Obama’s uncle: wrong camp
Apparently Obama’s remark about his uncle liberating Auschwitz was just a gaffe, and not a full-on lie. It was actually Obama’s great uncle, and he did not, in fact, liberate Auschwitz, but instead undertook a secret mission to Cambodia.
Seriously, though: here’s the Obamessiah advancing a new legislative initiative to take care of veterans with PTSD. Worthy cause. Probably worth a little research if you’re going to try to sell it.
I ripped Mike Huckabee a new one for publishing an article in Foreign Affairs that attributed a quote from The Godfather to Sun Tzu.
At the time, I surmised that it wouldn’t have been that big a deal had Huck just tossed that off in a stump speech instead of writing it in a major foreign policy magazine. So I’ll extend the same indulgence to Barry O.

Before hearing from the Obama campaign, I gave the candidate four Pinocchios for this howler. I am subtracting one Pinocchio in view of the explanation that Obama confused the two concentration camps and that the underlying story was accurate. Three Pinocchios for “significant factual errors.”

He STILL needs to check the facts before he spews out this kind of information. You would THINK he would, considering he was talking about someone from his own family.

Absolutely amazing how the MSM is giving this guy so many passes on so many gaffes. Bush is bombarded when he makes an error and look what happens to Repubicans who can’t spell. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Obama is a real piece of work. If this was such a big deal in his family, you would think he would have the facts straight and also know his relationship to the guy who went through it.
I knew who my uncles were and which ones served where in WWII. I don’t know my Great Uncles’ names. Get real.

I would call Obama’s gaffe actually a faith promoting rumor. The crowds swoon and genuflect at his words, the facts don’t matter.
This is not just a mistake, it was a story about a great uncle that he made into an uncle, he did it to tell people that soldiers that comeback from war are damaged goods, that they are less than capable. This is a direct hit at John McCain. While it was ostensibly about his non-uncle great uncle (one of those typical white people obviously) it was also talking about how veterans are not stable.
His racist pastor, his racist-elitist wife, his terrorist friends all show the type of person that Obama is. His telling tall tales is a minor incident in the scheme of things. But it is telling nonetheless.
Next up: Another relative who shot down Yamamoto in 1943, or broke the German defense at Omaha Beach, by himself. I’m still waiting for him to state that while Clinton was dodging bullets in Bosnia, he was cleaning the snipers out.
Commie-Obama is so well read, he doesn’t need to do no stinking research — And to prove it, the drive-by media will fix every gaffe he makes. What’s wrong with doing a few rewrites of history, every week?
Is making up family heroics worse than what phoney soldiers do? I think not, they are both trying to serve the same master.

He is a scary person and it’s scary all of the kool-aid drinkers who drink this up. We know the sorry state of education in this country, how many of the under 25 group even knew that the Red Army liberated Auschwitz but even more important how many cared? They’re all in love with the Messiah and it’s pretty obvious they don’t care. Like an hour old diaper on a newborn baby all they want is “change”.
I’m waiting for him to say he had an obscure Uncle on General Washington’s staff at Valley Forge, or on the staff of General Andrew Jackson.
This should wake people up to the fact that Obooboo is the same type of lying politician as everyone else, but i know that will never happen. If a GOP politician had said this he would be all over every news channel. The MSM would have had a field day with it but notice how they are not saying anything about it. Proves the MSM wants Obooboo to win. Does this mean the MSM is the same as Hamas ? Makes you think huh.

Americans should be worried. A co-worker of mine is a BHO delegate to the WA convention and brought literature from some of the barking moonbats wanting to be elected to the national convention. His followers are Zombies. No will of their own.
If obummers statement was before any other group on a different date, I would give him a pass. But to reflect on a family member who served, on Memorial day, to a group that held vets, without taking time to get his story straight, was insulting to those who served proudly, many in their family footsteps “lineage of service”. Again he displays his detachment from society.
Does MM owe Obama an apology? She acknowledged that what she huffed and puffed about yesterday was wrong, but she didn’t apologize.
McCain came back from Baghdad saying it was safe for him to walk the streets. He didn’t even need a bullet proof vest. But video from the trip showed him wearing the vest and protected by a detachment of soldiers and a dozen helicopter gunships. Maybe someone here should get all red in the face over that one.
Someone might comment on Scott McClellen’s new book discussing that famous Bush “restored to the White House” integrity.
Right on, lgm. You nailed the issue on the head. Bush lied, kids died or whatever, so it’s OK if O’Bama’s a featherweight who makes up stuff as he goes, has not even a basic grasp of 20th Century history, think’s there are 57 states in the US and doesn’t understand why Iraqis don’t speak the same language as Afghans. He should be Commander in Chief! I hope that helps his children!

When a liberal tells a whopper, it is done for benevolent purposes, so the fact that the statement is a lie can be sloughed off by claiming it as a mis-statement or a botched joke or “I was tired.”
However when a conservative gets caught telling a doozy…it’s always an evil, wicked, blatant, nefarious, purposeful lie. Conservatives-bad. Liberals-good.

Charles Payne, Obama’s Great Uncle, may not have been in the 89th Infantry Division. In fact he may not have even been in the US Army. Or even Europe in WWII.
Some guy at Ace of Spades found the roster for all soldiers assigned to the 89th Infantry Division and Obama’s Great Uncle isn’t on that list. And looking at the enlistment records for Kanasas has two Charles Payne entering the US Navy.
Could Obama have gotten every single detail wrong? Could Obama have been making it all up in order to play with the crowd?

Obambi trots out his white relatives when it serves his purpose. My father was one of the first to enter Nagasaki after the bomb was dropped but I guess if I was running for president it would sound more dramatic to say he was the first American GI to enter Heroshima (guessing at the spelling) and saved small children from an orphan after the evil US dropped the bomb. This guy is so slick he makes Bill Clinton look like a choir boy and I mean that as no insult to any past and present choir boys.

Obama tossed off a story about his uncle (wrong) at Auschwitz (also wrong) – and the blog world noted that. Obama should apologize. That was really the most egregious error. On Memorial Day, denigrating veterans to promote a political agenda (his version if the new Gi Bill) which he also uses to attack McCain. Beautiful the way he wraps it all up. Except that there were no Fallen Heros” in attendance, no relative of his liberated Buchenwald, and apparently now no relative of his served in the Army in WW II. But I’m still supposed to believe that his uncle/grand uncle hid in the attic for 6 months and that is why we need his GI Bill?
