A public school field trip…to the local illegal alien day labor center
What’s next? Assemblies with fake ID manufacturers? Gym classes with coyotes?
Darleen Click points to this L.A. Daily News report on a 4th-grade public school field trip to a local illegal alien day labor site:
It wasn’t your typical field trip that Danielle Quinto took her fourth-grade class at Our Community School in North Hills on last week.
Her 25 students – all from lower- to middle-class working families – didn’t go to the Los Angeles Zoo or Travel Town.
Instead, they went to see men whom they said scared them, men they thought were dangerous and stole things.
Quinto took her class of 9-year-old children on a field trip to a city-funded, day-labor work site in North Hollywood near a Home Depot.
“It was a little weird taking the kids on a field trip like this, but it turned out to be a teacher’s dream,” the young, charter school teacher said Monday.
After the children returned to the classroom, the teacher put them right to work…as little, pro-illegal immigration lobbyists:
“It was cool talking to them, not scary,” the 9-year-old said. “We all left wanting to tell their story to other kids so we can help them.”
And that’s Part 2 of Danielle Quinto’s magical field trip.
When they got back to school, the kids began working on a news release they sent to every media outlet in Los Angeles.
It asked for help getting the message out about learning about people before judging them.
The kids also want to raise some money to help the day laborers improve their job-site center and buy the tools they need to do their jobs as masons, painters, carpenters, landscapers and a host of other manual labor jobs.
It’s California tax dollars at work twice over–funding illegal alien labor and open-borders indoctrination in the public schools.

I wonder how this teacher will approach teaching children about law and law enforcement. Do laws means anything at all to these people? Are they going to teach these kids it’s ok to pick and choose which laws they want to obey?
Moron teacher, over paid and out of touch.
Activist judges and activist teachers – what’s the diff? They’re both denigrating America one fool-hearted action at a time!
I assume the kids have to have some kind of parental permission slip signed to go on the field trip…wonder how that was worded?
There are so many well trained and well educated individuals out there who wished to be teachers years ago and now can’t enter into said profession unless one takes several “socialization themed” classes to be licensed. More’s the pity because you have this nimrod teaching instead.
I said it before, I’ll say it again – they will not get their mitts on my kids.
Hard to stop the rot stemming from the White House: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=42048
Somewhere in here is a felony, the students are minors after all… any lawyers care to spin?
Instead of blankets, they need to be supplying the officers with bullets for their guns.
Close the border, for the love of fate, and lets get these illegal pieces of trash out of our country.
Curious – The money this diluted teacher wants to raise – will any of it go to provide health insurance so the illegals won’t milk our emergency rooms. Aren’t day laborers more likely to get hurt and need our “free” medical care?
How about the next trip be to the county jail and victim center so they can meet the OTHER Illegals and the victims of their crimes? Show the kids that their first impressions worked.
I highly recommend visiting the school website. When you read what specifiis being taught in each class you will be shocked beyond belief
Katycue – I was wondering about that. I would not have signed a permission slip for that trip!
Not to sound like a repeating bird, but people wonder why there is a flood of demand for private and home schooled education for their children. I think the 100′s of examples MM and SD provide are more than ample reasons to avoid public education like the plague.
How about taking these kids to an unemployment center where American workers have been displaced by illegals. Might just give them another side to the story that isn’t so PC.
Katycue #4
You’d be shocked and disgusted at what the public schools try to do w/out parent’s knowledge or permission!
MM’s recent article on Friendswood, TX having an assembly on Muslim beliefs w/out notification to parents!
(Still waiting on the Christian assembly.)
Used to be, the stereotype was that if you couldn’t make it in the real world, you ended up a lifer in the military. Today, it’s all to true. Except for the profession. If you would be an abysmal failure trying to make a living anywhere else, go into “education”.
What I learned in school:
I learned this is a nation of laws.
I learned if I did not break the laws I did not have to worry.
I learned that those who broke the law would be punished.
I this increasingly liberal
utopianightmare I learned:We reward those who break the law.
We reward those who make poor personal decisions.
We punish those who strive and work diligently to succeed.
And I am the one that lacks education? Gotta love illegal federalist
educationindoctrination huh. Herr Goebbels and Komrade Stalin would both be proud and Chairman Mao would simply be awed at what we have accomplished without firing a shot. (At least until it is time to line the useful idiots up against the wall once they achieve their dream society)From the school’s website:
Schaffly has a great article on why you cant combine open immigration with the welfare state. They become a complete drain on society. Democrat solution: Increase the size and scope of the welfare state. No doubt McCain agrees with them.
Sorry, here is the website’s section on classroom activities.
Anyone care to bet the word illegal never came up?
This would never be tolerated in school districts populated mainly by legal Americans who support the rule of law. This teacher will get away with it, because her district is infused with illegals and their descendants and creepy Americans who don’t understand why the rule of law is so important.
Wow…wrong approach, but the teacher has the right idea. Too bad she’s on the wrong side of the fence. I’d take my class on such a field trip, and explain this to them: this is what happens to you if you don’t hit the books. Why compete with a large number of your closest idiots ERRRRR friends for a schlumpy, low-paying job? Get the upper hand instead, and get a good education. Of course, that’s entirely up to you, class! You get out of something what you put into it. If these fiiine folks are shining examples of what the Mexican school system produces, then you *might* strive to do better. *out*
See children? Obeying the law is for hate filled republicans only. We progressives can ignore any law we want. (10 years later from the same teacher) I have no idea why billy turned out to be a serial rapist. It must be the republicans fault some how.
Shut Up. I’m not quite sure what to say about it. Perhaps they can raise money to buy a car for the tooth fairy, so she doesn’t have to fly around all the time.
Bogtrotter
I did as you recommended, and you were right. These children are not being taught the skills to live in the real world, they are being indoctrinated into a world that the far-left liberals envision.
twofoot,
I absolutely believe those who can’t make it in the real world become teachers. The people who have art history degrees get out into the real world and shockingly discover after a year of unemployment their art history degree qualify them for a job as a waiter.
This not used to be the case. People actually became teachers because they cared. Anymore, people become teachers because that’s all they’re qualified for…scary, huh? 22 year old “certified” teachers teaching 18 years olds can not be a good prescription.
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed.. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table…everywhere.
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud: They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore.
I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be…quite, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now lets see…our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be a automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services. Small apartments are housing 5 families. You have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor. Your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box. I have to press “one” to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than “Old Glory” are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder.
This is good news! Sorry you take our money and there will be conditions. MM reported on this not to long ago.
MEXICO CITY – The Mexican government warned Monday it would not accept conditions the U.S. Congress has imposed on an aid package to combat drug trafficking.
The Merida Initiative would provide US$1.4 billion over several years to help Mexico, Central America, the Dominican Republic and Haiti combat drug trafficking. But the U.S. House and Senate have imposed several conditions on the aid, including guarantees of civilian investigations into human rights abuses by the Mexican military.
Interior Secretary Juan Camilo Mourino said the conditions were “counterproductive and profoundly contrary to the object and spirit” of the initiative announced by U.S. and Mexican officials last year.
“The initiatives approved by both chambers of the U.S. Congress incorporate some aspects that, in their current versions, are unacceptable for our country,” Mourino said.
He said Mexico would wait for a final version of the bill before deciding whether to accept the aid.
The House and Senate approved different amounts for the first installment of the aid, and the two versions must be reconciled. Both bills fell well short of the US$500 million sought by the Bush Administration.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon has earned strong support from Washington for his crackdown against drug cartels, carried out by more than 25,000 troops nationwide.
But violence has surged as cartels fight back with increasingly brazen attacks against security forces. Last week, a senior police officer appealed for more powerful weapons after seven federal officers were killed in a shootout with members of the Sinaloa cartel.
I’d like to see video of the nine year-old’s comments. I call B.S. I have a nine year-old who’s at the top of her class, in “challenge” which is the “smart kids” group in her school–and no way does she or any of the other kids say something like this kid:
Kids that age don’t speak like that.
The best I see is my daughter praying at night time for “those who don’t have homes and who need help.”
At any rate, this is LAUSD. It’s a friggin’ money pit. The per capita spending on kids is astronomical and the ROI is fecal. The teachers who are crappy just get shuffled to another low-performing school where they toil out their career into oblivion–and STRS-funded pension for life.
And they vote overwhelmingly liberal. Connect the dots.
Not in New York. People became teachers because that’s all they could train for in state funded schools. Then they’d use their teaching jobs to fund their advanced degrees to become lawyers, etc. Could be different now. I came up through the system a long time ago.
And how many of the kids saw their fathers there?
That’s the third tax, not just taking all the kids in the class to a day laborer site funded by the government and then writing about it back in the class room. Its the millions of illegal kids that should be educated in other countries that are completely over burdening the American education system.
You’ve posted this anecdote before. Do you often find yourself quoting yourself?
Boy this makes sense to me!!! It has worked for THE GORICAL, and his GLOBAL WARMING NUTS. Indoctrinate the little ones and they will deliver the ADULTS… So you see, they have lost their BATTLE to the ADULT populace, by as much as 75%. BRAINWASH the children so THEY can guarantee sympathy in the FUTURE…
The need to get rid of the political class ought to be obvious. We need term limits and new people to run the country. This current bunch is so disconnected from the day to day reality of just living in America that they can’t govern as Americans.
Yipes. Have you checked out the faculty bios on this school’s website?
This one’s interesting…..
“Hilary’s 2nd Grade:
An in depth study of the diversity of family will be covered this year in Hilary’s 2nd grade classroom. The students will explore the many ways we live together as a family, how family can be defined as people who come together to love and care for one another, and the way in which families nurture and support each other throughout time and through generations.”
$50.00 says it includes material on non-traditional families – gay / lesbian, etc…
Nicely worded though, wouldn’t you say?
Poor pitiful illegals.
Want to brainwash kids so their future will be a happy one knowing they are helping those in need. It is good to help others break the law, according the the public school systems.
Betcha it was a hispanic teacher.
Only a moron would promote such crap.
Just great. Now what happens if one of those kids happens to one day talk to one of these guys on their own because they are no longer “scary” and he turns out to be a child molestor? He is illegal. He can easily melt away into obscurity or back to Mexico. Fear is good for kids. It keeps them alive. Let them be afraid until they are old enough to take care of themselves.
I’m sure the parents do not appreciate this teacher contradicting their teaching about talking to strangers. Yes, some strangers are scary, and kids should stay away from all of them.
If any of them get hurt as a result of their newfound “empathy” it will be Quinto’s fault.
MAD AS HELL IN SOCAL!!!
The teacher should be fired now.

Once again, our gov’t using our tax $ to destroy the nation. What possible good could come from this fiasco? She should be fired for injecting her own politics and views into the classroom. As a poster on anohter site used to say, “those who support illegal immigration are either exploiting it or profitting from it”. This teacher obviously supports illegal immigraiont b/c they are primarily hispanic like her. Therefore, she put ethnicity above country and all else. In other words, she is a racist. And she teaches our children. What a country.
Well I guess then they need to start chasing BUSH, Congress and all their cronies cuz they are the biggest crooks we have here in this country!
CHILD ABUSE.
Sure many illegal aliens may be nice and friendly, BUT they are breaking federal law – they are criminals, every last one of them.
I don’t suppose teacher mentioned that though did she?
To think I actually considered going into the “troops-to-teachers” program when I retired from the Air Force. Good thing I didn’t I have a strong feeling I wouldn’t fit in with the folks in academia. I believe in attaining quantifiable results and would judge myself on the ability of my students to understand and apply what is taught not feel good political indoctrination. As we used to say when I was flying those that can do, those that can’t teach, and those that can’t teach evaluate. Thank God I only made it to Instructor Boom Operator.
When I was in 4th grade (1976) we went to Washington-on-the-Brazos, where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. (Our school’s best field trip though was to the Blue Blue Creamery in Brenham, Texas).
Quite a change in the past 30 years . . .
Wonder if the teacher bothered to present the following illegal alien related facts to her students when they returned to school?
1. Hospitals … Hundreds going bankrupt and closing due to millions of illegal aliens getting tax-payer supported free medical services
2. Education … Schools scrambling for funds to get good teachers because of millions of illegal aliens children getting tax-payer
supported free educations.
3. Gasoline … Shortages causing higher prices because of millions of illegal aliens vehicles on the road, most of which are old junkers, increasing the demand for gasoline and resulting in higher prices.
4. Insurance … Higher premiums because of millions of illegal aliens uninsured vehicles on the road resulting in rate increases to cover “uninsured motorist” accidents.
5. Deaths … The government estimates that an average of 50-75 deaths occur each day because of millions of illegal aliens activities in this country ranging from drunk driving to murder and everything in between. That’s more each year than all the deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq combined for the entire tiem we have been there.
I could list more but these are just a few of the things people are not realizing are impacted by the illegal invasion.
I am sure the kids were not given any “negative” facts about the ramifications of the illegals being here.
tiem=time … finger check
Only in Cahl-ee-forn-eyah. Thanks Ahnald………………
This is one of the most inappropriate things I’ve ever heard as a reason for a field trip… let’s teach empathy for the poor illegal criminals by visiting them at their day labor centers. Gee, what happened to Math, Writing, and the other essentials necessary to become a productive American citizen?
As a former teacher myself who is interested in gaining elementary certification, even I know that this isn’t a good enough rationale for a field trip. Children go on field trips to learn about new things, not face their fears. When will the self rationalization and adulation end and reality filter in?
This is yet another example why public schools are failing our kids and why many teachers aren’t being taken seriously and people are examining other ways of educating their kids. This story is an affront to all the parents and teachers who think education should be about learning and preparation for life outside the schoolroom, not guilt trips.
I am saddened, sickened, angered that there are teachers who neither want to teach or treat education with the scholarly approach it deserves.
Awwww. This reminds me of a story I read where little Mexican schoolchildren were fielded to the southern Mexico border to see and pet all of the illegal immigrants from Central America….just before they were shot at, beaten up, jailed for ransom and trucked back to their neighboring lands.
Getting into America is the easy part. Getting into Mexico to get into America is the hard part.
malkin fan,
repeat that story as many times as necessary…… needs to be repeated until people understand the penalties for this mess called illegal invasion, I mean immigration.
Apparently you don’t have any experience with good teachers who care about children and work as hard as they can every day.
You hear the bad, it fits your stereotype of public school, and you don’t care to see any other perspective.
There are some of us who are tired of just handing things over to liberals, and we’re fighting to keep our schools.
This story clearly contains fiction. It is not possible to find a class of 4th graders in Los Angeles that doen not have illegal aliens as students. In california, 49% of the children attending school have 1 or more illegal aliens as parents. In LA, the percentage is ‘somewhat’ higher.
I wonder what kind of Kool-Aid the California GOP was drinking when they decided to “outreach” to liberal and moderate voters (read: policies)?
What do you exspect from a school that has the following program:
Reviewing the schools website I notice nothing there about teaching English or math, so just another school that is going to be turning out students that will not be going to college in the future.
homeschool
The government response is a given. In DC they started calling gangs ‘crew’, thereby eradicating the gang problem. The fact that they now have a crew problem is a whole separate issue, and they will spend millions of dollars and several years deciding how to tackle it. Similarly, illegal aliens will no longer be a problem, because soon they will not be illegal. Same logic. Same stupid a55holes calling the shots.
I seem to remember in school when my teachers had degrees in something other than “education”. My math teacher had a degree in math. My Spanish teacher actually had a degree in English, but only because she was born and raised in Chile and could already speak Spanish (sidenote; after traveling to the other side of the world and back, she is still among the most stunning women I have ever laid eyes on).
Yea hooligan, I remember teachers caring. One cared so much she cut me down to size in front of the whole class. Told me I was to smart to be so lazy at my classwork. Used the whole embarrassment tactic on me in front of my fellow classmates. Imaging a teacher berating a kid today, especially in front of the other kids.
These days? Hey kids, instead of learning that math is the language of the universe, the one true constant, we are going to learn how illegal invaders are not really frightening once you spend time with them in a controlled environment.
What exactly is required to be a teacher today?
My vote for Mother Of The Year is right here. She did it all for her kids. And to be away from the homeland makes it all the more “touching”. It’s got to be tough to be a single mother of 8 at age 35. May the Mexican Drug Cartel and the ACLU come to her rescue!
sarc/
The CRP is the old Dem party.
My fellow Californians-would you please go to the polls and vote:
Yes on 98 !
It’s at least a start in the reformation of this great state.
PS Do you all see why I homeschooled?
“Gee Ms. Quinto, next week can we vist those nice MS-13 members. Can we?”
This pitiful excuse of a teacher should be fired, along with the principal who ok’d this very dangerous trip.
Also, don’t parents have to sign permission slips anymore?
I’m sorry, but this is inexcusable. Political activism and brainwashing disgused as a “field trip”???
No. And no.
another reason to homeschool…
Yes, these low paying manual labor jobs Americans won’t do. /sarc off
Bull, My child would’nt have made it past the permission slip where are the outraged parents, oh, I forgot this is the left coast we are talking about.
I had a mentor tell me “those who can, do, those who can’t, teach, and those who can’t teach run for congress.”
So what’s on tap for next year? A field trip to San Quentin to develop pity for incarcerated law breakers? Or maybe a visit with Charlie Manson to hear about how he was only trying to do what was best for his “family”? sarc/
Sorry to change the subject but.why doesn’t Michelle go on Fox News any more.like O’Reilly.
It seems Michelle and the commenters on here are unable to learn the lesson that the kids grasped so quickly.
The point of the field trip was to show that while these people might be breaking the law in terms of documentation, they are not necessarily law-breakers in other areas of their life. In fact, given that they are actively seeking hard and low-paid work, they embody many desirable qualities of citizenship.
The anger on this blog is frightening, frankly. It seems you people would benefit from being taught the same lesson as the kids – “learning about people before judging them.”
Any bets that the kids were able to speak the illegals’ language?
I couldn’t read through the comments yet; my blood pressure was too high simply from reading Michelle’s piece.
I know it’s too much to ask that children be presented with a clear view of reality, you know that those poor men are breaking the law and that they’re stealing social services that mommy and daddy pay for.
I imagine those kids would be writing far different letters if they’d heard “Sorry, Junior, no new X-Box games because our taxes went up to pay for a few more illegals!”
And we wonder why so many people want Obama. Free stuff, yes! Don’t listen to those adults who tell you that nothin’ comes for free; they’re just unenlightened, racist old foggies.
Grrrr. Even my kids understand that NOTHING is free and that with great opporutnity comes great responsibility.
Then again, we homeschool.
Wonder if the teacher told the students…” we don’t need no steeenking laws”
This is propaganda 101 pure and simple. These kids should be spending their time in the classroom learning history. They would then know what brainwashing means. Shame on the parents who signed the permission slips. Shame on the school board that hired the teacher, and authorized the field trip.
I commend all those of you who home school.
I am at college. Although my major is finance, more than 65% of the coursework for the degree is liberal arts completely unrelated to my major, and an additional three semesters of a foreign language – in my case, Spanish (the only other options were Chinese or French). Of the liberal arts requirements, there are NO psychology classes – one of the few liberal subjects that might actually help students when dealing with people in their future careers. You can only take psychology as one of the couple of electives allowed. I wont even go into what the required liberal arts subjects are – primarily philosophical and political science centered around Marxism. Nothing on American history whatsoever, or democracy. English was centered on African diaspora and African-American writers, of course. Oh, and one Spanish poet. Zero American or English writers, not even a mention of Shakespeare. This is how your kids are being educated.
Marries101, you are just smart enough to be led around by the nose. Congratulations, you are now officially a 4th grader.
Enjoy your field trips!
marries101, you’re brave…I’ll give you that. Don’t expect reasoned or courteous responses from the folks around here though. I think you’re being a bit naive on this issue, but then again, I’m not as angry and prone to emotional outbursts as most on this site. Good luck, if you choose to carry on a “discussion” on this one.
The problem is that instead of showing those hapless kids that laws are important, she taught them that it’s okay to break our society’s laws as long as you’re “actively seeking work” and “embody many desirable qualities for citizenship.”
For a society to be successful, there have to be laws that govern that society and everyone has to agree to obey those laws. When laws begin to be dismissed, where are you? Pretty soon it’s okay to pick and choose. Steal? Sure, if you’re a little short on cash this month. Cheat? Why not, because you know, you might be having a bad day and it really isn’t hurting anyone else. Lie? Everyone does it and it keeps you out of trouble.
Actions have consequences. When illegals cross our borders, the consequences are more crime and higher taxes for Americans.
My family is full of first-generation LEGAL immigrants. It frustrates me to watch what they’ve gone through to obey the law, then watch millions of others who had no respect for that law benefit from my tax dollars.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, this is exactly why more conservatives who actually believe in the rule of law, capitalism, and that America is the greatest country in the world need to become teachers. Thank goodness for the “Troops to Teachers” programs which help veterans, who as a group are overwhelmingly conservative, get certified to teach. And baby boomer teachers are retiring in droves! Come on conservatives, take back the schools; don’t surrender! These children are our future!
I saw this in my local newspaper, and it’s another example of the stupidity some of these liberal teachers are doing in the attempt to indoctrinate our kids: http://www.svherald.com/articles/2008/05/25/opinion/letters_to_editor/doc4839087c7677f797298889.txt
But, HappyMom proves me wrong…nice! Good post…hard to argue with anything you say.
huh, and my 3rd grader just went to a pumpkin farm in the fall and to see “Seussical the Musical” in the spring. What a ripoff!
/sarc off
“The point of the field trip was to show that while these people might be breaking the law in terms of documentation, they are not necessarily law-breakers in other areas of their life”
HAHAHA Maries101.. and a thief isn’t necessarily a rapist either, so I guess that makes thieving ok?
This is one of the 100 million reasons my kids have NEVER spent a day in a public school.
If they pulled this off without a parental consent form then they can and should be sued until it hurts.
Yes we can say while a Bank Robber (insert any crime you want here) is breaking the law robbing a bank, they are not necessarily law-breakers in other areas of their life.
See how stupid and ridiculous this logic and argument is? This is the wrong life lesson to teach kids, that you can break the law doing something, but if you do everything else lawfully then it is ok to commit that crime.
That is the concept you can seem to get that was taught to these kids.

Bulldogger
Thanks for adding some of the numbers to support parts of my post #49 …
Two weeks ago my dad was in a car accident after being t-boned by a car that ran a red light. It was a truck full of Mexicans and the driver had no license and no insurance.
Take the children on a filed trip to a rape crisis center – “These are the women who said “no” to an illegal alien”.
Watch the reaction when one of the children sees their mother and screams “Mommy!!”
I wish this was sarcasm.
Well, those statistics are encouraging. I was concerned that illegals were getting lost in shadows and wouldn’t make an impact on this great nation. No need to worry about that any longer. Impact noted.
Boomer55,
The explanation can be found by going to the archives and looking under the section entitled “Geraldo Rivera”. Click on the article “Stiiill going.”
You can still catch her on various Fox News shows save O’Reilly.
So that’s why my darn property taxes are back breaking. Someone’s gotta educate all those anchor babies. Good post.
maries101, open your eyes to what these invaders (that is what they are regardless of hte euphamism name you want to give them) are doing to this country. I am not better off for them coming. Sure I can get my lawn cut and house cleaned cheaper, but to what expense? My taxes are through the roof. Emergency rooms are packed with illegals who don’t pay the bill (I the stupid taxpayer does). Crime is rampant in neighborhoods filled with illegals. Insurance cost more etc. Frankly, I don’t care why they are here and what pittance they add to the economy overall. Not my problem. BTW, there are many many more people in the world that are much worse off than the invaders coming here. Should we just let all of them in too? We are being taken for suckers and morons like you encourage it. Eventually, it will turn this country into a 3rd world sh*thole. Time to take down the “birdfeeder” and the welcome mat.
I have a question for all of you. There is this man on a local blog here in my town that attacks me everytime I put up numbers of how illegal aliens are hurting “Americans here in the United States”. He tells me that they are here LEGALLY because anyone born on North American soil is considered an American. I told him that I’m sure that MOST Mexicans in Mexico don’t consider themselves Americans and ALL of Canadians in Canada don’t consider themselves Americans. This country had different laws then Mexico and Canada and we are a totally different country. This is just his hard core way of liberal thinking. What would any of you say to this nutbag that thinks that EVERYONE from North America and South America are Americans?
Another thing, I understand he is a typical troll, but I just want to put him in his place and everything I say isn’t good enough.
Thanks for that information Bulldogger. Libs never think about the article I linked in #63. They’ll claim “it doesn’t mention her legal status” as an argument. Sad truth is the papers locally have the don’t ask don’t tell policy when it comes to legal status. Single mother of 8 at age 35 with the oldest being 18 years old. And we’re paying for her and her kids. While she sells drugs.
That he’s a blooming idiot? That’s the first thought that came to my mind!
I wanted to respond to you personally, and to at least shed some light on a subject matter that others here may also agree with in regards to my assessment. Take this with a grain of salt, but also in the calm tone in which its presented and should be received.
It was wrong to take the students on this field trip, not because of its location, but because it was done with (and i believe, obviously) an agenda. Showing that “well, illegals are people too” is an attempt to desensitize children to the problem at hand, and besides, who can argue with a child when they are being kind or helping someone?
But the discussion, and this issue, is deeper than just this one instance. You admitted the following:
The point of the field trip was to show that while these people might be breaking the law in terms of documentation, they are not necessarily law-breakers in other areas of their life.
But therein lies the problem, my friend. We dont know who these people are, or where they are from. They’ve broken the law by being here to begin with…what makes you think that they aren’t criminals from their places of origin? Even if we take a completely innocent view and just assume they’re here to work, they still are guilty of breaking the law. This teacher should be calling law enforcement to have them arrested, not their bus driver to take them there and have a good time.
This incident just highlights, on a few levels, the abject frustration of hard working, honest and law abiding -citizens- that have to deal with others giving comfort and assistance (or at the very least turning a blind eye) to people who are here illegally. These folks, regardless of why they are here, are doing all sorts of things that detract from our lives here, including:
1. Jobs from people legitimately looking for work here. When people throw the “its jobs americans wont do” argument up, they forget an important truth. Its jobs that Americans wont do for the amount of pay illegals are willing to accept. Can any of us honestly say that, outside of complete desperation, you would work in a field picking vegetables for 2 dollars an hour? Of course not. If the wage was fair, and on point with similar industries, then americans would do the work without complaint. But illegal aliens are willing to work for a much lower wage, simply because they get to keep every penny of it anyway.
2. Making money here, but living in sometimes squalid conditions, to send a majority of their money back to their family in their home country (which means its not staying in OUR economy or helping businesses and people here at home)
3. Utilizing services such as medical and education resources that could otherwise be used for legal residents, during a time where our economy doesn’t need people freeloading or not doing their part to pay for these social programs. It’s estimated that over 1 Billion dollars are sent south of the border every year. Think of what can be accomplished with that money not being bled out to another country.
4. Bringing their crime across our borders, and transplanting their cultures here in lieu of becoming American. I draw a distinction here…people immigrate legally here from all over the world, and bring their cultures with them. But they also become citizens, and intergrate into our society. They learn our language, and become part of the collective culture that is uniquely “American”.
Those of us, who at times get incredibly spirited about this debate, look at the issue in total. Yes, this teacher should be reprimanded for her actions. She did something that was, by and large, a political statement on her part and a way for her to indoctrinate children to her way of thinking. This issue is larger than Quinto’s blunder, but it does demonstrate that there are forces at work attempting to justify, and humanize, an issue that is purely and blatantly at odds with the laws of our land and the will of its people.
I am all for legal, proper immigration. I am absolutely for people who want to come here and earn a better life, who want to escape oppression, and for those who simply want to live and *earn* the American Dream. And there are people who have been in this process for years, who are being pushed to the rear of the line. And they are being pushed by those who are breaking in line ahead, whose votes are being pandered for by liberal elitist, and who simply are here for the free ride the democrats are willing to offer to anyone foolish enough to accept their ideology.
It’s really that simple.
As far as the men at the day labor camp…I don’t know them. They could be anyone. They could be people who have stolen social security numbers, or worse, or they could be completely harmless.
But the point we’re trying to make is that regardless if the man at the station there was named Pedro, or Bob…they are still here, breaking our laws and taking advantage of our generous(if not foolish) natures.
And some of us are tired of others taking advantage of our laws, our services, and our (again, and often) overly generous nature.
My 2 cents.
In this case, i’m happy to prove you wrong, sir.
It is an emotional issue. And people, myself included, can get hot under the collar over this. People can get especially angry when others make excuses, or seek to actually justify this illegal behavior.
But again, glad to disappoint
Yes, we need more latino gang bangers. I should feel sorry for them? Kiss my arse. It’s time we take our streets and our cities back from this cancer.
