I really am going to miss all the blue-on-blue action Hillary Clinton has stirred up this campaign season. Here’s Obama supporter Allison Benedikt ripping Hillary for playing the sexism card in the Village Voice.

As The First Viable Female Contender’s bid for the Democratic nomination sputters to its inevitable end, everyone and their mother/sister/daughter has something to say about the poisonous misogyny that’s apparently to blame…
…Here’s the thing: There is plenty of sexism—more than enough, thank you very much—in this country. Which is why it’s so sad to see Hillary’s supporters (and lately even her female detractors, and way too many column inches) elevate her to some kind of goddess warrior, symbolizing the decades-long fight for gender equality, absorbing the entirety of history’s catcall in one massive blow, and then standing tall again because that’s what women do. Powerful stuff, except that she’s a lying, race-baiting insult to our collective intelligence. Powerful, if she and her husband hadn’t sold out poor people in the ’90s or if she had stood tall like a woman against the war in Iraq or if she wasn’t right now trying to change the rules of the game and stir up the worst kind of identity politics…
Yowch.
How about a little vintage Blondie for the companion music video? “Rip Her to Shreds” seems especially apropros. Last line: “Well, bye bye sugar

The only bright spot of this campaign season for me has been watching the Democrats go at it. What to do, once their nominee is finally named?

I think Operation Chaos achieved results even beyond the wildest expectations when it was launched by Rush. By propping Hillary up in the big states that followed Super Tuesday, both candidates are so battle scarred that they don’t look as good for the general. AND to make it even more delicious, the Dems are splitting along their affirmative actions alliances, and really pissing off their own base.
The super delegates now that the problem of trying to decide who to alienate the most, women or the black community. It doesn’t get better than this.
The added bonus is the “Clinton legacy” is no longer propped up by liberal fuzzy memories from the 90’s. They are exposed for who and what they are. AND the Clinton’s now know how it feels to be bashed by the main stream press. Welcome to the world of Conservatives who get bashed 24/7 by the liberals in the press who are supposedly “even handed”.

I did my best yesterday in OR and threw my vote in for Hillary.
Oh, and just so everyone knows - the Obama crowd in Portland may have been 70,000 strong - but a large chunk of that was there to see The Decemberists, who were playing before he came on stage (and it was a previously scheduled show - NOT for Obama). If there was no band and if it was the usual rainy day, that crowd would have been a lot smaller.
I can’t go along with this - i would much rather see McAmnesty win but if he must lose then better to lose to HRC than BHO.

What’s most annoying about these folks is that they claim to be true Democrats — which to me means, ostensibly, the party’s platform lines up with their principles. Anyone who hands their vote to John McCain out of sheer spite (and I have to assume that’s what would be at the root of the decision, because these women are fundamentally opposed to the policies McCain now professes to support) has zero values they strongly believe in, and are almost akin to a swing voters (but worse).
