Michael Pfleger returns June 16: “He’s a black Jesus stuck in a white man’s body”
Well, it looks like the Catholic Church in Chicago has lost whatever balls it found when it temporarily suspended Pfoaming-at-the-mouth preacher of hate Michael Pfleger for his racially poisoned sermon a few weeks ago. Because he’s baaaack. Again. The Chicago Trib reports that Obama’s longtime friend and earmark recipient will return to St. Sabina on June 16 after being placed on leave to “reflect” on his politicking from the pulpit.
Question: Which Pfleger will come back and reassume his leadership position in the Catholic Church?
The Hillary-mimicking, Vanilla Ice-prancing, Jeremiah Wright-impersonating reverend who has attracted a cult of supporters over two decades?
Or some other Pfleger who was the man Obama knew before he became the man Obama says he didn’t know?
The choir was booming, the dancers were swirling and open seats were scarce in the sweltering pews, but longtime members of St. Sabina Catholic Church thought Sunday’s service was a bit flat in the absence of Rev. Michael Pfleger.
Cardinal Francis George had ordered the fiery activist priest to take two weeks off after Pfleger’s widely broadcast comments mocking Sen. Hillary Clinton and saying, in what he later called a slip of the tongue, that “America is the greatest sin against God.”
Some of his intensely devoted parishioners were worried that his sabbatical would prove permanent. So when a St. Sabina official announced during mass that Pfleger would return June 16, the church exploded in cheers.
“I was just overwhelmed,” Brandy Scott, 27, said later. “I had to cry.”
Hey, how would you like this raving lunatic to officiate your wedding? That would make me cry. Apparently, though, there are couples dying for him to perform their matrimonial services–and countless more followers who can’t wait for more histrionic white-bashing:
The announcement that Pfleger would come back in about a week eased the minds of many parishioners, some of whom were worried that, despite the cardinal’s comments, the priest had finally gone too far.
He was forced to miss a wedding Saturday that he was set to officiate, so another couple with a June 28 wedding date was especially relieved to learn that Pfleger would be back for their big day.
But most simply said they were looking forward to St. Sabina returning to normal under the leadership of the priest who has come to embody the church.
“He’s a black Jesus stuck in a white man’s body,” said Oralee Williams, 48. “He’s the best.”
Your Catholic Church at work.

ooops, and I should say “by” vice “be”.
And relay, as usual, you omit the context of those remarks concerning LEGAL immigrants. Go back and read it - its been posted here. The context is that the Pope’s words say that ALL are obliged to obey the laws, including the ones on immigration, which we, as a just nation, have every right to make and enforce.
That seems to keep slipping your narrow little prejudiced mind.
A black Jesus stuck in a white man’s body. This is a quote from one of the laity at Sabina’s. Last time I read the Bible, Jesus never even came close to the kind of hate-filled rhetoric of Pfleger or Wright. How the Catholic church can keep this type of individual onboard is beyond, beyond belief.
Jesus was never about keeping victims as victims, he was about saving souls. Those he who comforted were among the most downtrodden, yet they all were inspired by him. His message is one of the most positive and uplifting in the history of man.
….for me the same statement sums up my relationship with the Catholic Church and the Republican Party, “I didn’t leave the Party/Church, the Party/Church left me”.
Since both of these formerly great institutions have been highjacked by liberal idiology, I have checked out.
I would rather give 20 bucks to a bum in the street than to support either one of them.
No Not ‘NUFF Said”, jerk!!!
Ignoramuses, such as yourself can refuse to see what your master the Pope was saying, but he was referring to “ILLEGAL” immigrants… and you know it!!
You Catholics crack me up. You give good reason every day for not believing in your religion!
It was inevitable that this would turn into a forum for the Know Nothings.
Why do allow this to happen, Ms. Malkin?
The right side of the blogosphere has become increasingly populated by these lowlifes.
Do you think the American people haven’t noticed this trend? How do you think this will effect their voting habits?
Poor baby. You patently insult anyone who doesn’t agree with you, and then wish that those disagreeable posters would be censored…. How many leftwing blogs have the same complaint…
Pathetic!
Radio,
I disagree with things here too, but its all in how you phrase it and how you present yourself.
Honestly, you come across as crass, contemptable, and ignorant.
Sorry, just calling what I see and calling it from what you’ve posted.
If you try using some logic, try skipping the ad hominem attacks, and don’t act so condescending…you might get a little further in your discussions.
abstractmind:
relay is not capable of logic, as his ridiculous post indicates. How anyone can say that when the Pope said “immigrant”, he actually meant “illegal” is indicative of a delusional mind.
Pope Benedict is a scholarly, rational man. He does not use “code words”, and he has probably read more books than radio has ever read - heck he’s probably written more books than poor radio has ever read.
And that is why conservatism is floundering about. These people are not “conservative”, they are the new barbarians at the gate, as Judge Bork described years ago: they are cultural illiterates whose prejudice, hatred and ignorance drives them to destroy all tradition and institutions of western civilization. Their blindness to history, their greed for power, and their ignorance of dogmatism (yes, dogma is a good thing in that it promotes rational thought) acts as a force for iconoclasm.
We would be well rid of them if conservatism is to thrive.
So, let me see, the Pope comes over to this country (the United States) and tells his Bishops (BTW who are loyal to him, and not the United States) to welcome the “immigrants” and “to support them in their sorrows and trials”, yadda, yadda, etc., etc., and you Catholic loyalists can’t see that he is talking about “illegal immigrants”?!?!?
You trying to tell me that the Pope is talking about the vast millions of “legal” immigrants who a flooding our shores?
Then I’m personally attacked, because I have the unmitigated gaul to question your Pope, and your religion’s practice of harboring anti-American priests and nuns.
So, when do I expect the death squads to show up? Seeing that I should be well gotten rid of so that conservatism can “thrive”…lol
radio:
You really are demented. You draw inferences that do not exist. That makes you irrational as well.
You poor thing.
Radio how do we get this into your demented skull?
The pope said IMMIGRANTS. Nothing MORE, nothing LESS.
Below is the ENTIRETY of the context of the remarks given - in which he is CLEARLY referring to LEGAL immigrants past and present: Thats a clear reference to the Irish, Italians, etc, who came over to build the Nation and the Catholic Community here in the USA.
NOT. ONE. WORD. ABOUT. ILLEGALS.
Get it now you idiot?
And the Catechism of the Catholic Church is VERY clear about this as well:
And if you accuse him of supporting Islam then you are obvious stuck on stupid. Go read his Regensburg speech -which put the entire Islamic world in an uproar because he called them out on the abandonment of reason and the embrace of violence.
http://zenit.org/article-16955?l=english
(”Abandonment of reason” of which you have apparently done as well, just like the Jihadis - not letting facts and reason interfere with your irrational bigotry and hatred, and fascist-liberal “repeat the lie” tactic)
Your continued mis-characterizations, slander and outright LYING about the Catholics and the Pope show you to be almost imbecilic on this matter, especially when you have had it explained to you so many times.
Like a typical lefty fascist, you continue to ignore the truth and repeat the lie.
You are despicable - and NOT a conservative in any way shape or form with your close-minded bigotry.
Ok, here goes…
“sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me”
Now, will somebody actually “prove” that the Catholic church, with the evident blessing of the Pope, does not harbor priests and nuns who are leftist troublemakers, and support illegal immigration?
Thanks, Radio (I loved your movie!) for admitting that you are a Know Nothing.
One down, too many to count to go …
Doesn’t this guy look just like Al Gore? I swear he must be his evil twin!!
Sorry to break the news, dimwit, but “proof” can only be positive. One cannot prove a negative.
Lord help us, our schools are producing illiterate and irrational imbeciles.
Pfleger is suffering from a symptom that the Brits identified while building their empire centuries ago: going native. He should have been defrocked a long time ago and does a disservice to his fellow Catholics if he’s even a true Catholic at all.
To Corona: are you a true Catholic Church member? Because this man has been criticized for not adhering to the mandates of the Catholic Church and instead makes himself into a politicizing baffoon, you say those who criticize him as “know nothings.”
I would like to know why you can’t see this man for what he truly is. He’s a political activist and not a priest. He stopped being a priest when he started politicizing his role. And that goes for any head of a church, not just this guy.
My husband is a Catholic and has no use for this priest. Are you going to call him a “know nothing” too? How frequently do you attend the Church or are you a cafeteria Catholic like so many who pick and choose what to believe?
“Pleger sounds like a reformed smoker that now goes apesh*t when he smells smoke. A crusader who was once a racist, rapist, and probably Jewish.”
What is this crap? It reads like a MyObama chatroom.
I am in no way bashing catholics, but let’s be honest here: this situation is indicative of the state of affairs in the Catholic Church. You can’t demand we place blame solely on Pfleger when Cardinal George refuses to act out of cowardice or complicity. And lest we forget Cardinal George has a boss too. He’s in Rome, where’s the big hat. He also demands we give up our rights to secure borders and other mind-boggling socialist platitudes. I’m truly sorry you don’t feel your parish is receiving a fair shake, but it’s the exception not the rule in America today. I’ve been in churches all over the country and even in heavily conservative areas the parish is still pressing socialism down the throats of its congregation. Are there still great conservative priests, nuns and lay people adhering to the true tenants of Catholicism? Absolutely. But is the Church, from the Pope down, actively turning it’s back on Church tenants and Christ’s teachings? Sadly, yes. Socialism and atheism go hand in hand. The fanatical secular Socialism of Europe has clearly invaded Mother church. And I’m not a KKK member, or a militant atheist. I’m a practicing Catholic who is disgusted and doesn’t see the church doing anything to repair the harm it continues to do.
I guess Michelle doesnt mind bigots given that she allows them all over her blogs. And now Michelle’s policy apparently allows anti-semite bigotry as well.
Way to go Michelle.
The rabid Anti-Catholic ones like “radio” are only a white hood away from talking about blacks and jews - and what you saw was a slip where they let the real intent show through.
My other half is catholic and yes I criticize Catholics regularly and without remorse. She gets real mad but later she realizes that, yes, this protestant is right most of the time. Anyone, I say anyone who lumps all peoples of a certain group together is, in my opinion, muslim in nature. So what’s it gonna be Catholics, the free new world or the not so free old world. You make the call this protestant is waiting. I say, let him speak, that’s my protestant way, now what he has to say is a whole different can of worms.
Then you obviously are either lying abotu being a Cathloic or else are woefully ignorant. Or maybe you’re in with Mel Gibson’s dad.
Or perhaps admit that you aren’t a Catholic, but an ignorant troll instead? I’ve seen that type on gun boards… “Im a gun onwer but I dont mind restrictive laws”.
Your arguements are the same dated discredited and false ones used by the Know Nothings in the 1840’s and 1850’s. And against John F Kennedy and Catholics. Etc. Bigotry sprung from ignorance.
Try learning a bit of history next time.
Thats why they called the illiterate ignorant Catholic bashers of the 1800’s “Know Nothings” - because like you, they Know Nothing, and proclaimed all kinds of falsehoods against Catholics, the Catholic Church and the Pope.
Read what I posted several posts above. You are DEAD WRONG regadring your quote. As a Catholic don’t you even know the Catechism?
As I posted above the Catechism specifically allows immigration and border control. And this Pope follows the Catechism, as do all proper Catholics. Pfleger is far outside the bounds, and his Cardinal is derelict in his duties to allow him to remain at such a parish for so long.
Also you apparently do NOT know the Catholic Church at all, especially the structure, and that the Pope cannot quickly relieve an Archbishop or Cardinal - there are rules, laws and byloaws that must be met. It takes time.
The Catholic Church is NOT a dictatorship - it is a congregation of apostolic bishops, each in charge of their diocese. The Pope is the Bishop of Rome, and is deferred to, but does not RULE the others.
Now that I’ve cured a bit of your ignorance, perhaps you’d care to re-examine your wild accustations, mischaracterizations, libels and outright lies?
Coming in late on this discussion:
Chicago Jedi:
Please don’t leave over this. The Chicago Archdiocese has plenty of good, solid parishes to pick from. Maybe you ought to talk things over with a priest from one of these:
St. John Cantius
St. Odilo in Berwyn
St. Lambert in Skokie
St. Mary of the Angels
And I’m sure that if you can’t get to one of these places, they’ll direct you to another good church or priest.
With preachers like Pfleger and Wright, and “leaders” like Jesse, Farrakan and Sharpton, is it any wonder that the black community is a complete mess?
Actually we can. Pleger has attained the age of reason and has not (yet) been cerified insane. Pfleger has a conscience and it’s not Cardinal George. So I say Pfleger can be held solely accountable for his words and (mis)deeds.
Can you write that in English, please? If your wife loses an argument to you, she must have an IQ of 12.
Doh, No! Oh please atheling, don’t mask your stupidity by tagging along with me. Forge your own trail, you can do it we know you can. Ra Ra shish boom bah!
Sorry to break the news to you, but your limited abilities to actually engage in any kind of discussion are laughable. Are you completely incapable of saying anything not laced with insult. What a fine example of the Catholic religion you are.
No wonder these creeps like Pfleger, use your church for sanctuary…. birds of a feather flock together… don’t they now!
Looks like you took your meds. Too bad they don’t help your debating skills.
Now go sit in the corner like a good girl.
Ok, so now that you have belittled a decent Catholic woman what’s next? You gonna kick my protestant ass? Ooh, I’m frightened. Look moron my family came from the UK, Scots Welsh to be exact wanta piece of me? Ok, take a number but be advised, we kick ass and take names later.
ROFL!!! Please, stop, you’re killing me!
And do keep quiet till after election. The Leftards have enough ammo as it is.
Do you like me, do you really really like me?
Go on girl, I wouldnt have you as my slave, opps, can I say that?
Ok sweetheart i changed my mind I’ll take you now.I love fighters.
XXXOOO lookin forward to metting you you sound hot!
Peaches, Err athleing, are you good looking or are you the run of the mill leftist? I hope not as i said you sound … hot!
cmon girl
Dammit! I love this woman! She wont speak to me! Aw @#$%!
athleing,
Where are you? You show up here and there on this board you know I love you and desire to save you. Why wont you speak to me? I’m hurt.
Sorry to disagree DHD, but everyone is to blame. Pfleger foremost of course, but you can’t rest blame solely on him. It’s the congregations fault for not recognizing the error and evils of his message and demanding change. It’s Cardinal George’s fault for not doing anything. It’s the Pope’s fault for not lifting a finger to do anything, even if it’s a delayed reaction. Everyone is to blame - top to bottom - because everyone is perfectly content to do nothing. Pfleger has been doing this for a very long time and no one in the church has done anything to oppose him. Evil prevails when good men fail to act.
OC, I don’t whether you’re a troll or just really inflamed about this issue. Either way, please stop the childish name calling. I’m clearly not hate-filled and harbor no grudge against the Catholic church. I just wish they’d stop embracing the evils and ignorance of socialism. I will oppose evil to my dying breath even when it appears close to home. Denial won’t help things.
Do you not read Michelle’s site? She puts a lot of hard work into it, and you seem eager to debate on the boards so why not read an article or two.
href=”http://michellemalkin.com/2008/04/18/open-borders-and-the-catholic-elite/”
Look the Pope and the Catholic church are a force of great good in the world and should receive extraordinary praise for that. However, we must halt this downward spiral into leftist lunacy. The church is a point of light in a dark world and I don’t want it to be snuffed out from within. It’s courting dangerous suicidal policies. I can say that because I love my church, not hate it.
And PC, you did your good deed for the day. Thanks for trying to keep me in the fold.
Sorry for the disgustingly long post.
A legend in you own mind…. BTW, here is yet another clue… this isn’t a debate.
This is only a statement of fact! The Catholic Church aides and abets loons (atheling), leftists (Pfleger), and those who would bring down the U.S.A. (Berrigan)!!!
Oh, and you called me a girl… ROTFLMAO… man oh man, that is so frickin’ lame… Not insulting, just lame!!
radio, atheling is an arrogant intellectual wannabe, and I think she was calling you a dog actually. She’s about 5% as smart as she thinks she is.
This is only a statement of fact! The Catholic Church aides and abets loons (atheling), leftists (Pfleger), and those who would bring down the U.S.A. (Berrigan)!!!
Berrigan and his ilk are the last gasps of the ’60’s generation, and the Church will be better for it when they go on to their eternal reward (hopefully, it will involve an intense purging process first).
Radio45, if you are the slightest bit interested in a more balanced view of what the Catholic Church is actually about, I invite you to check out websites such as First Things, the American Chesterton Society, Our Saviour’s Church in New York (pastored by the excellent Fr. George Rutler), and such publishers as Ignatius Press. You will find that none of these could be called leftist or liberal by any sensible person.
I meant Radio Relay, not Radio 45. My apologies.
