Berrigan and his ilk are the last gasps of the ’60’s generation, and the Church will be better for it when they go on to their eternal reward (hopefully, it will involve an intense purging process first).

Radio45, if you are the slightest bit interested in a more balanced view of what the Catholic Church is actually about, I invite you to check out websites such as First Things, the American Chesterton Society, Our Saviour’s Church in New York (pastored by the excellent Fr. George Rutler), and such publishers as Ignatius Press.You will find that none of these could be called leftist or liberal by any sensible person.

Actually we can. Pleger has attained the age of reason and has not (yet) been cerified insane. Pfleger has a conscience and it’s not Cardinal George. So I say Pfleger can be held solely accountable for his words and (mis)deeds.

Sorry to disagree DHD, but everyone is to blame. Pfleger foremost of course, but you can’t rest blame solely on him. It’s the congregations fault for not recognizing the error and evils of his message and demanding change. It’s Cardinal George’s fault for not doing anything. It’s the Pope’s fault for not lifting a finger to do anything, even if it’s a delayed reaction. Everyone is to blame – top to bottom – because everyone is perfectly content to do nothing. Pfleger has been doing this for a very long time and no one in the church has done anything to oppose him. Evil prevails when good men fail to act.

Do you not read Michelle’s site? She puts a lot of hard work into it, and you seem eager to debate on the boards so why not read an article or two.

Look the Pope and the Catholic church are a force of great good in the world and should receive extraordinary praise for that. However, we must halt this downward spiral into leftist lunacy. The church is a point of light in a dark world and I don’t want it to be snuffed out from within. It’s courting dangerous suicidal policies. I can say that because I love my church, not hate it.
