You said it all. As a Virginian, I’m sorry Warner is not running next time. I was looking forward to voting against him. He’s another reason I’m for term limits.

I believe I read that Finland is close to implementing such a “greenhouse” tax on its farm animals for methane emmissions.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see a similar tax proposed in some state here before long.

One group is already calling for a meat based tax and of course a push to convert us all to becaome vegans.

Not surprisingly, I also just read of some eco-scientist proposing we substitute insects for less “environmentally sustainable” meat producing animals in our diets.

(a) In General- Taking into account the report prepared under section 3702(a), the Secretary of Agriculture shall establish, by regulation, a program under which agricultural and forestry allowances may be distributed to entities that carry out projects on agricultural and forest land that achieve real, verifiable, additional, permanent, and enforceable greenhouse gas emission mitigation benefits.

(b) Nitrous Oxide and Methane- The Secretary of Agriculture shall ensure that, during any 5-year period, the average annual percentage of the quantity of remainder emission allowances that is distributed to entities under the program established under subsection (a) specifically for achieving real, verifiable, additional, permanent, and enforceable reductions in nitrous oxide emissions through soil management or achieving real, verifiable, additional, permanent, and enforceable reductions in methane emissions through enteric fermentation and manure management shall be 0.5 percent.
(c) Requirement- The Secretary of Agriculture shall distribute emission allowances under this section in a manner that maximizes the avoidance or reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

I heard on the news yesterday that scientists are saying that eating bugs are good for the environment and good for us. Next thing you’ll hear is there is a drastic shortage of insects, and they’ll be on the endangered species list. It really hurts the brain to think liberal.
