He’s baaaack: Obama supporter Rev. Michael Pfleger flogs Hillary’s “white entitlement” on the pulpit

I’ve reported before on Obama supporter/spiritual advisor/Jeremiah Wright chum/Farrakhan cheerleader Rev. Michael Pfleger and his racial demagoguery (see March 29 and April 30).
Pfleger, who until recently was featured on the Obama campaign website as a spiritual endorser, was back at Obama’s Trinity United Church this weekend mocking Hillary Clinton’s “white entitlement.” It’s one thing to ridicule Hillary’s sense of political and ideological entitlement as part of the Clinton dynasty. But the demagogic emphasis on her race from this hate preacher on the pulpit is quite another thing. You really have to see his performance to believe it.
Here’s the video that’s getting around. I’ve transcribed it below as well if you can’t stomach the antics:
Pastor Otis Moss: He needs no introduction. He’s a friend of Trinity, he’s a brother beloved. He’s a preacher par excellence. He’s a prophetic, powerful pulpiteer. He is our friend. He is our brother. He is none other than Father Michael Pfleger. (Crowd on its feet, standing ovation, loud applause). We welcome him once again…
…Pfleger: [Unintelligible] to address the one who says, “Well, don’t hold me responsible (gesticulating) for what my ancestors did. But you have enjoyed the benefits of what your ancestors did and unless you are ready to give up the benefits (voice rising), throw away your 401 fund, throw away your trust fund, throw away all the money you put into the company you WALKED INTO BECAUSE YO’ DADDY AND YO’ GRANDDADDY AND YO’ GREATGRANDDADDY–(screaming at the top of his lungs)–UNLESS YOU’RE WILLING TO GIVE UP THE BENEFITS, THEN YOU MUST BE REPSONSIBLE FOR WHAT WAS DONE IN YOUR GENERATION ‘CUZ YOU ARE THE BENEFICIARY OF THIS INSURANCE POLICY! I don’t think the race card should be played against the Senator from Illinois. Just look at the date. 10 days prior to the Democrats’ convention. All Barack needs to do is give another speech on that day in the place where he started his campaign and the media will love him for ever.

If this picks up steam – how long before the left uses the “He’s a white man, so there’s no ‘racism’ in his speech against ‘white entitlement’ argument?
They know they can’t trot out another black preacher to say these words without being condemned for it – so now they found a different color ‘tool’ to spew the exact same garbage.
The Bible speaks to the tickling of ears, particularly in the last days. It would tickle my ears to hear that somebody else caused my problems. Then I wouldn’t have to change any of my ways.
The problems with this argument are too long to list here. You have to pity the people in this congregation who are not getting the truth to change their lives. Without that truth they will continue to hire pastors that tickle their ears and keep them in the paralysis of victimhood.
This guy doesn’t preach the gospel. He preaches hate and division.

I think this just shows how racist liberals are. Seriously – I had always thought it was possible but this really makes it so obvious. And are these the kinds of people I want running the country? Absolutely not.
It’s shameful that this place is even called a “church” at all. This is not the Christianity of the Bible. This is plain racist BS that is hiding behind a church front.
Disgusting – I hope people wake up about Obama. His association with this church is deplorable. And I am sure he believes most of this crud that is spewed from the pulpit.
People don’t go to church and sit in the pews without being able to believe what is being said. My husband and I searched for a long time and went to many churches before finding one that was in line with our beliefs. So I don’t buy anyone’s stance that Obama really didn’t believe anything that was said there. yeah right.
So, how does one go about trying to get Trinity’s tax-exempt status revoked for injecting themselves into a political race?

Growing up in mostly black schools, I am used to the white urban contemporary. I have to say, though, this guy really takes the cake.
He really doesn’t strike me as someone who grew up in urban contemporary culture and developed the accent and attitudes.
In other words, he is putting on a show. When his congregants aren’t around, he probably swills champagne, turns on NPR, and shops online at “The Gap”. (Jonah Goldberg describes this as “Black Panther envy” in his book “Liberal Fascism”.)
Also, please note the cheering, screaming, wailing, and crying in the background. This is not strictly a Trinity church problem, it’s a black liberation theology problem.
If it walks like a duck, squawks like a duck – it’s a duck. Period!!! No futher discussion necessary – Hussein is racist as is his wife. The fact that it doesn’t help their children is of no consequence, however.
The more I watch that clip, the more I think:

My question is: Does Fr. Pfleger’s condemnation of those who inherit wealth apply to all people, or just white people? What about the claim that we all need to be responsible for our ancestor’s actions… does that apply to all regardless of skin color?
And while we are on the subject, I think it is ridiculous to claim the we are responsible for the actions of our ancestors. My great-grandfather did not come to the U.S. until 1915, but even if my ancestor’s had owned slaves, that would not make me responsible for the choices. I can honestly say I have never owned a slave… do I owe “retribution” for the actions of others?

The first thing that strikes me is, “Where is the ‘religion’ in this sermon?” Any reference to the Bible? To Jesus? To God? To the lessons for daily life that can be gleaned from any of those three?
Trinity “Church” sounds very much like a place where hate-filled, self-absorbed, self-pitying people go to be with other hate-filled, self-absorbed, self-pitying people. That is their true “faith.”
But the preacher dude does have one valid point, in the same way that a stopped clock is right twice a day: After eight years spent as the “President-in-Waiting,” Hillary probably does indeed harbor a lot of resentment for the incredibly bad timing of Obama’s decision that he, too, is entitled to the presidency simply because he wants it.
Were it not for him fracturing the identity-politics foundation of the donkey party, she’d already have the nomination wrapped up by now. Eight years of patient, calculating expectation, all down the crapper because of an “uppity” black man who forgot that there’s already been a “First Black President.” That’s gotta smart.
What has this priest done for others besides bellow from the pulpit about how “bad” everyone else is?

I still don’t get how using language like that goes along with a church service. If I am guilty because I am white and I need to give up everything…whoever I give it to isn’t going to get a lot! Since Obama is 1/2 white and was raised by white grandparents is goes to reason that he too “benefited” from slavery and so logically he should give up 1/2. That is going to be a heck of a lot more for him. I say that Obama goes first right after he quits riding in his SUV.

I believe many “bishops’ and “pastors” of these “churches” have no theology degrees whatsoever. I think they start out as just “nice old men” who were deacons at some point (a non-ordained position).
In Louisville, the Ev. Lutheran Church in America made the budding pastor of the mission church in black neighborhood take seminary classes before being ordained. There was a big stink raised over that.

I get entitlement because I’m white? So, it was because of my ancestors that I got to work from the age of 12, enlisted in the military, worked full time at McDonalds while I went to college, took a fairly low paying job out of college and worked my way up the chain in my job?

So off he went at 15, came home settled somewhere far from home (Baldwin County) and never so those folks again. The Irish side came off the boat and had to fight for the Union Army for those who could afford to send some “slug” in their stead (my great-grandfather was able to do this) and others who went to perserve the Union.

Well, the arch-bishop would need to do that. I think the Vatican encourages priests to not be directly involved in politics, but I do know the Church says no to socialism, abortion and gay marriage.
But those are more policy issues, not endorsement of a particular candidate, and involve grave offenses against the virtue of life.
Rev. Pfleger, Wright, Farrakan and the Black Panthers are piggy-backing off of Obama for free publicity and popularity.
While many Protestant Churches will allow anyone and everyone to become a minister, the Catholic faith does significant discernment and psychological analysis before a man can become a priest.
It is thus troubling to see Mr. Pfleger to behave like this, and his concerns about social justice could be expressed better.
This speech was nothing more than an untrue rant, and he now has an obligation to restore Sen. Clinton’s reputation, because I highly doubt she thinks she should get it because she’s white.

I have nice middle class Black folks in my suburban Houston neighborhood. I know, other than the Huxtables from a 1980s TV show, or a cartoonish show like “Fresh Prince”, the media doesn’t depict Black folks as doing ok in America, but many of them are.
A few of them are coming around to realizing that the Democrats aren’t looking out for their best interests, especially if they have jobs and are trying to raise their kids right.
That was kind of why I was wishing ‘Operation Chaos’ (I voted Hillary in the Texas primary, since McCain had already won, I wanted to help prolong the Dem race, and, finally, while Hillary was definetly a Marxist America hater in the 1960s, maybe, just maybe, she mellowed, while B. Hussein Obama clearly is a Marxist America hater to this day) would work, and more Black folks realized the Dems core value is power. (With abortion rights having taken a back seat to Bush hatred as the driving philosophy of the party).

Ed – One of the things that makes me sad about people like Rev. Wright is the disservice they are doing to the black folks who are normal, sane, good people.
