
*Fluffer – one who artificially inflates another’s ego for personal gain and/or insincere promotion of ideals or policies.
Cosby is still a liberal Democrat (I’ve heard him on other issues) but he’s got his head on straight about families and responsibility. In fact, I’ve begun to wonder when he will drop the democrap party (had the same thought re: blacks for a long time; still don’t understand why they vote demo so much.)
Although President Bush never mentioned him (or anyone) as such by name, I just figure that Obama recognized himself by description – the fact that his is an appeaser – and he’s made it clear by his reaction.
Well, I knew he was talking about Carter. God help us..he gave away the Panama Canal not to mention a myriad of other “accomplishments”.
And the Clintons enabled the Chinese and N. Korea to access classified information.
Obama is clueless. Is this what the Dems stand for???? And why is Pelosi in Iraq anyways?
Michelle, just for the record, a bullet is the projectile part of an assembled cartridge. (It doesn’t explode, since it is constructed of copper and lead.) It’s the gunpowder mixture inside the cartridge and primer that explode. As common citizens, we do not have the ability to legally purchase “exploding” ordinance.
Sorry to take you off of the point, but it makes one sound uninformed when they talk about a subject using the wrong nominclature. I want you to be as knowledgeable, and correct as you normally are. Love ya! Sorry to be so picky this morning.
As I watch this man I have a strange feeling there is something different than we have seen before. Yes he is a socialist/fascist, but we have had plenty of those in the last century. He is charming and charismatic, but we have had plenty of those too. But this man had the ability to mislead millions in a way I have not seen. He is to be feared.

Well, I don’t know about being a better President, but Cosby would surely be a most entertaining candidate during the race, and his views on responsibility and family would keep me interested. I would have to see his views on foreign matters. If I had to pick a favorite routine, out of all the ones I love, it would have to be “Noah”, I think.
Thanks see-dubs. You know I was reading up on Aristophanes last night (the first political satirist) and by perusing an ancient guy’s satire I realize Obama is an expert at making a weak argument look like a strong argument.

Don’t know where one might find the video, but many years ago Cosby did a show on PBS called On Prejudice. He sat in a chair under colored lights that changed hues when he went he’d take on another ethnic or racial group- Italians, Irish, Blacks, Puerto Ricans and so on. And he used words like the n word, spics, dagos, micks, polacks and so on. All those so and so’s are one welfare, booze it up..whatever the stereotypes were about a group. It was funny at the time.
Saw Robert Culp when I was still watching O’Reilly now and then. He said that he and Cosby were still best friends. I recall one episode where Bill Cosby was belittled racially by one
character. Culp protested and that sort of thing was stopped.
Geez, for funny recall some of Redd Foxx and Richard Prior’s risque stuff on LPs.
BREAKING NEWS CNN : It appears Sen. Edward Kennedy experienced a seizure before being hospitalized in Boston, according to a statement from his office.
Obama said that his “thoughts and prayers” are with Kennedy.
“We are going to try to find out as quickly as possible what is going on,” Obama said, and added that he would call Kennedy’s wife, Vicky.
“He is one of my favorite people,” Obama said.
I hope Obama’s foreign policy doesn’t turn out as badly as the spice rack (I use that word loosely) I was required to make in my 8th grade shop class. A bullet would have distracted nicely from that catastrophe.
Unfortunately, the Cosby bit is within the realm of sanity so I have another that I think is a little more appropriate for the dimlibs, (sorry I can’t recall the comedian’s name that told this on the ‘Tonight Show’):
A man is waiting in line to buy a ticket to a ball game. Someone yells out from the stairs, “HEY BOB!”. The man quickly looks up and scans the stairs but doesn’t see who it is. Inside, before going to his seat, he’s get in line to buy a beer and again someone shouts out from around the corner, “HEY BOB!” He’s so agitated that he gets out of line, runs around the corner but, again, doesn’t see who it was. He gets his beer, goes to his seat, a performer is just about to sing the first note of the National Anthem, the park is dead silent and someone shouts out “HEY BOB!!!”.
Spilling his beer all over the guy in front of him, the man shouts back with all his might, “LEAVE ME ALONE!!! .. MY NAME’S JOHN!!!!”
I’d say his ’shop’ teacher.
She just didn’t ‘understand’ his quilting abilitys, and his upside-down cake.

This post brought back great memories. I listened to my Dad’s old albums (Why is There Air? and Bill Cosby is a Very Funny Fellow, Right?) after digging them out of Grandma’s house. Some of my Cosby favorites-

I loved it when Bill Cosby imitated the way pregnant women walk! I was pregnant at the time, and could identify!
Then there’s the jello spreading on the floor, or the ONE grocery cart with the wobbley wheel…I could go on and on! Cosby taught us we had more in common than we even knew, and at a time in our country when that was sorely needed!! God bless you, Mr. Cosby. You still have scores of fans.

The terrorist monkey can not be negotiated with. The only reason to maybe talk to Ahmadamadmonkey in say maybe Switzerland is to provoke him by debating his ideology and criticizing his hatred. Force him to say lots of stupid and insane things which would be widely publicized thus educating more people to his ideology’s insanity. This, I am quite sure, Obama would never do.
Ouch, Obama and the poor little Dems were hit a little too close to home by what GW said. It’s one of the best things Bush has ever said. Bravo! And he didn’t even have to mention the Dhimmicrats or any body’s name.

FWIW – It wasn’t until recently that I knew Cosby’s story of listening to the “Chicken Heart” radio show was real.
Someone used this exact comparison to the Cosby routine on the Dennis Miller Show the other day, except they attributed the protest to Fat Albert. Dennis cracked up at the idea.
Obama is just like the Clintons, thinking everything is all about him. What a prison they’ve constructed around themselves!

You know…not one to EVER point out just how hypocritical the Liberals and Democrats are…Lord knows I would NEVER disparage the people on the Left…
but I can’t help but mention just how blatantly hypocritical B. Hussein Obama and the Obama-mamas and all the other swooning throngs of Obama-mites are when it comes to the entire, “Don’t ask/comment/talk/question our ‘Empty Suited False Messiah’, considering the fact that they have also been going on for the last 7+ years about how secretive the Bush Presidency and associates have been.
It seems to me, that B. Hussein Obama would want to be as forthcoming and open as humanly possible, thereby side-stepping the appearance of hiding things…like a very close relationship with a lyin biggotted racist lunatic that he would never throw to the curb and abandon…seeing as how said person was quoted by B. Hussein Obama as being like a father to him…or anything else.
Why, I would venture to say he is starting to come across as someone with anot just a few skeletons in his closet that he is terrified of being found out…he has an entire anthropological dig and museum FILED with more skeletons than Indiana Jones found in the Well of Souls. You could actually infer that his Presidency would be a new “Velvet Curtain” type, taken from his Socialist heros version of the Iron Curtain…nothing would ever get out and his Cabinet would be sealed shut.
Now, I could point al that out…but then, I would just not want to come across as someone who would disparage and talk poorly about the Left or call them hypocritical, lying bigots.
And we can’t have that now, can we?

And the best thing of all is that you can listen to him with children of any age, and not be embarrassed or have to cover their ears due to all the f-bombs.
The “jello spreding” is particularly apropos with respect to Obama, because it is what young Bill did in response to a radio show telling him about an attack by a giant chickenheart!
Now what candidate most resembles a figurative chickenheart.
