I wouldn’t put very much stock in the anonymous industry source types, Beastie. Just so much more of the usual biz ax-grinding gossip that’s often tossed out in such matters to slant, spin and stir things up. Meaningless stuff, really.

UPDATE: according to an industry source, Ingraham may have brought some of her troubles upon herself by possibly violating the terms of her contract: “Laura was ‘locked out’ because she’s been negotiating secretly with individual Citadel-ABC program directors to get on their stations in the event they lose Sean Hannity. She’s looking to make $4 million a year, far more than her show currently generates in terms of revenue.

“She was operating behind the back of Mark Masters and the Citadel-ABC people have been talking to her. She does not want to quit radio, quite the contrary. She really wants TV, too,” said the insider.

Ingraham is apparently looking to move her show into a live midmorning slot on key ABC talk stations should Hannity leave the company, as many expect. This scenario would see hosts from WABC, WMAL/ Washington and WBAP/ Dallas slide into afternoon drive slots.

C’est dommage.

No, emjem, the network is Talk Radio Network – talkradionetwork.com – which also features Michael Savage and Tammy Bruce, so it’s not a liberal takeover.

It would seem that Laura is weighing some career-change options in broadcasting which may or may not involve her regular radio program. I suspect she and her radio show’s syndicator – TRN – are negotiatiog a thing or two. And that’s usually one of the things on-air people don’t discuss a whole lot about publicly.

Monica Crowley has done a good job sitting in for Laura in the interim. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s tapped to sit behind the mic if Laura moves on to bigger and better things.
