Where is the purported Michelle Obama “whitey” video?
Many readers are wondering why I have not written a single word about the rumored Michelle Obama “whitey” video.
Simple: Larry Johnson, the main source of the rumors, is not, not, not to be trusted.
Moreover: The story keeps changing.
First, the rumor-mongers claimed, Obama appeared on tape with Louis Farrakhan. Now, the rumor is that the tape comes from this event where she appeared with Mrs. Farrakhan at a Rainbow/PUSH conference in 2004 (via reader Bill):
First, the rumor-mongers claimed, she said “whitey” on the tape. Now, the rumor is that she’s saying “why’d he” (referring to George Bush).
First, the rumor-mongers claimed, the “bombshell” would be released on Monday. Then it was yesterday. Now, it’s tomorrow.
So, where’s the stupid tape? Maybe The Spitter should check Al Capone’s vault again:
All sorts of buffoons are hyping the story, the effect of which will be to undermine all legitimate criticism of Michelle Obama.
To all of you who keep bugging me about this subject, please stop sending me e-mail. Until and unless anyone actually produces a video, I’m not going to mention it again.

Good on you Michelle. You show more journalistic integrity than any of the other so-called MSM outlets who will run with any story that supports their agenda. Facts be damned.
I have heard the rumors too, but I refuse to believe any of the hype until said tape is produced, authenticated, and aired for the general public’s consumption. As much as I detest the Obama’s and their questionable associations if this tape really existed there are some political rivals that would have had this in the MSM spotlight as soon as it was discovered.
This whole election season has been like a cheesy ’80s teen flick about high school student council elections.
Let’s see, we have the “athlete” (Arnold), the “basket case” (quite a few of those), the “princess” (tough call: Hillary or Mrs. O?), and the “criminal” (need I elaborate?). All we’re missing is the “brain.”
Is this a last ditch effort by a Hillary supporter? One has to wonder.

As much as I can’t stand her, I’m sure it was “why’d he” and not “whitey”, if the tape even exists. Look at how song lyrics are misheard all of the time (my favorite being U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday turned into “Someday, Buddy, Someday”).
What really should be questioned in this instance is her association with Farrakhan.
And you and Ed Morrissey may indeed be correct. The only reason I give any credence to the possibility that this tape might exist is that it certainly fits with the other things coming out of Michelle’s mouth.
Right something that politically explosive must have sterling truth behind it.

I don’t see any particular reason for holding back. Over the years, the Dems have made up all kinds of stories and then forced the Repubs to prove a negative. (Look at Rather as an example of an out of control journalist who tried to cost Bush the election in 2004. In the end he was forced out but his impact was substantive. He was willing to try any smear to succeed.)
Put it out and see what actually happens. See if the Dems can prove a negative.

I, too, doubt that such a tape exists.
What I do find interesting, however, is the rumor that this tape will only be released if Hillary concedes the election. No sooner did that rumor “break” and suddenly we started getting mixed messages from the Clinton camp over whether Hillary was dropping out of the race. It made me wonder whether Hillary herself believes that a tape does exist, and if this is her ploy to get the tape released (while leaving her hands “clean”.)
To wit: Hillary and her backers make it seem as if she’s dropping out of the race without her actually coming out and conceding. Then when the tape’s released, Hillary does a one-eighty and plausibly (in Clintonista terms) states, “Oh, I never dropped out of the race. What gave you that impression?” Then she redoubles her efforts for the nomination, buoyed by the scandal the tape’s release would generate.

I was about to send you an email regarding Michelle Obama’s shopping list which I have in my possession. On it – in her own handwriting – is the word “crackers”. If that doesn’t prove she’s a racist, what does?

A friend of mine was telling the Bob Beckel was talking about something big that some of his “very credible sources” have told him about that was about to come out but would not say on Fox what it was, in case it didn’t get brought out.
Does anyone have any idea what Beckel might have been talking about? Do you think this hype is that to which Beckel may have been alluding?

There might not be a tape yet, but one can dream, can’t they? My opinion is that it is “fake but accurate.” The only reason there is not video of MO’s anti-whitey tirade is because she, unlike that chump phleger, made sure that the video was off BEFORE she spoke. Prove me wrong.
Well, what if there is an anti-white tape featuring M.O.? Big deal. Who would possibly care? Now, if she were to be caught on tape saying, “Gonna tear you a new one, hunky mutha’,” that might be interesting. But it would still change nothing.

By doing this, as other astute posters have written, every true crazy-hater lady stories about her will be muted.
It’s like the Drudge story on Kerry’s alledged affair.
Nothing against Drudge per se, but there are so many in the press and that includes bloggers, that will go crazy if they think they have a scoop.
What they actually have is carefully hand fed disinformation against one’s own campaign. It’s then easily proved false and the canidate now has an extra layer of Teflon.
When I first heard this rumor/story, I spent a few minutes looking for it. In our “Jetsons era” of the internet, if it ain’t available right away, it is usually B.S. You are correct Michelle, at this point it is a non-story and likely to remain so.
I am sure there is some type of a tape, but whether it is damning or not, is probably a “not”. The reason I believe there is a tape is that they wouldn’t be arguing over whether it is “Whitey” or “Why’d he”. But I will have to agree with the other folks who have commented above. Michelle Obama has already shown us her victim side. And you can’t be a black victim without having a mean ole whitey beating you down.
I don’t think anything said by these folks will count for much. Most everyone has seen the anti-American, anti-white, and anti-female diatribes by Wright, Pfleger and others in the Obama camp, but he is still the Democrat nominee. Short of Obama being involved directly in a terrorist attack, his supporters will stay the course. (And I even think there is some doubt that they would leave him even if he was directly linked to terrorism. Here we are but 7 years since 9/11 and it is already a forgotten issue to the left and much of America.)

Latest Updates on Larry Johnson’s Holy Grail, a.k.a., The Michelle Obama Tape
The pro-Hillary blog HillBuzz gives the most detailed description of the alleged Michelle Obama tape yet.
(By the way, people are still e-mailing me about the “why’d he”/”whitey” distinction, and what the references to Jena and Katrina say about the timeline. Folks, the transcript on the liberal blog is made up, it’s a hypothetical prediction of what would be on the tape. It’s no longer worth a moment’s debate.)
The HillBuzz description of the tape still raises a few questions, though. They say, “The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th – July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church”, but the Rainbow/PUSH event in 2004 was held at the Sheraton, not Trinity United; did the church cosponsor it or something?
A TownHall blogger claims Rudy Giuliani’s team acquired the tape.
Finally, a media source answers my question of how Michelle Obama making these kinds of comments could escape the attention of local media: “How did the message of Trinity United Church of Christ escape the attention of the Chicago media? Or William Ayers? When you’re in the the tank, you’re in the tank.”
UPDATE: A reader found the schedule for the 2004 Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference. For what it is worth, there’s no mention of Michelle Obama as a speaker. She is mentioned as a “special guest” at the Women’s Luncheon on Monday, June 28, 2004, along with Shoshana Johnson, the first African-American woman POW. (This is obviously the event where they were photographed with Mrs. Farrakhan.)
Until you see the tape with your own eyes, I would not count on any massive shoes dropping…
