I can't figure out the precise order (some ways are funnier than others) but here are the parts:

Fence sitting,
Fence stradling,
Wide stance,
Going Forward,
Messy End

SDINES you went to all that effort in that long letter to let them off the hook? any idea how lame that is?

frankly it is voters like you who continue to prop up this worthless wreck of a quisling party. thanks for nothing.

yet you are still going to vote for Maverick…

that will show them..

At the time of the letter, yes. If you read the last comment you would notice that my intent is to give a “last chance” so to speak. At no time in history has a lesser of two evils been more relevant. I am not sure, regardless of how disgusted I am with our candidate, if our national security is worth risking to allow Obama in office. Bottom line that is the most important issue bar none. I will see who the man picks as VP. If he is smart he will pick someone like Jindal. My decision still remains fluid.

Wow! It's great to see Bill is still so active in trying to get Republicans to do the right thing. Having known of his activity over years, his postcards are not the result of a tantrum, but likely the result of seeing his hard work often mean nothing.

Thanks for what you have done for us Bill...from Farmington, WI.

I've been scrawling across any and all appeals for well over a year now "I'll continue to contribute and support when this party starts representing ME again" and have told the same to any phone solicitations. And I ALWAYS mail them back in the postage paid envelopes.....I've paid them for years now, let them pay to get my message of dissatisfaction! Funny though, they never seem to get the message, just keep sending me more and more appeals. Do ya suppose they think I'll get a warm, fuzzy moment and change my mind?????? :-D

As a former contributor to Republican causes I am deluged with requests for donations. I have not gone so far as printing up anything fanciful but I do respond with a brief note that I will resume contributing to the Republican party when it nominates a Republican.

This is a response to the last letter/survey the RNC sent me. I have not received another.

Senator McConnell,

Sir, I have sent along this letter with the survey because there obviously is not enough room for me to properly speak to my dissatisfaction with my party and those whom I voted into office. Not to mention my penmanship is lacking. Conservatism is the current barometer for our party this political season and sadly our candidate is not nor has the Republican Party acted with conservative principals. Over spending, refusal to speak plainly about the issues and the lack of effort to actually nominate a true conservative, are all reasons I am refusing to donate to the “cause”. I believe my elected officials should “earn” my trust and then my cash. Do that and then I will lend my support. So what I expect my party to do is very simple.

1.	Go on the offensive against Democratic undermining of the war effort. Their display this week was appalling as was their ignorance when questioning General Petraus. Counter the collective liberal medias agenda against our right to protect ourselves and kill our enemies. Remind your employers, the American people, why we need to defend this nation.
2.	Quit pandering to special interest and corporate lobbyist when it comes to illegal immigration. Stop federal dollars to any state that does not enforce immigration laws as well as punish employers who hire an illegal. You don’t need to build a fence if the magnate is decimated. They will go home. Catch and release? Nope. Catch and deport. McCain says it is impossible to deport all of the illegal aliens. Maybe that’s true. But if we start with some then maybe the rest will understand that our hospitality is not free and one must follow the proper procedures to gain access to this great nation. My in-laws came here legally, so can everyone else.
3.	Not only should tax cuts be made permanent but also the “fair tax” should be made a fixture of our party. I understand this scares many people in power, as it should. After all, when you free the populace from the binds of government, the populace once again controls the government. Earmarks should be eradicated. Good luck with that one as democratic handouts are how they retain office. The pyramid scheme known, as social security should be reformed. I am 38 and it is obvious I will never see a dime of what I pay in.
4.	Conservatives, true conservatives, believe in personal-responsibility and self reliance when it comes to taking care of ones self and their family. We have allowed the liberal agenda to destabilize and subjugate portions of our society all in an effort to maintain power. Remember give a man a fish/teach a man to fish? Well guess what? It’s time many Americans start learning to fish. STOP, bailing out financial institutions with my money. STOP bailing out homeowners who made stupid decisions with my money. STOP the damn spending!
5.	While I am on this rant. Let capitalism work and demand democrats quit trying to socialize our nation. Their ideology fails every time it is tried. Please for God sake don’t let it get so bad we see another misery index. I am not so young I do not remember the Carter years. Gee what great times those were. Universal health care is a big sell this election cycle. Get on the ball and counter it with the realities and cost.
6.	It’s time we start challenging the Global Warming messiahs with fact, not joining them like our current candidate obviously has. We have enough oil and oil shale in our own lands to become free from OPEC. It’s time someone has the balls to act and demand we become independent from foreign oil. Alternative fuels are nice but the reality is we need oil and new refinery capacity plain and simple. Get rid of the red tape and expense oil companies must go through to build infrastructure and extract product. I am not one of these pariahs who decry big oil and their profits. I say good for them! Damn it that’s what our country is, a bastion of capitalism were making money is the idea. Of course we should seek alternative fuel sources but leaving our nation in a precarious position because of environmentalist wacko’s is not what I would call a good idea.
7.	Stop President Bushes attempts to further move us towards a North American Union. Look, I agree with free trade as long as it is fair. I do not believe in globalization nor the attempts by some to have us give away our sovereignty via treaties that would leave us under the oh so corrupt auspices of the United Nations. Our President is a globalist moderate. You and your colleagues should have been challenging him.
8.	It’s time for grass roots support of conservative candidates on the local and state level. We are out here, help us get elected. By taking back local offices from liberals we can better support and build the foundations of conservatism and return this nation to it’s former glory.
9.	Above all you and your colleagues must espouse the conservative agenda and go on the offensive. You must stop the political moderation and call democrats what they are and educate the masses on their desire to socialize our nation. They are socialist and need to be labeled as such.

There are many other issues that need attention as well. Honestly I gave serious consideration to with holding my vote this election cycle. However as much as I am displeased with the candidate I cannot in good conscious allow a liberal to get into office. I will vote republican as I always have. This time. But rests assured, if and when McCain takes office I expect you and your associates to make sure he does as promised, and lead as a conservative. Insist on strict constructionist judges, tax reform, fair trade policies, defense of the second amendment, defense of the unborn and the zealous pursuit of the war on terror and Islamic fascism. Your letter speaks of a generation of democratic leadership should we lose. Should he be a one term President because he failed the conservative base, that will all but be assured.

Regards,
Stephen M. Dines.

I just voted today in the Idaho primary elections for the GOP. I had a choice of the grumpy old man, everyone’s crazy uncle Ron Paul, or uncommitted before going to the write-in line. I went with uncommitted and I hope many of my friends and neighbors did too not that it will matter much to the RINOs leading the GOP into oblivion. No longer will I vote for the lesser of two evils!
