The bloody consequences of illegal alien sanctuary at the White House doorstep
An illegal alien who had been deported twice before was convicted this week of the brutal murder of a restaurant worker who was employed by the popular Old Ebbitt Grill restaurant near the White House. The victim’s skull was crushed after the two-time deportee bashed him in the head repeatedly with a baseball bat. Despite sporadic immigration enforcement efforts elsewhere around the country, the D.C. area remains a sanctuary for thugs like this:
An illegal immigrant who twice had been deported from the United States was convicted Tuesday of the brutal beating death of an employee of a historic restaurant near the White House. A D.C. Superior Court jury found Hernan Melendez, 17, guilty of second-degree murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Melendez, of Honduras, faces more than 50 years in prison but will likely be sentenced to between 13 1/2 years and 29 years under sentencing guidelines.
At about 2 a.m. Jan. 28, 2007, Melendez and two friends got into an argument with Andres Benitez near the Old Ebbitt Grill where Benitez worked as a dishwasher, prosecutors said.
Benitez retrieved a baseball bat and swung at the group, but the three men rushed him to the ground and started kicking him.
As Benitez lay on the ground, Melendez grabbed the bat and hit Benitez as many as 10 times until a bystander tried to break things up, authorities said.
Melendez struck the Good Samaritan in the head and resumed his attack on Benitez, pounding him five more times, authorities said.
Two security guards who witnessed the attack chased Melendez and caught up to him at a nearby apartment building. Melendez still had the bat in his hand, court documents said.
Benitez died at the scene. His skull was crushed.

After initially telling authorities that he was 21, Melendez then asserted that he was 16 and challenged the propriety of being charged with murder as an adult. The challenges were eventually rejected by the court.
But don’t you dare think about criticizing lax immigration enforcement if you happen to be a person of color.

It’s not every person crossing the border is a murderer, but Benitez would be alive if that man never came here and that’s the sad part. Our wages are kept low, yesterday I find out they get workers comp, and now crushed skulls, all in the allure of the illegal.

The big irony is coming down the tracks. When this type of alien invader violence starts occuring on K Street, The Hamptons, Westchester County, Marin County, etc., it will be too late. The political, cultural and media elites will find themselves under assault like the rest of us.

This is just so infuriating! Has anyone ever brought up these types of things directly to McCain or Obama? I want to hear them defend their amnesty policies in the face of horrible events like this.

Our “leaders” are clueless. A more scary thought: they might know exactly what they’re doing. Another great way to destroy the American social fabric for the greater good of the Great Society.

I hate to be a downer, but it’s only going to get worse. Much, much worse. The stark reality, since Jan 1 2005 through Dec 31 2007 667 Americans were killed in Mexico 128 of them murdered or executed. In that same period in Canada 35 have been killed 2 murdered. Yep no difference in values there, nope none at all. Its all about family values dontcha know.

I posted this in another thread, but I thought I would reiterate it.
My 4 step plan to eliminate Illegal Immigration:
1)cut off social services to illegals. They can still get truly emergency medical care, but if they can not provide proof of citizenship then make it mandatory that ICE is called.
2)prosecute companies that hire illegals up to and including incarceration and loss of business license.
3)Prosecute Illegal Immigrants who use stolen identies to obtain employment and/or benefits
4)Bill the foreign nation where the illegal alien came from for the costs of the incareration, medical expenses and deportation cost. To collect on the bill, reduce the foreign aid to that country by the amount of the bill.
If we do these four things there will not be any illegal alien problem.

I’m sure McCain, Obama, Clinton, Bush, Kennedy, etc. have heard about these things, and I am sure it rolls off them like water off a duck’s butt. They and The Spitter are incapable of comprehending why illegal immigration is a problem. Nor do they care about the manifestations of the problem that are popping up everywhere with increasing frequency. I believe they are morally corrupt and perhaps genetically incapable of understanding why it is wrong to facilitate illegal immigration. It may be the same genetic defect that renders them incapable of distinguishing between legal and illegal immigration and causing them to assume that if you are for the rule of law and against illegal immigration you must be either an Uncle Tom or a racist. They will never change their minds…they have to be defeated at the ballot box and by grass roots uprising.

Illegals and many others who take advantage of this mis-interpretation of the 14th amendment, use it to their advantage. “You are breaking up families” etc. They hide behind these anchor babies to slow or halt deportation. The first thing Jose and Juanita do when arriving is work on an anchor baby (h*ll, many come across legally just to have stupid Americans pay for the birth then collect benefits). This is, in my mind, the very first thing that needs to be corrected. And make it retroactive back to 1986 (when last amensty occurred). We ar ethe only 1st nation country left in the world that allows htis ridicuouls policy to occur. And it is abused by many many people from all over the world. I have witnessed it first hand.
I’m reminded of when we petitioned the ciy to put up a traffic light at a dangerous intersection. They surveyed it for years and when the traffic deaths reached a certain percent, they installed the light. The unique virtue of American citizenship is that it is centered around the embrace of core American values and principles. For newcomers, it would include the renunciation of foreign allegiances, and for all Americans it means becoming part of our national community.
I just read on the Drudge Report that Spanish is becoming (or has already become according to the article) the primary language in Miami so much so that people (U.S. citizens born and bred) who don’t speak Spanish are leaving in droves. This is where we’re heading folks. Sooner or later the illegals will get their way, be legalized, millions more will follow and continue taking over our cities and towns, and that will be the end of this country. Canada better watch out. They do have a lot of uninhabited land. I wonder how many of us they could take in?
If increase in spanish doen’t drive citizens out of Miami, the crime rate will. It’s not just Miami. There are other areas where the same thing is happening. When all the legal taxpayers leave, who will pick up the tab for the social programs illegals use? Liberals want to keep the illegals in their districts for job security. Remember, we’re going to have a census in 2010 and these same liberals will want every person counted regardless of status.

Which reminds me - on the gun thread a few days ago I meant to mention that if you have a weapon and the perp heads toward you rather than away, you’re going to have to shoot, otherwise they will use your own weapon against you or your family.
