Why the MyBO antisemitic moonbats matter (and why the site may have been pulled?)
NOTE: As I write this, I see Charles reporting that the whole MyBarackObama site has been taken offline. For maintenance? Will it return, or is it going under the bus?

A few bloggers whose opinions I value think that I, along with Charles Johnson of LGF, are making a mountain out of a molehill about the anti-semitic moonbat guano infesting the MyBarackObama website. Patterico and XRLQ both point out that this is an open forum, and it’s not surprising that a few wackos took advantage of the lax site policing to post their screeds. It doesn’t mean that Obama is anti-semitic or endorses these views, and in fact his administrators flushed some of the sites post-haste when they came to light.
Fair enough. But here’s two reasons why I think it does matter:
I. How Obama campaigns is important, and it’s reasonable to think he’ll run the country something like he runs his campaign. This is pretty much the only thing he’s run as an executive. Who does he hire? How does he manage them?
George W. Bush gets hit all the time for valuing loyalty over competence. Here Obama has introduced a very popular new campaigning tool, but he doesn’t seem very interested in seeing it is managed competently and securely. As Michelle pointed out in an e-mail to me, “…you’d think with all that dough he’s swimming in, he could afford a few good moderators/admins…”
It’s a big theme with Obama: he’s all about the splashy marketing, not big on thinking out the consequences. Hey, let’s put an endorsement from Father Michael Pfleger up on the official Obama website!
In retrospect, that decision was not a particularly good one, now was it?
The MyBO problems have been going on for months now. It’s not just one idiot, but thousands of controversial, vile postings. (Here’s a new one.) They’ve taken heat for it for a while now. The “Jemaah Islamayah for Obama” site, which I’m sure is a spoof, had been on MyBO since March 31st.
Now here’s the thing: IT’S STILL UP TODAY. But it’s changed from the screencap I took yesterday. Some site admin saw it and said… “myeh.” (UPDATE: As soon as I hit publish, it looks like this is finally down.)
No alarm bells there? Hm? Meet the new White House IT chief.
Conclusion: Barack Obama hires incompetents, and cares (and knows) more about flashy marketing than competent administration and execution.
II. Again, this isn’t just one noxious freak slipping through the cracks. It’s thousands. So why do all these anti-semitic wackos keep su…er, sorry, keep placing their trust in the Obamessiah?*
I mean, they see something there. Despite Obama’s lackadaisical, flip-floppy attempts to show support for Israel (which cost him that Hamas endorsement!) Israel hating socialists like George Galloway still see him as the clear choice. So do a lot of interesting people: Ayers. Pfleger. Wright. Ortega. Chavez. El-Hady. Castro. Khalidi. FARC.
What is there that draws terrorists, Communists, Jew-bashers, thugs, lugs, dregs, gunslingers, hustlers, rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, and Methodists to Obama’s campaign like flies to an oyster bar’s dumpster in August?

Anyone who is surprised by the content of the Obamessiah’s website has missed his strong support from the anti-semites at Daily Kos and Huffington Post.
I don’t blame the webmasters of that site for shutting it down…it needed it. They’re just at fault of not monitoring a open forum closely enough and letting the looneys loose. Of anything, it just shows mismanagement by whoever has (or had) been hired.
It is interesting that THAT strain of lunatic fringe was growing so well in Obamas forum. Something in the kind of kool-ade they drink, I guess.

One of the things I’ve noticed about many commenters from the left is that they have no compunction about stating their opinions and are surprised when someone expresses a different point of view. I have read vile things on Kos, but when a complaint is raised, there is utter shock that anyone would object.
I agree that Obama’s team should have kept a closer eye on his website, but I am not surprised by the incivility of his supporters.

You’d think with all his “experience” that Obummer had people that screened these admins. Did anybody notice the whole Jemaah Islamiyah bit? Wow, another terrorist organization endorsement! Do you think that Obummer hangs these endorsements on his wall or when it’s revealed who actually is supporting him…they’re taken down?
Since Obummer outlefts even McCain…. wouldn’t he be proud of these terrorists endorsements? I mean, he’s concerned about how “oppressed” the Muslims seem to be. What about the oppression of Muslim women…. or does Obummer only care because losing a war is better for his election chances?
Come now… Obummer is the honey that’s draws in these crazy flies…. I think he needs a good fumagator (or a rather big, perhaps stadium-sized bus?).

The thing is, they are so convinced that their opinions are correct, they are so self-righteous and secure in their egotisms, that it is a completely foreign thought that anyone else could possibly FEEl any differently on any issue.
I am constantly surroumded by people whom I have just met…either having lunch with friends and introduced to new people that way…at parties…or various other places, where the conversation carries on as if they think everyone there is both a Liberal and a Democrat. The insults towards Republicans, Conservatives and Presient Bush flows freely, without the slightest thought…pre or after…that I or anyone else around might possibly be Republican or COnservative. The Liberal mind is just that egotistical.
Then, when it is finally mentioned that I and possibly someone else I might be with, are the very horrible, mean, evil, torturing war-mongers they have just been insulting, the look of amazement/astonishment that flows over their faces is almost comical…were it not so truly disgusting.
Now, one would think that, following such a social fqux pas as what they have just been partaking in, they would apologize for insulting me and/or my commrades. No. Instead, the look of shock turns to one of disgust, and the insults, 9 times out of 10, will continue, and in most cases get worse, for they turn personal.
“How can you possibly support…How could anyone…etc., etc., etc., and then most times, they will actually become angry with us. This happened just last week, when I was warned that this person doing the insulting usually, “Kicks the Republican’s ass…” but since we were working together, and I seemed like an “ok” guy, he would try to “forgive me”. No, he did not say it with any sense of irony or humor. The snide comments and shots across the bow have continued for over a week, and I have been informed that any chance of working for this company are pretty much out, now that I have been exposed as, “One of THEM”.
The hypocrisy of all this is…this is the precise thing that Liberals complain of and fear happening to them. While I know of no cases where the opposite of what occurs to me and my fellow Conservatives has EVER happened…especially due to the fact, as I am sure most of you are also guilty of, that Conservatives and Republicans tend to NOT tell people of our political beliefs and stance simply to avoid these issues, the fact of the matter is, this type of thing goes on EVERY DAY everywhere across this country, and has only become worse in the last 8 years. Just ask anyone in Hollywood what would happen should it come out that they are a Right-WInger and they have not established themselves securly in the Industry.
Yup…\hypoxrisy, bigotry, racism, hatred and violence…the only things that Liberals truly do well.
All one need do is read the words from the Trolls just from this site…or dare to visit Kos, DU or HuffPo to truly see and understand the inner workings of the Liberal mind, and the sheer poison that flows from it.
Have you been paying attention to the campaign’s this year? Wasn’t this supposed to be a sure thing for Clinton?
Obama has put together by far the best political operation of either party this year. His campaign has been the model of efficiency and grass-roots organization.
The other problem with anti-Semitic trash on Obama’s website is that it shows a certain nonchalance towards it, or maybe worse, a certain tacit willingness to tolerate anti-Semitism as long as it stays relatively submerged. At the very least, it shows a predisposition towards the rabble-rousers who make these comments. This implies what his priorities and lack of priorities will be as President. This is how policies change, grind down their supporters bit by bit. Just like PC; years ago, people looked at the ridiculous things the PCers were saying and many didn’t think it was very important. But bit by bit, they wore many people down, so that now our ability to fight against terrorists is impeded by PC considerations.
That’s a mighty big bus, AJ. Obama will need a fleet of them before it’s over.
I think that I and many other Conservatives can relate to your experience. I have some examples of what you speak:
1. My husband’s family get togethers. Most of my liberal in-laws (save one) routinely harangue Pres. Bush in front of both my Conservative parents-in-law, and my military husband. Pretty impressive behavior given the person that was in the White House in the ’90’s.
2. College towns. I learned a lot through observing the liberal mindset in my hometown of Ithaca, NY. My parents were friends with many professors of many political bents, but the nuts and fruits were always on exhibit regarding things like recycling, eco-friendly bike paths, and gender neutral/sexual orientation neutral education. It’s lonely if you’re a Conservative.
3. The education field. I was constantly told that there was no political bias in this industry. I was to learn differently in my Master’s program where liberal, far-left indoctrination was commonplace. When I applied for teaching positions… or when I was a substitute teacher… you’re not embraced for having a different viewpoint, you’re used as the butt of a joke. I definitely experienced that during the 2004 campaign.
A society that preaches so-called “tolerance” doesn’t have much when it comes to differing political viewpoints. It’s about liberals and their beefs. That’s why I feel that our country is becoming more and more of a Socialist Welfare paradise. Liberals have no problem taking more and more of my money for their causes.
Yes, liberals are so convinced how “benificent” and understanding they are but they’ll tune you out in a heartbeat if you’re not “sold” on their policies. Yeah, that’s political discourse for you.

If they don’t realize how embarrassing it is to be for Obama, how are they going to tell when anything else is?
One thing I (sadly) learned when I reluctantly agreed to be the president of a sporting club: the people who were most vocal in their free-flowing accusations of cheating were the worst cheats, and were hyper-sensitive to even the most oblique (sometimes imagined) insinuations that they had been observed cheating.
The parallels to thin-skinned liberals (and especially the Obummer) are startling.
I believe liberals’ intolerance comes from deep-seated nagging doubts about the legitimacy of their ideas. I have to say I can’t blame them for harboring doubts.
Almost sounds like you have grounds for a pretty good law suit, but being a responsible self reliant conservative I’m sure you will move on to greener pastures and probably a lot more successful. I couldn’t work in a hostile work environment like that myself. I am so glad I live in the middle of nowhere Idaho in a military town. Plus being around the Air Force all my life I’m in my comfort zone. At least here I am finally allowed freedom of speech as a retired GI as long as I don’t do anything to violate the “Hatch Act” as a simple servant. Right now there is little chance of that because I have yet to see any candidates for office I could stand to be politically active for anyway.

The thing is, the Liberals have always been anti-Semitic. All one has to do is look at the posters, listen to the chants and view the reading materials offered at any number of anti-war protest rally to see just what side of the Israeli/Islamic “debate” (for lack of a better term) they are on. The baffling thing is just how many Jews are registered Democrat.
The reason that they are coming out of the woodwork, so to speak, stems from the fact that the MSM has done a bang-up job convincing them that they are in the majority now, and there are only a small percentae of Americans who remain Conservative…thus they feel they are safe to finally come forward, “out of the shadows” with their hate speech, no longer fearing that they will face any repercussions for making such statements. After all…if EVERYONE believes as they do, then how on earth could their opinions possibly be wrong?
I believe they base this “We Are in The Majority” belief on the Presidential Opinion Polls. THey see the low numbers and assume that anyone NOT thinking Bush is a hell of a guy is obviously a Liberal/Democrat. It their mind, over three quarters of the country now thinks and believes as they do.
Of course, the fact that the Democratically held and lead Houses of Congress hav\ing even a far LOWER opinion rating is completely inored not just by them, but by the MSM, so it only goes to shore up their beliefs.
Thus, they become far more vocal, far less afraid that they will get spanked for all the hate-speech that is bantered about. Just look at how fast and far Wright, Pflager, and all the other scum-wads that Obama calls “friends” and “Mentor” and “Advisor” have gone in being excused for what they preach, say and do. Even “Captain Empty Suit” and wife, who have been a part of all that hate-filled rhettoric at that “House of Hate” they call a church, and who cannot possibly deny having heard it all over the last 20 years, get a pass on all of it by the MSM and damn near every other group. Istead of having his candidacy tank, he has gone on to be the Presumptive Democratic Candidate and, barring something really mind-numbing, the actual Democratic candidate for the Presidency.
The crap that has attached itself to him and his campaign, were this to have been a white candidate and especially would it have been a Republican, would have sunk that person faste than the Titanic went down, and far more brilliantly.
Why has there been no outcry from the Left and a “Circling of the Wagons” around Clinton, boosting her chances? Simply because what those two men had to say and did say reflected what a great number of Liberals and Democrats feel and believe, and, in fact, felt grateful that someone was able to do it outloud at last.
Neither of those two men are slinking away in disgrace. Rather, they have been brought into the limelight and given bigger and stronger forums from which to spew what was, until now, secretly the beliefs of the Liberals of this country.
Don’t think for one minute that what they say will go away. Indeed it will not. Instead, it will be restated over and over, albeit a little more polished and not quite so “in-your-face” and become an active part of the Liberal Platform in the coming year.
Mark my word…the Liberal hate machine will take over as the new vogue in Left-Wing Poitics. With Obama’s nomination, the Green Light has been turned on for a new era of racism, hatred, and overt bigotry the likes of which this country has never seen.

It appears BO has reached the point of his psychological de-evolution where he believes he can do anything and then if caught, say anything to get away with it. He is surrounded by people who flatter and tell him only what he wants to hear. And when they aren’t around, the voices in his head keep up the cheering. If he’s not totally crazy now, he will be by the time Nov. rolls around. What was the line about whom the gods destroy? Or about people getting the government they deserve?

Democrats are inherently Racist and Classicist. The simple fact is that without the generic “downtrodden”, Liberals have no one to point a finger at. Dems need the “black vote” or the “hispanic vote” whereas the RNC seems to feel it doesn’t need to campaign at all (sorry, I just can’t help my frustration over the lack of fighting will). The real problem with Democrats using the “I’m here to help the little man” propaganda is that there has to be a “little man” to begin with. Sure, there is poverty. But in the America I know, everyone has the opportunity to go out and get a job.
Wait, here is comes.. Here comes the liberal retort “How dare you, how can you say that anyone can work? Why, these people have been oppressed!” Well, I was born in the late ’60’s so the “oppression” that has become the standard reference really hasn’t been an issue in my lifetime. Yes, everyone can work. You may have to do work you don’t like but everyone can work.
If that isn’t true then explain how millions of illegal aliens CAN work but healthy Americans on welfare can’t? All unemployment statistics in this country are inaccurate because they don’t take in to account the millions of people working illegally. If those who don’t work simply found a job (note the fact that millions of people who have no work authorization and don’t speak English somehow managed to find work) we could devert the welfare money we give them back to the national debt and erase it without having to increase taxes. As well, the taking of jobs by Americans would reduce the need for illegal laborers to fill those jobs.
Call me whatever names you wish.. Once again, Conservative logic will be fought with Liberal slander..

An apt analogy for Obama’s long-term, knowing and willful associations with the likes of Jeremiah Wright and Tony Rezko and, to a lesser extent, Bill Ayers. Not an apt analogy at all for a racist moonbat poster who, for all you or I know, may not even support Obama’s candidacy, and who in any event posted his racist drivel without the campaign’s blessing, only to see said racist drivel deleted the instant the campaign learned of it.
A decent argument can be made that allowing such an open forum and not moderating it more proactively exhibited poor judgment on Obama’s part. That’s a fair point, but all it gets us is the molehill. To get from there to the mountain requires a huge leap far beyond guilt by association, and into the bizarro world of guilt by someone else’s desire to associate with you. Just because hundreds of gay men want to have sex with you, that doesn’t mean you are gay.
