Hillary’s foot-in-mouth moment: Will Bobby Kennedy assassination remarks be the final nail? Update: “Regrets”
Stick a fork in her. She may, at long last, be done.
Or will she? I’ll put up a poll, but first, here are the reports of her Bobby Kennedy allusion in an Argus Leader editorial board meeting this afternoon. Spreading like wildfire:

“Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama. ‘My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don’t understand it,’ she said, dismissing calls to drop out.”
“Clinton made her comments at a meeting with the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader’s editorial board while campaigning in South Dakota, where she complained that, ‘People have been trying to push me out of this ever since Iowa.’”
Obama spokesman Bill Burton responded to Clinton’s remarks. “Senator Clinton’s statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign.”
MSNBC –
NBC/NJ’s Mike Memoli notes that Clinton said something similar the day after the Indiana and North Carolina primaries. “Sometimes you gotta calm people down a little bit. But if you look at successful presidential campaigns, my husband did not get the nomination until June of 1992,” she said. “I remember tragically when Senator Kennedy won California near the end of that process.”
In fact, the specter of assassination was first raised in this campaign on January 8, when a Clinton introducer, a retired teacher from New Hampshire, brought it up before Clinton spoke. “If you look back, some people have been comparing one of the other candidates to JFK, and he was a wonderful leader. He gave us a lot of hope,” the retired teacher said. “But he was assassinated, and Lyndon Baines Johnson actually did all of his work and got both the Republicans and Democrats to pass those measures.”
ABC –
The Clinton camp explained, “She was simply referencing her husband in 1992 and Bobby Kennedy in 1968 as historic examples of the nominating process going well into the summer. Any reading into beyond that would be inaccurate.”
Hot Air’s Allahpundit links to a video snippet of the remarks. “Exit question: Will the number of Democrats who want her out of the race still be in decline after this?”

I don’t know. i read it and understood what she meant. I think a great many people will, even though B. Hussein Obama’s campaign will try to ride it into the ground at every turn.
She was pretty dumb to make it without being more clear as to why…but she has that contract she made with a certain someone signed in her blood, and I think she will ride it all the way ot to see if the contract will pay off.

Actually Hillary’s talk of RFK’s assassination shows how little Hillary knows about history. It also shows how poor an analogy she made. When Bobby got assassinated on the night of the California primary in 1968, he had no chance of winning the Democratic nomination. Humphrey had all the hacks lined up and they could safely ignore the will of the voters anyway. That is the way it was done at that time. So her analogy does not work at all. Can’t this silly lady just go away. I mean Hootersville is not such a bad place and Hillary does like a shot of whiskey and she likes hunting and fishing. According to Hillary, she spent her youth catching fish and then going to a Friday night fish fry. Please Hillary, just go away.
I think she should have stayed away from the comaprison to RFK, but I undertand her though process. The convention hasn’t happened yet and he isn’t officially the nominee until the convention is over and who knows what will happen before then. Bad analogy! Of course Obama would get way with it if it was on of his many gaffes and blunders.

TXVET2 #46, I think I might have your answer here. I’m not 100% sure but I would not put it by him. If he’s not familiar to you, you might want to look into the Rezko case (jury is still out). The part that throws me is that he’s a big Republican “Power Broker”. His wife introduced the President at the opening of the Lincoln Presidential museum in Springfield, Illinois. Same place Barack opened his run. I was born and raised there and know the political landscape very well. (I’ve got family memembers currently serving offices in the city and county.)

Who knows? Chicago/Illinois politics is totallycorrupt, and his connection to Rezko is well known. John Ansell puts forth another link to Rezko, above, although I don’t see the connection to Obama. At any rate, it seems to me there’s little doubt that the skids have been greased for him all the way down the line, as for instance his senatorial opponent being forced to pull out of the race, leaving him essentially unopposed.
I thought HRC’s reference to RFK was perfectly innocent, relating to a month and a democratic primary, and nothing more. I mean, what more COULD it relate to? Apparently it touched a raw nerve of some people, people who IMHO are a bit too wrapped up in themselves and their own feelings.

A simple google search of his name will produce all the answers you need. “Bill” lives in Springfield as does Senator Turbin. “bill” could kick his nightstand and millions would fall off of it and he wouldn’t even notice. Given Barrak’s ties to Springfield, and knowing how influencial “BC” is, he would be the perfect one to have Obama on his hand as a sock puppet.

It’s possible but to set the historical record straight, she was talking about the California primary when it used to be held in June. Things have changed a bit this year, so her historical reference is invalid on that point.
I’m not one to defend HRC, but I find it remarkable that she said something that is arguably open to interpretation, and everyone is offended, shocked and want her gone…but it’s okay that BO can try to finesse and dazzle us into thinking that the Rev. Wright’s rantings, which were clearly hate fests, were really not so bad?
