Say nice things about McCain, earn “points”
The McCain campaign has a special program encouraging its supporters to leave positive comments about the candidate on other blogs. Via Jonathan Martin, we learn that those who leave McCain talking points on “featured blogs” like conservative Red State and moonbat Daily Kos will earn “points:”
Help spread the word about John McCain on news and blog sites. Your efforts to help get the message out about John McCain’s policies and plan for the future is one of the most valuable things you can do for this campaign. You know why John McCain should be the next President of the United States and we need you to tell others why.
Select from the numerous web, blog and news sites listed here, go there, and make your opinions supporting John McCain known. Once you’ve commented on a post, video or news story, report the details of your comment by clicking the button below. After your comments are verified, you will be awarded points through the McCain Online Action Center.
In the spirit of transparency, if any of you leave pro-McCain comments in order to earn those “points,” I request that you disclose that information when you post here.

Michelle, this is totally creepy. It’s even worse than Cindy McCain’s recipes ripped off from the Food Network. It’s like when I was a kid and my mother told me to smile even though I didn’t feel like it. I’m an adult and I’m going to say what I want about McCain and I don’t have to smile if I don’t want to either. Now when I read any blog mentioning McCain I have to ask myself, is this real, or is it Memorex? Is it a heartfelt post, or is a sack of cow manure composed to get “points”? Does this post count for points? Yeah John, you look great for 71. And you have a nice smile. I wonder if it’s sincere?
You know it is sad when a campaign stoops to this low of a level. It is one thing if devout R~Bots vomit his praise everywhere, but to try to bribe praise?
Yeah, that is what I consider high ethics and morals.
Nice: McCain was by far the best of the people running for the Republican nomination. He took a principled stand against torture (before he quietly let it drop).

This is fairly dishonest and underhanded. Rewarding people (no matter how meagerly) for spamming sites with pro-McCain propaganda is unethical. What’s next, “Earn 500 points by throwing a pie at an Obama rally” ?

Oh yeah, this is reeeeally gonna make me want to vote for McCain. This is reminding me of Obama: on substance, he doesn’t have anything near what it takes to get the popular vote, so he has to rely on fluffy promises of HOPE and CHANGE and the Democrat Party’s astoundingly un-democratic delegate system to win. McCain leaves a few steps out and tries to bribe us anyway.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now and would like to hear what others have to say too. McCain made the comment he knows nothing about economics and apparently doesn’t think this is of any importance. I assume this is probably true about most of Congress.
How… how can anyone make legislation and vote on bills when they know nothing about economics? Shouldn’t that be mandatory before being elected to office? How disfunctional is it when someone doesn’t understand what the IMPACT will be economically of the bills they author or vote on.
Is it any wonder our country is such a mess…
Conservatives need to recruit a batch of economists to run for office.
I’m adding that to the long list of things required before I’ll return to the GOP. Many people say, “It’s the economy, stupid!” I’m changing that to It’s economics, stupid!

I am finishing a bachelor of science degree in economics before heading to an as of yet unknown MBA program preferably in finance.
I more than agree with you that candidates should not be making laws on subjects they don’t understand..particularly economics.
The only way to address the problem you have alluded to is to require that no one may graduate from undergraduate college without having completed economics courses through the intermediate level…so that said students has the tools to assess what happens when this or that is done to an economy, and its inhabitants.
This kind of tool of analysis is even more important today than say 30 years ago because of the fact that globalism-the free flow in trade, people, and money is now reality and not some arcane theory-it impacts how bad or good how you will live depending on what actions your nation’s leaders take.
OK…how about:
“John McCain…at least he is not Barak Hussein!”
