Live from the Texas GOP convention

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 12, 2008 02:01 PM

Ragnar at The Jawa Report is liveblogging: “This one is shaping up to be more exciting than most. Republicans roll into this year’s convention amidst a storm of controversy and litigation. The long and short of it is that a coalition of conservative grassroots activists, fit to be tied with the state party, are seeking to replace the existing party leadership.”

I hope they succeed. There was coup of the RNC leaderhsip while we all slept. The liberal “compassionate conservatives” wrested power from the old guard conservatives. Now look what we have. Republicans trying to out liberal the dems and an amensty, free spending, entitlement loving, PC embracing candidate for POTUS.

Otherwise people who get their news from right wing blogs like this one will still think there is come controversy.

The RNC? You mean the California Republican Party (CRaP for short). I live in CCCPalifornia as well and know what a joke it is.

The CRaP has been the kicked dog of the California Dems for far too long, willingly accepting any scraps the Dems may toss their way when they become occasionally annoying.

The disfuncitonal and rarely effective CRaP leadership acts like the Democrat Lite Party and are usually hostile towards real conservatives. It has allowed California to be essentially a one party state.

This should be fun. A little ditty from a blog of a Nueces Co. ( Corpus Christi) talk radio person today I listen to. “Red face Rep.? The GOP credentials committee found late Wednesday that Nueces Co. leadership seated delegates who were not elected from precinct convention in violation of party rules.” Now this is interesting. The poll question was, ” Do you think this was done to appoint McCain delegates and remove the elected Ron Paul delegates.” Yes=64.86% No=35.14%. I will keep an eye on this one. Boy what a mess. I would not vote for Paul or bho.

Michelle can’t post a copy of Barack Obama’s birth certificate because it will undermine her bitter conservative narrative that she has unfortunately latched onto this election year. Markos posted a copy of it earlier today, here.

Another bitter conservative talking point down the drain.

Yeah because Obamas birth place is not an issue, wait it is. Because Him being forgien born would have excluded him from being president. Just like the dems tried to do with mccain.

Grow up LGM. Obamas character and history are not distractions, they are what makes or breaks a president.

No one said the pencil neck marxist’s birth certificate issue was anything but a rumor at the time. But inquiring people wanted to know for sure, just as the libs did with McCain. And with a lot less restraint. I would not be surprised though if it turned out to have been doctored up. His entire campaign has been one big cosmetic surgery trying to keep his true identity secret. I am still looking forward to Hillary’s October surprise.

I knew this party was toast when Tom DeLay got out and said the republicans had scrubbed the budget of all waste. If there is not a sea change of attitude from our elected leaders here in Texas the GOP will resemble that mansion that just burned.

The main theme of both conventions will be: “Ask not what you can do for your country; ask what your country can do for you.” People will be watching to see which party follows that theme the best.
