More unpaid debts for the deadbeat defaulting Democrat
Didn’t want this one to get lost over the weekend. Our favorite deadbeat, defaulting Democrat Rep. Laura Richardson’s unpaid bill total keeps mounting. Paying your home loans, campaign bills, copier bils, and car bills is for suckas.
I remind you again that this woman cruised to an easy, breezy primary victory last week.
From the Congress you deserve, via the Long Beach Press-Telegram and CQPolitics:
A mechanic and a body shop told the newspaper that she stiffed them in 2005. And afterward, she “began using a city-owned vehicle — putting almost 31,000 miles on it in about a year — and continued driving the car five days after she had left the council to serve in the state Assembly,” the Press-Telegram reports, citing city records. “Last month, it was reported that Richardson’s Sacramento home, where she had lived during her brief Assembly stint before moving on to Congress, had fallen into foreclosure and been sold at auction,” according to the paper. “Further investigation revealed she had defaulted on that house and two others in Long Beach and San Pedro a total of eight times since 2004.” Richardson is unchallenged in her bid to retain her 37th District seat.

Why on earth was she not opposed in her primary? This is ridiculous. I’m going to vote in November, but not for any incumbents!
Many jobs have the requirement that you pass a credit check before you can be hired. Certainly in high security jobs your finances are scrutinized so that you are less likely to be corrupted with bribes.
Shouldn’t the same requirements apply to our representatives?

Yeah, it’s easy to say there’s no economic problems when someone who can’t even balance her checkbook is in charge of the nation’s finances.
Actually the surfers are in Seal Beach which is next to Long Beach. Seal Beach being in OC, Long Beach LAC believe me you wouldn’t want to live there. My Aunt lived in LB during the 60s and 70s its not the same now. LB is a Compton on the Pacific in many areas. San Pedro is basically the port city and it looks like that’s what it is. I once had someone try to steal my car in San Pedro, took my distributor to coil wire hoping I would leave it there long enough to steal. Nitwits, who do they think they are dealing with? When I attended school auto shop was a hugely popular elective. With politicians like this hope and change will get you no where.

Yes, my job for the government requires a security check. If your financial situation is bad, it suggests you are a security risk. That means you are more likely to take money for exposing secrets. Why should it be any different for a member of congress?

I guess if the creditors came after her, she will pull out the “race card” and announce she’s being oppressed. Liberals love that stuff. For some, scamming credit companies and banks, is okay. We opened the door to the old “do your own thing” back in the ’60s. Now our values and morals have sunk to new lows, in this country. I, for one, am an oddball. I pay my loans and bills. I’d never make it in the new congressional attitude, so I would never be supported in a campaign run.

Since she is black, and a woman! Not to mention the fact that she has firsthand knowledge of how inscrupulous financial institutions are ripping off those too stupid or uncaring enough to “read the small print (AKA: Disclosures).” Plus, she knows how to rip off institutions, and still claim to be “the victim!”
I wouldn’t be surprised if she is not promoted as a “viable” national candidate for the office of President the next go ’round…that is if the Obamessiah doesn’t work out.

The really sad thing this irresponsible creature in her privileged position has access to confidential if not secret Government information as a Congress critter. In the Military financial irresponsibility is grounds for denying access to classified information. Most ethical Congress ever!
Democracy and law require citizens that respect the law and that requires law that is deserving of respect. I’m surprised no one has noticed that O’momma is of the school that doesn’t respect the law, well at least white mans law, and I can somewhat sympathize. Of course we whites understand that justice is not always equal but that is not an excuse for more lawlessness or injustice. Blacks have been sold a bill of goods that is worthless, there is not one white person on this board that doesn’t know that blacks are doing exactly what we were warned about by our parents or others that cared about us not to do. Just listen to the rev wrong his message of failure and hopelessness mixed with anger and revenge. Until blacks are told that thinking such as this is found in white mental institutions they will continue to suffer. I don’t have any compassion for those who allow their anger and resentment to pollute their futures. Hope and change, ytjhats exactly what many blacks need. Hey I’m white and I’m with you if you are black, the founding fathers did not put, all men are created equal, for nothing. Believe in it and work toward that end and it will come to you, it happens every time. Show some spine freedom loving blacks who want to do something with your lives and ignore the losers, they have a loser mentality reinforced by their leaders and churches. It’s a dead end road, recognize it or imagine a future without freedom.
I have to defend Long Beach a bit, not Ms. Richardson, though. She is dispicable.
I actually live in her district. The district is very mixed, an odd shape from gerrymandering. Yes, Long Beach has ghettos, places no one wants to go to but it also has beautiful areas and nice/fun places to hang out. My neighborhood is nice. It’s historic and people really do up their homes…tons of landscaping and beautiful trees. I am close to the water and there is a beautiful brick museum right on the cliffs. Very lovely and artistic. Plus Bluffs I walk regularly. What I like about my area I could ride my bike to go anywhere if I wanted to, I would not have to ride on busy streets.
I just had to put this in…a poster above decided she knew all of Long Beach. She does not. She painted the whole area with one brush and it’s simply not the case.

You have to remember – none of the information came out until after it was too late for another candidate to file. It was only a few short weeks before the primary and depending on CA state law – it may be too late to remove her from the ballot.
Sounds to me like Obama has found the perfect VP.
Richardson is both a minority and a women. Not to mention she connects with the people who have fallen victim to the evil mortgage companies….Now if only they could find a way to tie in the oil companies they would have this election won.

Tgusa…I am not bs’ing anyone. Why the rudeness? Yes, CA is very very diverse but that doesn’t mean there aren’t nice areas to live.
I live in one of them and no it isn’t Belmont Shores…although I go there all the time.
Yes, you ARE painting CA with one brush…shame on you. My area is GREAT! Old homes, people make them beautiful with historic paint and landscaping…walking distance from cool coffeehouse and yoga center and other fun places to hang out. Beautiful Bluff to walk down. There are many many places for me to take my dogs and enjoy beautiful walks. Yes, there are bad areas but I don’t go there and hang out in them and I don’t have to. There are many fun/interesting/beautiful places to go to enjoy.
I am not the only one who loves my neighborhood and Long Beach. Many professionals live here, my friend says she wants to live in this neighborhood for the rest of her life, my quiet, law abiding neighbors have lived here 10+ years because they love it so much.
And what is with the “multicultural” comment? I am just telling the truth of where I live.

Think of it this way, if Congress doesn’t want term limits, it must be good for the country–they hate the thought of not being important! Every job I’ve had required a financial background check.
