The proud Obamas lash back
You know what I have to say about Barack Obama calling the Tennessee GOP “low-class” and “unacceptable” on Good Morning America because of its ad answering Michelle Obama’s lack of pride in her country?
Barack, sweetie, your conversation with ABC News’s Robin Roberts insisting that your wife’s public remarks on the campaign trail be exempt from public criticism doesn’t help my children.
The proud Obamas claim they want to talk about the “issues,” rather than “distractions.” But when the candidate puts his bitter half on stage and his chief public surrogate, what comes out of her mouth is an issue.
Michelle Obama was asked about the ad on “GMA,” but her husband said, “Let me just interject on this.”
“The GOP, should I be the nominee, I think can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record,” Obama said. “I’ve been in public life for 20 years. I expect them to pore through everything that I’ve said, every utterance, every statement. And to paint it in the most undesirable light possible. That’s what they do.”
“But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,” he said.
Obama praised his wife’s patriotism and said that for Republicans “to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her I think is just low class … and especially for people who purport to be promoters of family values, who claim that they are protectors of the values and ideals and the decency of the American people to start attacking my wife in a political campaign I think is detestable.”
Obama later added, “I think that the American people also would like to see some restoration of decency to this process. And when you start attacking family members, there’s a lack of decency there.”
The only ones engaged in distraction are the Obamas when they pout about being held to account for her statements and how they reflect his own ideological underpinnings. The Macho Man act is a poor smokescreen.
If the Missus cannot take the heat, keep her away from the microphone.

This “bozo” for President must have the democratic leadership cringing. I can’t imagine that, even if the leadership had half a brain, they would allow this guy to speak anymore, without the “spin doctors” and speech writers doing it for him. Every time he opens his mouth, the foot finds a nice home. The democrats can’t be really serious about this guy representing the party…can they? I mean, this guy could put McGovern and Dukakis to shame.

I gives me great comfort to mingle in this predominately anti-Obama forum. I have a serious question for any of the few mis-guided Obama supporters who enter here. Can you name one positive thing this whiny, ignorant incompetent has done? How can you ignore his associates?
Think about it. Hating Bush is no reason to subject this grand nation to an Obama suicidal socialist experiment.
The liberal infestation, I mean control, of academia is making the need for reeducation camps increasingly unnecessary.

17. We can’t mention that he is half white and apparently ashamed of it.
18. We can’t mention that the female media is ga-ga over his package.
19. We can’t mention that many of the male media is too.
20. We can’t question his patriotism.
21. We can’t question his huge income, mansion and big gas guzzlers.

Michele Obama goes out on the campaign trail for her husband. She utilizes her free speech right to criticize and spew hatred towards America – calling it “a downright mean country.” Yet, when others utilize their free speech rights to criticize her comments, Namby Pamby Barrack lectures us that his wife is “off limits.”

This will probably get lost in the 300 or so comments here, but here goes.
Somebody needs to point out that the left has a twisted idea of freedom of speech. They believe they should be allowed to speak their minds about any issue they feel passionate about, but without consequences. Freedom of speech to them means “We are free to speak and you better shut up and listen.” Opposing opinions are not allowed. They are instead labeled as bigotry and censorship, and a great deal of effort is made to silence them.

Yup. Some of the anti-war left will talk about an atmosphere of stifling of dissent of the war. No one is stifling dissent. It’s just that not everyone agrees with the anti-war left, and they think that’s “stifling dissent”. Comical.
If Obamessiah (PBUH) gets so upset when a fellow American disagrees with him or his wife, what chance does he have against all the whackjob dictators around the world. Maybe he’ll do ok as long as they don’t hurt his feelings. But don’t do that. That’s not acceptable.

Vatodio, while I agree with you for the most part, I must point out a HUGE DISTINCTION.
Michelle Obama is out on the campaign stump, giving speeches and expressing the viewpoints of her husbands campaign.
She is REPRESENTING Mr.Obama explicitly and is doing so FOR HIS CAMPAIGN.
In doing so, she has become part of the campaign and her words, opinions and rhetoric are part of the campaign and discourse. As such, her words, opinions, and attitudes are subject to scrutiny. That is a choice that she and the Obama campaign made. She has POLITICIZED herself. Her words and obvious GAFFES are PART AND PARCEL of OBAMA’S campaign. She was speaking on his behalf.
If you are suggesting that both Mrs.McCain and Mrs.Obama should be scrutinized without reference to their relevance to the prospective campaigns, then I disagree.
This isn’t a personal attack. Michelle Obama is speaking as PART of the campaign, and as such, she has injected herself into the campaign. Mrs. McCain should be scrutinized if and when she injects herself into the discourse.
Well, Let me start by saying one positive thing was he wrote a law in Illinois to require the videotaping of interrogations. Passed the IL Senate 35-0. This was good because it protected the rights of the accused. I know its a hard thing to swallow now.
Another item on the list is he played a major role in the first ethics law in the state in 25 years.
The Lugar-Obama Act on keeping weapons out of terrorist hands, particulary nuclear arms from old soviet stockpiles.
Getting rid of no-contract bids with regards to FEMA.
Work on a public database of all federal spending and contracts.
Work on the Lane Evans Health Care Benefits Improvement Act for Veterans healthcare when returning and on duty in the war of terror. Yea. All that.
Obama wants to end secret ballots in union voting. Wonder if he harbors greater ambitions regarding the demise of the secret ballot?

What it does, is it establishes the Union without a secret ballot supervised by the National Labor Relations Board. If a majority of workers in the group sign, then the NLRB recognizes them as a Union and the employer has to negotiate a contract. The usual time between secret ballots and recogniztion of the union is 6 weeks. 6 weeks of hell for the employees and mass firings. I would love to see a Unionized Wal-Mart. How about you?
