I think it would be a horrible mistake to have Hillary as his VP. We know what happens to people who cross the Clintons. Also, in no way would I pay off someone’s debt who is trying to beat me with concerns to a presidency. When you and someone else are placing bids for business and of course you both spend money submitting your bids, if you win it, you don’t go to your competitor and help them out.

Real hotttt here in NJ this weekend, mid 90s with high humidity. Yuk. I don’t have a pool.

Watched Bob Barr on the Glenn Beck show last night for an hour. There’s very little I dislike about Barr. I like him a whole lot more than McAmnesty and will very seriously consider voting for him. I don’t think he is your average hardline Libertarian.

Really, really tired of watching the end zone dance that the liberals and the media are doing after the BO win. Do they realize that half of us are laughing at them?

Beware the war hero persona tactic, Republicans. Dole had that, in spades! Didn’t work against the huckster Clinton.

Policy doesn’t seem to matter to the unthinking libs. Reason is moot to them.

Maybe the economy is the right issue (the war issue is old and over- I declared the Iraq war over in ‘04 since I could see the AQ wouldn’t be re-taking Iraq). The libs seem to think raising taxes is good for the economy. Any working stiff knows that’s bull hookey.

Anyone else notice that after Obammma won the primary that the economic indicators went south on a greased rail?

However after watching both of them in their circus of a primary chase, I am convinced that neither of them are fit to lead their party let alone the USA and even though the will of the Democratic voters have spoken I fear the world is in big trouble if the Democrats win this November. Far more trouble than if the shamnesty loving, global warming hugging McCain comes to power.

Hill as a VP candidate will not happen. I think Bloodhound is right. They will find a place in the party where she has a great deal of control but can’t influence or be influenced by an Obama administration. The thing about Dems is that they honestly believe they can’t loose. A cornerstone of Dem theory is that any Republican win is not a repudiation of Dem politics. In thier minds it is merely a mistake - you know, confusing voting machines or “the people didn’t get our message”. So they aren’t even considering the possibility that Obama may loose. However, if he does, Hill will have a veeeeery powerful spot in the Senate and/or party and Obama will be just another looser (who is a freshman Senator). Hill is evil and despotic to be sure. But she is not by any means stupid.

Other than that, nice sunny day in a place where sunshine is rare. Put a new motor on the boat, rescued an abandoned duckling and putted around the canals.

Good stuff. When I was in school, Buffalo Public Schools weren’t close to the best, but my mom sure did push a lot of buttons and I’m glad she did. She told me something in high school:

“If you get a 95 and a 8 year old could pass the test then the 95 means nothing.”

I also had my Grandfather when I would get the 95 with a sorry tone:

“Why not a 100. You could have done better.”

At the time I hated it, but now I realize how beneficial those statements were.

although, she maybe after the senate majority leader, but i think she wants power that lasts and lasts. look for her to be going after a supreme court justice appointment. that is if barry wins. if barry doesn’t then she is off to the races for the 2012 POTUS position unscathed. if barry loses and she is VP spot she is gone and resigned to the position in senate (not enough power for a clinton).

Any explanation why the American Economic disaster isn’t getting more play in political blogs? It really does look like we are in a “recession”, NEBR definition or not.

Bush/Paulsen have repeatedly said they are “in favor of a strong dollar” the past couple of years, but those statements are completely the opposite of what has been happening.

This is why I don’t want to vote for either a D or R… since this looming problem has been going on since Clinton was in office (tech bubble, then housing bubble). It just seems like now its coming to the forefront for everyone in our lives (by 1970s measures we have double digit inflation!)… and it’s not openly being discussed… this will be a huge factor in the election as well.

I suppose the biggest concern is that Congress, Department of Justice, and State Department have all gotten co-opted by RIAA/MPAA and are working on agreements that help these old business models, and will hurt the Internet. Using the DCMA to outlaw tools to rip DVDs for fair/personal use is just wrong. The truth is that I bet 99% of Americans don’t pirate, and piracy is something you can’t stop, and now that its becoming mainstream it’s a threat… but at the same time movies/music sales have not been too much hurt by piracy.

How pissed off I was that they tried to cram immigration “reform” SHAMNESTY down our throats every year for the past several years. How pissed off I was they were buying into the global warming BS (yes I even used that word).

I told him that I keep writing back to the committee when they send me solicitation letters and tell them the same thing I was telling him today on the phone. I told him I am not giving one DIME to the national party since it is diverting MY money to support RINOs who are screwing up the conservative agenda. I told him that I would rather we take the hit in the losses now and replace those RINOs with real conservatives later.

He tried to tell me how screwed up we will be of Obama wins (he used the word “inexperienced senator”, he didn’t use Obama’s name). I told him we survived the Carter presidency and I expect Obama’s to be much worse. I told him that we ended up with Reagan after that, so it might be a price we have to pay, overall in the conservative wing of the party.

He finally gave up, but that poor dude tried for 10 minutes to “win me back” but I just told him that I am going to carefully pick, at the local level around the country, who I spend my campaign donation money on. I told him I am ONLY sending money to real conservatives and that I don’t want my money to support Party Picked NON conservative Republicans who are throwing conservatives off the bus. I also told him that I was hugely insulted that someone at the National party level even had the audacity to say that they can with without 10% of the base because they are getting democrats and independents instead. I told him to ask THOSE people for money.

Poor guy, he finally gave up. Now I am pissed off. What a way to start a Saturday.

There will be some of Miss Hillary’s people who stay home and less who vote for McCain. We see those reactions in every fight. But those numbers we see now will drop. Time passes and passions cool and the majority of the base returns.

Most elections in my life time have been close, a few blow outs. So it is the margins we fight. The millions of dollars spent are for a few percentage points in the uncommitted voter bloc.

I think you may be selling her short. I would speculate that she’s after Senate Majority Leader for herself, and a Supreme Court appointment for Bubba.

I’m surprised not a word here today about the high and going higher gas prices. The mortgage bailouts will be a drop in the bucket compared to the damage the eniro’s and our incompetent congress is doing to us. Especially when there is absolutely no legitimate reason for it. The U.S. has 3 times the reserves as Saudi Arabia, but we’d rather drive to bankruptcy on our food sources, now that makes sense. Not to mention what it is doing to the real poor in the world. How can anyone support a politician that is in reality killing the poorest people of the world…demo’s and rep’s alike.

    The Board of Tea Appeals:

From its establishment in 1897 until its abolition in 1996, it adjudicated the claims of tea importers whose products were denied entry into the United States by federal tea-tasters. The Board was authorized to permit delivery or order destruction or exportation of substandard teas.

    It gets better:

the Act instructed the Secretary of Health and Human Services each year “to appoint a board, to consist of seven members, each of whom shall be an expert in teas, and who shall prepare and submit to him standard samples of tea.

Even though it was repealed in 1996, it sure proved are Tax Dollars were at Work making sure we have the best tea testers in the world. Maybe Hillary could have taken one of those seven slots.

Breaking from thoughts of the possible future Marxist government, there are famous Americans that help define our individual lives. Who can forget the”…thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat” Wide World of Sports and while covering the Munich Massacre in 1972 and after an unsuccessful rescue attempt of the athletes held hostage, McKay came on the air and said: “When I was a kid my father used to say our greatest hopes and our worst fears are seldom realized. Our worst fears have been realized tonight. They have now said there were eleven hostages; two were killed in their rooms yesterday morning, nine were killed at the airport tonight. They’re all gone.” Well, Mr. McKay died today. God bless Jim and his family. RIP.

Do you think that your checking account is secure from intrusion? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, think again! And get answers from your institutions.

I had a conversation with one of my financial institutions this morning and found out that if I have ever written a check or draft to any of my debt accounts, which includes to any individual as a personal check, they, or anyone else who can get the numbers off of my check, and has the capability to do so, are authorized to hit my account with an electronic withdrawal. And, I was told, there are no safeguards at the financial institutions to prevent it or any unauthorized hits.

The question came up because I noticed some electronic withdrawals from some of the companies to whom I had written checks. I was told that the company to whom the check is written does not have to submit the draft to the bank for payment. They can turn the check into an electronic withdrawal, without my permission, for quicker payment and not have to wait for it to clear. And, if they are so inclined, may even discard the draft. It seems it never has to be submitted to the institution or the account it is written on.

Further, I was told that the banking industry got this ability passed by the federal government back in 2002. And the only recourse is the corrupted American system of litigation taking many, many years and more $$ than was taken out of the account which by now is emptied.

You can read the Fed’s spin on it, that is, how it’s so great for you, here and here.
