The proud Obamas lash back
You know what I have to say about Barack Obama calling the Tennessee GOP “low-class” and “unacceptable” on Good Morning America because of its ad answering Michelle Obama’s lack of pride in her country?
Barack, sweetie, your conversation with ABC News’s Robin Roberts insisting that your wife’s public remarks on the campaign trail be exempt from public criticism doesn’t help my children.
The proud Obamas claim they want to talk about the “issues,” rather than “distractions.” But when the candidate puts his bitter half on stage and his chief public surrogate, what comes out of her mouth is an issue.
Michelle Obama was asked about the ad on “GMA,” but her husband said, “Let me just interject on this.”
“The GOP, should I be the nominee, I think can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record,” Obama said. “I’ve been in public life for 20 years. I expect them to pore through everything that I’ve said, every utterance, every statement. And to paint it in the most undesirable light possible. That’s what they do.”
“But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,” he said.
Obama praised his wife’s patriotism and said that for Republicans “to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her I think is just low class … and especially for people who purport to be promoters of family values, who claim that they are protectors of the values and ideals and the decency of the American people to start attacking my wife in a political campaign I think is detestable.”
Obama later added, “I think that the American people also would like to see some restoration of decency to this process. And when you start attacking family members, there’s a lack of decency there.”
The only ones engaged in distraction are the Obamas when they pout about being held to account for her statements and how they reflect his own ideological underpinnings. The Macho Man act is a poor smokescreen.
If the Missus cannot take the heat, keep her away from the microphone.

I see what Barry is doing..
he is getting his wife to talk about every issue he can get.. then when any criticism comes his way, no matter what, he’ll say that the critics are going after his wife, and that it is a distraction..
mj, I disagree. Politics is a dirty business and, unfortunately, most people aren’t junkies and don’t have time or inclination to follow the issues closely. Campaigns put huge resources on attack ads with sound bites because the research shows they are effective. Rev. Wright is far bigger than John Kerry’s service record and will be a major factor with independent voters. Along with a number of “missatements” by BO his wife and Bill Ayers can easily be made into one. I wish it were otherwise but this is the Republicans best hope.
Obama has proven remarkably inept in handling criticism, whether you agree with him or not. He could have put the Rev. Wright imbroglio to rest quickly enough by saying, “Yeah, I knew what he said during the last 20 years. But it had about the same effect on me as the off-the-wall prattle of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson has had on Republican standardbearers.” Likewise, when Eleanor Roosevelt said anything controversial, FDR would brush it off by saying in effect that this is Eleanor being Eleanor.
Since Obama and his handlers have serious problems dealing with the heat, they don’t belong in the kitchen.

We’re going to have to do something about Iran sooner or later. Obama truly lacks the will to do anything about it.

I have a very serious question here. B. Hussein “Empty Suited Messiah” Obama keeps whining about how the GOP won’t talk about the issues.
He is claiming that there are nothing but “distractions” and has been since his campaign began.
I have a real good question…just who is it, exactly, that is holding the gun to his head and keeping him from discussing said “issues” regardless of what anyone else is doing?
Seems to me, that if it was so all powerful important to get to the meat of “the issues” that he would just do it.
Frankly, it looks as if he is generating these “distractions” so as to have an excuse NOT to talk about “the issues” for if they actually DID talk about “the issues”, he would be exposed as not having ANYTHING TO SAY about “the issues” except what he has already…”We need change”.
Problem is, he does not tell anyone what we would be changing to…other than a neo-Socialist way of operating based on his track record.
Change merely for change sake is not so much a good thing. you need a direction, not just a slogan. To vote for someone just because he is “charismatic” and is a good speaker is what plunged Europe into the Nazi Hell it was for 13 years.
So let’s really take a good look at what he is saying and doing. These “distractions” have definately got him “off message” because he is now incapable of simply flashing his winning smile and tossing out a few sound-bites. Now, he actually has to defend what he is, what he does, and who he thinks and considers to be “good people”. That alone will demonstrate someone’s ability to make and choose good decisions.
So far, from the looks of everyone he claims as friends and family…he couldn’t make or choose a good decision if he had a Sherpa guide and a map.
I sure would like hear Mr. Obama’s opinion regarding the comments made at HuffPost a few months ago about Nancy Reagan.
The criticism of Michelle Obama’s public statements pale in comparison to the vile comments made about the former first lady.
Wasn’t it just in the past two weeks that some liberal idiot communist… I mean columnist from the west coast was taking shots at Laura Bush? Did the president feel the need to come out and threaten that clown? Nope.
Liberals like two sets of rules. The one’s they play by where they can lie, cheat and steal to get what they want and then the holier than though routine that demands nobody question them over anything they do or say.
His, Barry Obamma’s, entire rhetoric is obfuscation 101.
And not just Nancy either. Look at what has been said recently…and not so recently…about Laura Bush. Does their hypocrisy refuse to allow them to admit that the Left has gone out of their way to repeatedly insult a First Lady who has gone out of her way to keep from the spotlight and has always presented herself as a model First Lady…not a “Co-President”?
Are we actually looking at the dawning of another “Co-Presidency” nightmare?

Well, we shall see how this goes. In election after election we have seen a Democrat candidate sweep the country with chirisma or what ever it is called these days. They were the unbeatable savior from the Left that would save America from her evil ways.
In 1968 it was Clean Gene McCarthy and then Hubert Humprhy started out like jackrabbits and both fell apart.
In 1976 Jimmie Carter came off the Democratic Convention with a 30 point lead over Gerald Ford and barely won even with Watergate and the fall of Saigon.

My late parents and grandmother are spinning beyond control in their graves. Our ancestors fought and died for freedom and prosperity. I hate to think they did this in vain.
