Hezbollah now in Nigeria!?

By see-dubya  •  June 5, 2008 03:22 PM

They show up in North Carolina, they’re down in South America, they’re taking over Lebanon…and now it looks like a sighting in Nigeria:

Sustaining the source’s allegation that these pictures were shot in Nigeria is the fact that first; there is indeed a large Shiite minority in Nigeria with whom Hezbollah would find a natural ally, and second; there is a large Lebanese Shiite immigrant community in that country who settled there in the 1960s and 1970s, coming mostly from south Lebanon.

The photographs show an unidentified Shiite mullah (his religious affiliation is easily identified by his dress) being given full military honors during a parade complete with uniformed militiamen and hundreds of Hezbollah yellow flags as well as giant posters of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.

One picture shows a review stand guarded by men in uniform while one of several religious leaders appears to be giving a speech to a crowd.

Another picture shows hundreds of uniformed young men during a military parade, preceded by large posters of Nasrallah and of assassinated Hamas leader Ahmed Yassine.

Maybe there’s another way to interpret those pictures at the link, but I’m hard-pressed to think what it could be.

As the article points out, Cuba tried to export their ideology to Africa in the 70’s. So why wouldn’t a worldwide terror group like Hezbollah be interested in setting up shop as well? After all, Chertoff recently re-iterated the old line about Hezbollah being the “A-Team of terrorism“:

“Someone described Hezbollah like the A-team of terrorists in terms of capabilities, in terms of range of weapons they have, in terms of internal discipline,” Chertoff said. “To be honest, they make al-Qaida look like a minor league team.

“They have been more disciplined, and they’ve been in some senses more restrained in the kinds of attacks they carry out … in recent years, but that’s not something we can take for granted,” he warned.

P.S. the Iranian government funds them, you know. Maybe Obama should ask them nicely to stop doing so.

Or if Iran has its way Obambi might not even get to have tea with his buddy:

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Japan’s prime minister Thursday that the world will soon not include the United States, Iranian news agency IRNA reported.

And of course earlier this week:

Today, the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started. -Ahmadinejad said.

But they are just a gnat right Obama?

I agree completely. Hezbollah is by far the most effective Jihadist organization. They are far more of a threat to us than Al Qaida. Though both groups have the same ultimate goal, Al Qaida seems to favor blind fervor and pure unadulterated brutality as a means. Hezbollah seems to favor some level of restraint and takes a tactical approach. They perfectly read the current political situation is the west. By conducting less dramatic operations and making moves only when the time is right, they are able to grow in strength while continuously testing the responses of their enemies but not making any move bold enough to meet the threshold for massive retaliation from anyone who truly threatens them.

Unfortunately, many Americans are unaware of the danger they oppose and view Al Qaida as the only legitimate target for military reprisals. Nothing could be more wrongheaded. All Jihadist groups have the same goals and the same hatred for our infidel ways. To only retaliate against one would be the equivalent of us only fighting certain divisions of the German army in World War II. The only real difference today is the utterly implausible assertion that the various Jihad groups and their state sponsors are not connected and our adherence to utterly artificial lines of division.

    Yup.

Hizbollah is not just only in the US, but IN the State Dept (at least their abettors) overseeing and rubber-stamping mass immigration to US from islamic nations. Presidnet Obamessiah may not have to go overseas to meet with Hizbollah – just go to Detroit.

Between legal islamic immigration, overstayed visas, illegal border crossings of OTMs, their numbers increase. As they increase in numbers and influence, communities, school administrations, and politicians bend over backward to accomodate them.

” Fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them here”? We are already have to fight them here with every attempt to inflict their culture on us. Fortunately not with guns – yet.

And as Iran is a member of Putin’s own personal OPEC, replete with nuclear arms from the old Soviet days and with the sole purpose of lining Russia and Putin’s pockets by holding Europe’s energy supplies hostage, I’d wager Russia kicks in quite a bit of help to the Hez-heads too (e.g. guns, ammo, training, etc.)!

Really, lgm? Even if Hezbollah or Hamas are extensions of said governments. What about the freaking Iranian guard unit that Obummer voted against as a terrorist organization. Obummer’s record speaks for himself, regardless of what he says to the naive, weak, and easily swayed such as yourself.

You know lgm, you really need to stick to Math, because as you’ve shown, yet again, you have no geopolitical clue what is going on in the world (as do your fellow travellers and many ignorant Americans).

Yet, where’s your concern over the likes of Somalia…. which is a country in name only, and the biggest harborer of Al Qaeda in East Africa. There’s really no central authority in that country… when anarchy and bedlam reign, terrorists seem to flourish.

What about with countries who make deals with terrorist organizations? Or who are fighting to purge them from their society and country such as what Lebanon is attempting to do? Isn’t Hezbollah, supported by Iran, partially housed in Syria, which is sicked on Lebanon to control as another puppet Islamic state by the other two, an extension of Iran?

You’re being extremely obtuse here, lgm. Are you pulling our collective leg here or what?

    Nigeria, huh?

Christianity is flourishing in Nigeria and West Africa, and Islam fears this greatly.

Conservatives, if like me, you wish to stop Islam, this is a place to do it. People there are converting to Christianity like never before. Hundreds of thousands of missionaries have been working all over the Middle East fostering growth in Christianity, especially in Africa.

Al Jazeera has reported on it, I think CBN has too.

Make no mistake, the presence of Hezbollah could be another attempt to do anything possible to keep Muslims from converting in droves.

The thing that bothers me the most is the presence of Islamists in South America, which is historically nominally Catholic.

Mrs. Malkin, I read the link to MSNBC on there, and it’s really hard to believe. Paraguay is 97% Christian. Brazil has over 170 million Christians, and Ecuador, where al Jazeera has been snooping around, has not even 300.

There have been waves of immigration to South America from the Middle East, and Brazil does have an illegal alien problem, but millions of Arab immigrants have converted to Christianity, which is what Hezbollah fears.

I really hope that the law enforcement agencies and the Christian missionaries there tighten the noose around Islam.

See, they were actually protesting AGAINST them. They only wanted Conservatives to think they were FOR them in order for all us evil Conservatives to once again, look like it is all just a “scare tactic” to get Obama to lose. See, there are no terrorists other than George Bush and the U.S. Military, and there is no terrorist threat and never has been. It is all a ploy to get rid of “The Brown People” and to discriminate against Islam, slandering and libeling them, for as we all know, they are the one, true “Religion of Peace”.

Man, you have no idea how hard it was to type all that without hurling all over my computer.

All they needed was Achmed’s bank account # to transfer the money to and he could have half. Achmed brought a group of his Democrat buddies down from Syria (if you look closely, you can see Pelosi standing behind them) hoping to get a little money to pay the Iranians back for all of the weapons they have been getting on the “easy credit plan”.
