I hope so, but my husband isn’t so certain. Obama’s certainly proved – beyond the gaffes – that he’s unfit for office and more inexperienced than any other candidate.

But I’m concerned as hell that he’ll win. Hello, socialism and hello, Nanny State.

    I don’t think I could tolerate it.

By the by, what’s the make-up of Sunrise, FL? It’d be interesting to see if Obama’s more apt to get the names correct when he’s in a place he prefers to be (like that crowd in Oregon)…

EQ, I think Sunrise is made up of a lot of retirees. It’s in Broward County if I remember correctly and I think there are a lot of former New Yorkers who live there. The only reason I remember this is because a classmate of my father’s from grade school and her husband first settled there (St. Raphael’s Class of 1944) but felt out of place being from the Chicago area. So they moved up to Winter Haven-where the Aged P’s live as well as there seemed to be more people from the midwest in that area and they thought the people were nicer.

How about his statment in his famous “race relations” speech when Obama ended the speech by telling the story of the “white woman” in South Carolina who had to eat mustard and relish sandwiches in order to afford health care for her mama? That was a doozy. By chance I was visiting South Carolina a few weeks ago and checked the prices at the local Piggly Wiggly. (If you travel through the Southland, you will know Piggly Wiggly!)
I found that you can buy decent cold cuts cheaper than buying mustard and relish. So the lady he talked about had no reason to eat mustard and relish sandwiches unless she actually liked the taste of this lethal combination. But what would you expect from a guy who goes to Iowa and tries to relate to people by talking about the price of arugula at the Whole Foods?
BTW, I bought a gallon of OJ at the Piggly Wiggly for $1.99 so there is no reason why the lady in Obama’s tall tale could not get her Vitamin C daily requirement quite cheaply.

I agree. George Bush is a very poor speaker without a teleprompter. It is sometimes embarassing.

But I’ve listened to this Obama, caught off guard by questions, fumbling and stumbling for words, producing sentence fragments and sometimes complete rambling sentences that make absolutely no sense, and do not answer the posed questions.

He is, in my opinion, as poor if not poorer extemporaneous speaker than is our current C.I.C.

So, where’s the criticism from the Dems on this issue?

Hillary Clinton is a much better communicator from the top of her head. She’s much quicker on her feet with spontaneous oration than is Obama.

And no one in the MSM points this out, because the MSM are so far into the tank with Obama that they couldn’t swim out to save their lives.

President Bush is a better speaker than Obama because he doesn’t use the incessant “you know” inserted every 4 or 5 words when he speaks, which is a generational thing.

Sorry, but to me, when a person speaks publicly, saying “you know” constantly demonstrates VERY POOR language skills and Obama is guilty of that.

President Bush may not be the best speaker in the world, but at least he doesn’t use that ubiquitous filler that my generation is guilty of using.

Also, from watching debates over the years, Obama is NOT as quick off the cuff as President Bush is. For all his malapropisms and mispronunciations, President Bush can answer questions with CONTENT better than Obama can. Obama is so entrenched in the leftwing marxist worldview, that he is often ill equipped to answer difficult questions because his ideology fails to sufficiently address those issues.

Indeed. When President Bush was campaigning for his first term, a (liberal) college student was assigned to follow him around on the campaign trail for a class project. She admitted that she was a Democrat, but did a pretty good job in asking him questions and filming him – especially when they were on the bus traveling around the country. On that film, (which was shown on PBS once and then quickly yanked), we saw a George Bush who was quick, witty, high spirited and jovial. As an introduction to her questioning him about environemental issues, she asked: “If you could be a tree, what kind would you be?” and he shot back instantly, “I’m a Bush, not a tree!” She burst out laughing.

She later commented on how much fun she had with this assignment and how she grew to like this man personally.

I think that her film revealed the true George Bush in full form, but of course since it didn’t align with the media’s agenda, it was never shown again.

I agree. George Bush is a very poor speaker without a teleprompter. It is sometimes embarassing.

Anecdotally speaking, I’ve heard many people say that Bush actually speaks much better off the cuff than he does reading a prepared speech, with few of the mispronunciations and malaprops he’s known for. Quite the opposite of “Dumbo”.

And when you consider that for a lawyer, their tools of the trade are their words, you really do have to wonder about both of the Obamas.

Are there any precedent setting (or otherwise) cases that they have defended that one could review?

Obama makes Carter look good. Who would have thought such a thing possible?

But all humor aside and yes, keep it coming, come early November the laughter is going to stop. This 46 year-old who acts and thinks like he’s 23, will be in charge and every leftist-statist, along with a good number of RINOs, will be rushing to get a piece of the action. Let’s face it: if a DVD were to surface showing Obama and Wright together burning an orphanage, I doubt it would have the slightest impact on his crazed followers. They would simply say it happened a long time ago, he was young and impressionable, so why bring it up at all — unless you’re a racist. Are you?

So the disaster is going to happen. McCain has made that a certainty. The good news is that the disaster will fall on them. They’re going to say it was all Bush’s fault (somehow, someway) but the country won’t buy it. Of course, we’ll have other things to worry about around then. See America in Ashes by Christopher S. Carson, currently featured in frontpagemag.com.

Yeah we’re screwed. Beyond your wildest dreams.

You can’t be serious? There is no way GWB has better speaking ability, word usage or any other public speaking attributes this man (Obama) possesses.

When? In 1999-2000, GWB’s speaking abilities, both teleprompter and debate, were noticeably better then VP AlGore’s robotic and huffy deliveries. (AlGore has ironically improved since.)

From 2001-2004, GWB’s teleprompter skills were noticably diminished, but still received kudos for his off the cuff ability to reach an audience.

From 2004-present, GWB can’t seem to say anything clearly, and quite often, the frustration in his own voice tells me that he realizes this fact.

GWB aside, when Obama reads from a teleprompter, he speaks like he is carefully reading every word, trying to sound like JFK, instead of just speaking normally. I personally find this style annoying.

When Obama speaks off the cuff, his pregnant pauses, ummms, ahhhs, and fumbling for words are simply unbearable. It gives the impression (rightly or wrongly) that he is unprepared for speaking in detail.

Obama’s ability to handle questioning today is far inferior to GWB’s abilities in 1999-2000.

If he were as smart as the MSM would like us to believe he might try a coping strategy, like using masking tape and a sharpie to label his side of the podium with the city and state he’s in. Heck, it works for rockstars.

There are a lot of us who noticed this from day one. At least GWB has sensible answers to questions posed at him. Obambi, notwithstanding all the glowing praises by the media, offers baffling, incoherent phrases.

He can orate, perhaps from memorized, carefully crafted speeches. But he has proven he could not think on his toes and respond to questions thrown at random!

No doubt he is not the man for the job.
