Bingo. Apparently, “personal choice” only applies to things like abortion and promiscuity (you know, that whole “keep your laws off my body” mantra).
The religion of global warming requires its followers (both willing and unwilling) to starve, freeze, and encourage a regression of the standard of living.
India wants each US citizens to cut 1000 calories off his daily diet. This is from a country with over 1 billion people.
The funny part about the pic on the link is that if you scroll over it, the picture continues to get bigger each time you scroll over it. I did not realize it at first, but Gore gets REALLY big after scrolling over 25 times or so. I just thought I’d point that out because it wasn’t obvious to me.
The irony of liberals calling the American people gluttons is no doubt lost somewhere on Hollywood Blvd.
Al Gore needs to worry less about the size of my carbon footprint and more about the size of his buttprint.

Americans start getting all upset if someone talks about food.
Now, imagine how smokers have felt since the ’70s. I want no person in my business, pocket, kitchen, bedroom, patio at all. I am an adult, and as long as I’m paying for my own stuff, you will not tell me how to live!
I agree that too many Americans are gluttons. I don’t hate America, either, but I think this is true. It’s nice and thoughtful to conserve because it shows you care about future generations. Americans would do well to eat a more plant based diet, as well. It would not only suck less energy, but we would be slimmer and healthier as well. Later on, this would decrease the burden on our hospitals and health care and you also get the benefit of being healthy, painfree and active in your middle to late years.
However, I do get disgusted as everyone else does, when politicians don’t follow suit. I’ll never forget his $60.00 a pound ham. Gross. Totally extravagant, totally thoughtless on so many levels. I don’t believe his is a religious man at all at heart because he is so into stuff like that rather than living a noble life.
Beat to me that one, libertyvista. Wanna share a waffle?
Two things:
Next time Obama asks, “Can’t I just eat my waffle?” The answer is, “No, I just got off the phone with China and India and they want you to put the waffle down. They are not okay with you eating your waffle.”
Second, this was the guy that ate $100/lbs ham in Philly a month ago wasn’t it. I guess when American’s pay 100 bucks for ham, they can’t eat that much.

I don’t eat beef but boy do I want one of those… ummm, ummm good.

Yeah, considering the average calorie recommendation for women is somewhere between 1250-1750/day, I can imagine how great I’ll feel eating only 250 calories!
Look, I’m for being responsible, eating healthy, and the like. But this is ridiculous. You want to talk about conserving resources, Obama? Alternatives? How about hydroelectric dams, nuclear power, wind farms? Oh, that’s right – the NIMBYs and BANANAs make it impossible to build those things!
How about tax incentives for voluntary “green” living?
Or, better yet, how about not treating global warming as a religion and putting so much weight on the opinions of the world?
As an alternative, if we start calling food “abortions”, Obama won’t be able to regulate our eating at all!

Since the Dems subsidizing of ethanol and it’s resultant food shortages (and skyrocketing prices) are keeping people from buying too much food, I guess that Obama’s ideal is coming true. But GOREbachev can afford it because that carbon credits company he runs keeps him knee deep in swine grease and cheddar.

Certainly you can help your odds by eating more healthy food and less crap. I probably consume more antioxidants than just about anybody. But when you factor in genes, stress, and other variables, there ain’t no such thing as a sure thing.

As much as I can’t stand the hypocrites telling us what to do, there ARE a lot of people who eat way too much. Hell, our poor people are fat! How can we be fighting a “hunger crisis” among fat people? A lot of those kids “who go to bed hungry” are fat. WTF? Nobody in our country should ever truly go hungry, but by my definition if you are fat, you are not hungry.
There are also many good reasons to cut back on energy consumption, although Al Gore is a complete A-**&! for his hypocrisy on the subject
I live just outside of Portland. I was one of the “4 out of 5 people” who did NOT go to Obama’s appearance on Sunday. However, when he’s in Portland he stays at a hotel right across from my office, and it has not escaped my notice that every time he travels in a large black SUV.
Mmmmm… this topic is making me hungry. I think I’ll have Chicken Parmesan Hero from Geraldi’s for lunch today.

There was a study done recently (one that is escaping my memory for a link atm) where it was shown that the impact on cost of healthcare for those living past 70 (nursing homes, meds, assisted living, etc.) is higher than those died before 70 (heart attacks, diabetes, etc). So the whole eat better to save money on the healthcare system appeared to be in question.
If people want to eat themselves into an early grave so be it. Do you really want Big Brother gov’t breathing down your neck forcing you to eat your spinach and throwing you in jail for having a cheeseburger?
I’m not advocating eating like a glutton (as Gluttony is sinful) all the time, as I believe that you should eat a balanced diet and exercise and keep your body and mind in the best state of readiness as possible. But I don’t think Big Brother belongs in my living room watching what I eat.

Most American’s don’t get enough protein or fiber. Add more protein and fiber. Without out any other changes, people would gain muscle and lose weight.
We don’t need to get weird on restrictive diets. Once I stopped dieting and ate more protein and fiber, the weight melted off.

Every disaster that comes along, we want to be first in line to provide aid to a bunch of people who are trying to overthrow our way of life. How many of these nations or the United Nations ever helped the U.S. when we had a disaster? I say kick everyone out who doesn’t belong here or who doesn’t want to be here and use our own resources for our own people.
Imagine the impact that this influx of illegals will have on our resources but you don’t hear liberals decrying that illegal immigration must stop. Instead, they can’t come up with enough crafty ways to give them amnesty and keep them here permanently.

I would suggest that Obama and his ilk, stop flying their private jets on their 2 year campaign……or take a commercial airline…..or public bus……or small cars….or bicycles etc.

The headline on Drudge yesterday was shocking enough, “Obama says we can’t eat what we want…” The full quote was a nasty bit of crypto-marxist ranting:
“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.
“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.
What the article missed was another of his quotes,
“We can’t continue to consume 25% of the earth’s energy with only 3% of the population.”
Oh really. Three things jump out at me there. First, nice to see you getting your quotes from our enemies again. Two, while not a lie, it’s a damnable deception that only a crypto-marxist America hating a**hole would say. And three, why don’t you and your mouth-breathing supporters volunteer to live like your family in Africa so we can get that ratio right. Look, energy consumption is the byproduct of a high standard of living. All these anti-capitalism p****s want to do is screw this country into the ground and this kind of speech is a perfect example of that mindset.
When talking about our energy consumption as a percentage you should always place it in context of our GDP and not percentage of population.
Using that comparison: we have 26% of the worlds GDP and use 25% of it’s current energy consumption. And even that doesn’t tell the whole story because crypto-marxists treat all things economic as static values. As the world achieves a higher standard of living, particularly China and India, both percentages will decrease and the percent energy use will decrease much faster due to their inefficient use of energy compared to the US.
